Abstract

ABSTRACT SMK is an education that prepares learners to become professionals in accordance with its program expertise. Besides teaching science in vocational education subjects is something new, the previous curriculum vocational subjects did not learn the IPA. From interviews identifiable reason students continue their education at vocational schools is, to develop their talents and interests in membership, students feel less familiar with the material given science teacher. With respect to the purpose of this research is to find a picture of the students perceptions of teaching science in public and private vocational schools in the district of South Coastal District IV Jurai.This study includes a descriptive study. The sample in this study was 20 % of the number of class XI students of public and private vocational schools in District IV Jurai South Coastal District, amounting to 12 students of SMK - Plus Budi Dharma, 37 Person 1 Painan SMK students and 25 students of SMK Negeri 2 Painan. Sampling was done by simple random sampling, while the instrument used for data collection in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the percentage. Student Perceptions of research results Against the IPA Lessons In public and private vocational schools in District IV Jurai South Coastal District shows the percentage of 72.02%, with a sufficient criterion. It can be concluded that students perceptions of teaching science in sufficient criterion.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Tinospora crispa (brotowali) is known as a dill in Indonesia. Brotowali have bioactive compounds which useful for medicine. It can found at all part of this plant. Tinospora crispa stem has bitter kolumbin, alcaloid and glicoside. Alcaloid is antiproliferative. This antiproliferative can reduce the amount of oosit which is produced and decrease the amount of oosit which is ovulated so it affects the reproduction performance of mice. This research has purpose to know the effect of Tinospora crispa extract to the reproduction performance of mice. This research is experimantal research used female mice (Mus musculus L.) as many as 24 female mice which are divided into 4 treatments and 6 replication. The treatments given is brotowali extract with variety of dosages, they are: K is control, P1 treatment (5x10-2), P2 (6x10-2) and P3 (7x10-2) gram/mice. The parameterobserved is the amount of  corpus Luteum, implantations, resorptions, died fetus and alive fetus. The data is parametric which is measured by Analisis of Varians then by DNMRT. The result shows that brotowali extract to the female mice with 0 day till  16th   day pregnance has significantly higher (p<0,05) to the amount of corpus Luteum, the alive fetus, the died fetus and resorption. While, the amount of implantation has not significantly. Thus, it can be concluded that brotowali extract for the female mice  pregnant have embryotoxic and fetotoxic effects.

