Abstract

This research is the development of the use of 4-D Models consisting of four stages namely, define, design , develop , and disseminate , but the study was only done until the development phase because limitations time and costs. Define phase consists of a front end analysis, the analysis of the student, and analysis tasks. At the design stage to design a module that is equipped to make mindmap on protists material to high school students. Then at some stage develop test the validity by a validator which consists of 2 professors and 2 STKIP PGRI Biology teacher SMAN I Painan. Test practicalities by 2 teachers and 30 students of class XI Science SMAN I Painan. Data were analyzed by using percentage and processed descriptively. The results of this study are generated mindmap module equipped on protists are very valid material with a value of 91.67%, which assessed the validity of the didactic aspects, construction, and technical. Then the resulting module is also included in the criteria is very practical with practical value by 93.83% teachers and practicality value by 86.75% students were assessed from the aspect of ease of use of the module, the benefits obtained, the efficiency of learning time. It can be concluded in the form of instructional media module equipped protists mindmap on material produced is very valid and very practical.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the students low learning achievement in Biology. This could be seen from the students average score in Biology in class VIII of SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang which was below the Minimum Standard Score. This problem was caused by teacher who acted as the center of information, and the students merely listened to and took note on. The materials being explained. The students did not have a chance to ask questions on the materials remaining unclear. This then made the students had low learning activities and motivation. This research was inteded to reveal the effect of using Index Card Match cooperative learning model assisted with homework on the students Biology learning achievement in class VIII of SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang. This was an experimental research which used Randomized Control-Group Posttest Only Design. The population of this research was the students in class VIII of SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. By using purposive sampling technique, class VIII2 was chosen as the experimental group and class VIII3 was as the control group. The data of the reserch was the students learning achievement on cognitive aspect. The data which had been tested its normality and homogenity then was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of the posttest, it was figured out the students average school in the experimental class was 80,31 and in the control class was 75,02. The result of t-test showed that the value of tcalculated (1,45) was smaller than ttable (1,67) indicating that the hypothesis was rejected. Thus, the use of Index Card Match cooperative learning model assisted with homework could not improve the students learning achievement in Biology in class VIII of SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang.

Abstract

The problem in this is result of learning research biology classes VII MTsN Talaok are still low. It’s solution is application of type cooperative learning model Round Robin and handout. The research purposed to know the effect of the application of type cooperative learning model Round Robin and handouts to result learning students of IPA class VII MTsN Talaok. The kind of research is Experiment. The research design used Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. This population of research are students of MTsN Talaok specially of VII classes IPA. Sampling by using purposive sampling technique. Experiment class is VII.4 class and control class is VII.6 class. The instrument used objective form with four option. Based on the data obtained average results of experiment class learning is 77.48, and the control class is 70.17. From analysis t-tes obtained t (1.72)> t table (1.67). It is concluded that learning Cooperative learning model type Round Robin and handout can improve learning result biology classes VII MTsN Talaok academic 2013/2014 years.

Abstract

Nilam plant (Pogestomon Cablin Benth) is one of plant result atsiri oil that is important thing of cosmetics industry. Nilam plant has advantages like: difficult steam is better than eteris oil others, impediment wash, can be dissolved into alcohol and can blend with eteris oil others. One of causing Nilam Shrivel Plant Disease is offensive of Ralstonia Solanacearum. The purpose of the research is to know antagonist exam of some isolat Pseudomonad Fluoresen toward bacteria of ralstonia solanacearum caused nilam shrivel plant disease with in vitro.The research is done from April 2013 – October 2014, placed in Plant Physiology laboratory, FMIPA, UNP. This research use RAL with 5 steps and 5 exams. The ways are PfPj1, PfPj2, PfPj3, Cas3 and Kd7. The result is analyzed by using ANOVA in real fact 5% and if it is different that is continued with t exam DNMRT in real fact.The analysis result of many isolat Pseudomonad Fluoresen able stunts Ralstonia Solanacearum. Zone diameter is PfPj1 11.41, PfPj2 9.97, PfPj3 12.56, Cas3 11.25 and Kd7 10.26 isolat which have high inhibit zone PfPj3 12.56. in briefly, Pseudomonad Fluoresen able stunts Ralstonia Solanacearum development which is caused nilam shrivel plant disease with in vitro.