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of harmful on maize cob borer is a caterpillar (Helicoperva armigera Hubner). Caterpillar attack the corn up to grain filling stadia on the cob. These caterpillars attack corn plants by way of invading entered in to the cob and ate the seeds in the cob. Symptoms of attacked plants characterized by hair cut of corn cobs, cobs end there is a used hoist and often times there are larvae. These caterpillars can reduce the quality and quantity of corn. This study aims to determine the population density of borer caterpillars on corn cobs In the Keluruhan Pisang Kecamatan Pauh Padang. Physical factor measured by temperature and humidity. This type of research is survey descriptif. The study started from September-oktober 2013 di Keluruhan Pisang Kecamatan Pauh Padang. Field sampling was conducted on maize plants age of 50 days and 70 days after planting. Field samples is done by dividing the total area of 20x20 m corn plants into five parts, namely the edges and the middle of the size of 3x3 m. Furthermore, samples collected in 3x3 m plots with units per stick in a random way. The results were obtained borer caterpillar population density on corn cobs age of 50 days after Planting more densely is 252 individuals/plant with an average of2,02 at the age of 70 corn crop  that is 124 days after Planting individuals/plant with an average of0,99. Cob borer caterpillar densities found are included pests.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mambu root (Millettia cericea W. & A. ) is a kind of plant that suppose has a role as antimicrobial that able to pursuing growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacterias. It is caused by the containing of Mambu root that compound on flavonoid, alkaloid, and saponin. The purpose of this researcher is to know the influence of essence in Mambu root to growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacterias, and also to know the concentration of essence in Mambu root that can pursuing growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacterias. This reseacher have been done in January until February 2014 at Laboratorium Kopertis Wilayah X, Padang. The scheme/outline of this experiment is RAL with 12 of treatment and 3 times repetition. The concentrate of essence in Mambu root that have used for each bacterias is same, they are 10%,20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and amoksisilin 10% (positive control). The result of the data has been analyzed with sidik ragam analisys (ANOVA) and DNMRT tests. The result of this research showing that essence of Mambu root (Millettia cericea W. & A. )  can inhibit growth Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacterias. The concentrate of essence in Mambu root that effective can inhibit the growth Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi bacterias, that is to 50% concentrate. The mean inhibition zone for Escherichia coli bacterias is 11,53 mm while the mean inhibition zone for Salmonella typhi bacterias is 7,57 mm.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of bark extract (Pterocarpus indicus Willd.) on the quality of epididymal mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus L. Swiss Webster). This experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments and 9 replications. K is the control with no treament and bark extract. Treatment of P1 and P2 are given treament  bark extract orally for 35 days at dosages of 0,1gr/b.w and 0,2 gr/ b.w, After treament the mice decapitatied and surgical the epididymal taken to count the number of sperm with Improved Neubauer method for calculating and used Eosin staining of normal and abnormal spermatozoa. Data were analyzed by ANOVA (Analysis Of Varians) and followed DNMRT. The result showed the average number of spermatozoa P2 is 56.38 × 105 significantly different (p < 0.05) compared to P1 54.05 × 105 and K48.22 × 105. While the average number of abnormal spermatozoa in K 12.27 × 105 and P1 23.33 × 105 and P227.94 × 105. It can be concluded that the bark extract given orally for 35 days can reduce the quality of sperm and increase abnormal of sperm.

Abstract

 Thrips populations sp . in Kampung Batu Solok District of Twin Lakes in pepper can reduce the production of vegetables . One of the vegetables contained in this stone village area is chili . The chili is a community that is relatively important and very popular all over the world , and loved by the community chili has low calories and contains vitamin C which is high for a chili fruit contains 20 calories with no fat at all In this regard it has done research on the population density of Thrips sp . ( Thysanoptera : Thripidae ) in pepper in Kampung Batu Twin Lakes District of Solok which aims to determine the population density of Thrips sp . in pepper This study was conducted in September-November 2013, with a descriptive survey method is by way of direct collection against Thrips sp. the research sites. The area used as a study about 30x 20 m. Sampling was conducted on pepper plants already have flowers and pepper plants that have fruit. Physical environmental factors that will be measured are temperature, humidity , and soil moisture . From the research conducted characteristics Thrips sp. found in pepper in Kampung Batu subdistrict Twin Lakes ie, black slim body shape , and jet black , and the wings are fringed and have segmented bodies . The results were obtained an average population density of Thrips sp. on pepper plants that have gained interest of 3.87 individuals / stem and the fruit of pepper plants that have gained 2.92 individual / stem.

Abstract

ABSTRACT In teaching and learning process requires a media that is able to achieve the learning objective. Worksheet used in the school is design by MGMP biology teacher Padang. Worksheet haven’t attractive display. One of material biology in class IX4 junior high school is system reproduction. The display picture in worksheet haven’t colour and clear. Based on explanation before the am of the study is to produce a worksheet with picture at system reproduction valid and practical. This research to do in SMPN 31 Padang grade IX4 on januari 23, 2014. This is research is the development of a 4-D models, consist of define, design, develop and disseminate. The data of this study in primary data. The validity of test data and test result practicalities. Validity data and practcalities is in the form percentage is descriptive. The result of classified worksheet valid by validators 84,00 %, and practical categorized by teachers 84,65%, and by students categorized as very practical 86,35%. From this study produced worksheet with picture comes on the material system reproduction valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Mangosteen is one of the traditional medicinal herb which is expected to be antifertilitas. In these plants contain chemical Xanthon. The components Xanthon this contains. Mangostin which is  the  active substance, from this plant that acts an antifertilitas. Mangostin serves to prevent cell division (Sitokinesis). This study aims to determine the effect of mangosten pell extract (Garcinia Mangostana L.). On reproductive performance of mice (Mus Musculus L.Swiss webster). This research is the use of animal experiments female mice  (Mus  Musculus  L.  Swiss  Webster)  as  much  as  four  treatment  and  six  repeat.  Treatment  given  is mangosteen   rind extract with various dose namely: Treatment is A the control, without being given the mangosteen. Rind extract, treatment B,C, and D treatment is given mangosteen extract twenty-four days. With each  dose B,C, and D parameter was observed holding weight. Parameters measured were the parent  weight, the amount of the corpus luteum, Implantation, reseption, fetal death, fetal life and the average body weight of the fetus. Data were tasted by ANOVA (Analisis of varians) are parametric, then a further test with BNT on the degre 5%. The results showed that extracts of mangosteen rind (Garcinia Mangostana L.) effect on weight gain that is the parent of each treatment were significantly different when compered with control. The average number of corpus luteum and implanation has decreased in B,C, and D when compared with controls A. Fetus life experience decreased in dose B,C,and D when compared to the   control A. It can be concluded that mangosteen peel extract fed orally for twenty-four dayas. Parent cause weight gain, a decrease in the amount of the corpus luteum, a decrease in the number of Implantation and decrease the number of live feuteus.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The results of studying biology class VIII SMP 4 Payakumbuh in the school year 2012/2013 has not been satisfactory, and is under the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). The low student learning outcomes because teachers are still using the media and methods of learning that are less variable in the learning process in the human digestive system material that is abstract. The use of interactive learning media that accompanied the map concept is expected to motivate students to learn actively, creatively, and effectively. This study aimed to examine the effect of the use of interactive learning media that accompanied concept maps on learning outcomes of students SMP 4 Payakumbuh biology. This study is an experimental research study design with randomized control group  design only. The population in  this study were  students of class  VIII  SMP 4Payakumbuh academic year 2013/2014 which consists of 9 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling, in order to obtain a sample class that is a class 2 VIII6 as the experimental class and the control class as a class VIII9. Form of the test used is an objective test. The technique of data analysis is to examine both the average similarity with the t-test at the 0.05 significance level. The results of the analysis of data obtained while the price of t 2.14 1.67 t table, this means tcount> ttable which means that the hypothesis is accepted. From this study it can  be  concluded that  the  results of  biological studies  students by  using interactive learning  media  that accompanied the concept map material effect on the digestive system biology student learning outcomes using conventional learning in class VIII SMP 4 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

Abbstract:Insecta is a kind of pest which can damage the root, stem, flower and leaf of the tea plant. Related to the case above, this research aims to identify the insects’ compositions on the tea plantation at PTP Nusantara VI Persero Unit Usaha Danau Kembar Kabupaten Solok. This research used the survey descriptive method by collecting the insects from the observation place directly. It used the chemical Knock Down technique (an insect trap use the chemical substance). The sample was taken twice (a day in a week) as long as two weeks. It was identified at the Biology Laboratory of UNAND which the composition population density, relative, density presence freguensy, relative freguensy is only counted. Besides that, the environmental factos that affect the observation proces such as temperature and humidity were also mesured. Based on the research finding, the insect compositions that have been found by the researcher in the tea plantation of PTP Nusantara VI Persero Unit Usaha Danau Kembar Kabupaten Solok Sumatera Barat are about 8 Ordos, 13 Families, and 14 Genus. The higher relative compactness includes on Genus Scudderia (75 %) and the lower relative compactness involve on Genus Carabus, Malachius, Platinema, Eushistus, Monopa, Tersilochus, (11, 11 %). Furthermore, the average of the temperature are 290C, 270C, 250C, meanwhile the humidity are about 55%,58%, 61%.Â