Abstract

Education is done to make human resource who has good quality and useful. The education process which is organized well is a hope to make student understand the material concept better, including biology especially living creature classification material. Because of that, teacher need to make the condition which can help student in understanding material concept of lesson well. The purpose of this research is to produced picture media by using movie maker application in living creature classification material validity and practice. This research is developing research which is used 3 steps of 4-D model (define, design, and develop). The subjects of this research 4 were validator (2 biology lectures and 2 biology teacher), and also 20 students of SMP 14 Padang. The data research is premier data which is gotten from validity and practicality questionnaire. The data which is gotten from analysis by qualitative descriptive technique. From the research is produced product like picture media which is use movie maker application with validity value 91,58% which is mean that very valid by validator, whether in content, construction, and language. The picture media movie maker which is produced has practicality value 91,25% by the teacher and 94,93% by student, that means that picture media movie maker is stated as very practice, from student interest, use process, time and activation of student. From that result can be concluded that picture media which is use movie maker application which is produced has been valid and very practice.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes biology student at SMAN 1 Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This is caused by several factors, including applied learning models teachers do not vary, discussions are not heterogeneous and used books limited to less support teaching and learning process. One way to improve learning outcomes is to use STAD cooperative learning model along with handouts on learning outcomes biology class X students of SMAN 1 Sutera. This type of research is experimental. The study design randomized control group only desaign with a population of tenth graders of SMAN 1 Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan which consists of 8 classes. Sampling technique was done by purposive sampling so that the class as a class experiment X.2 and X.3 as the control class. The research instrument used was the ultimate test of learning outcomes in the form of an objective test. Data analysis was performed by t test. Based on the results of biological study gained an average student learning outcomes experimental class (62.37), higher when compared to the control group (58.59). From the analysis of the data obtained t was 1,320 while 1,676 TTable. Because tcalculation <ttable then the hypothesis is rejected. It can be concluded that there is no Influence Application Type STAD Cooperative Learning Model with Learning Outcomes Against Handouts Biology Class X SMAN 1 Sutera Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan.

Abstract

The background of this research is about the students’ low learning score in IPA lesson especially biology. Sceleton system material is difficult that is caused many students get score below KKM at SMPN 32 Solok Selatan. This case happens because the teaching learning process is only main for the teacher and does not interact with the students. Otherwise, to see the condition of school does not prepare media alike framework of human model. The purpose of the research is to know the effect applying of Cooperative Learning Structure Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) with Concept Map toward the Students’ Learning Score at Class VIII SMP N 32 Solok Selatan. The technique of sampling uses total sampling. The analysis data analyzes by using t exam. Based on the research, this case can be concluded that applying of Cooperative Learning Structure Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) with Concept Map toward the Students’ Learning Score at Class VIII SMP N 32 Solok Selatan. The score of attitude can be concluded the students’ behavior in experiment class is better control class meanwhile the students’ ability in control class than experiment class.

Abstract

Lake is a body of calm waters and habitats of living organisms or aquatic biota. One such organism is the mussel in the family Unionidae Contradens contradens contained in Solok Regency Lake Singkarak. The shells are often captured and used by residents as a source of animal protein for food and livelihood. Arrest shells were constantly threatening the existence of this mussel population extinction even. This study aims to determine the population density and size distribution of mussel shells Contradens contradens and physico-chemical factors of water in Lake Singkarak. This research was conducted in April-May 2014 in Solok Regency Lake Singkarak. Collecting shellfish samples was performed with a Sauah (anchor). Measurement and verification sampling conducted in the Laboratory of Animal Ecology Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Andalas University, Padang. This study used a descriptive survey method using purposive sampling to define four different research stations namely Nagari Tikalak, Singkarak, Saniang Bakar and Muaro Pingai. The results of the measurement and verification samples obtained Contradens contradens shells with an average population density is highest at Station I ranged 11.21 ind/m2 and the lowest ranges from 1.28 ind/m2 at Station II. The average density ranges from 7.67 ind/m2. The ratio of length : Height : Thickness is 1 : 1 : 1, there is a very close correlation between the length, height and thickness with a dry weight of meat. Mussel shell length ranged from 2.7 to 5.5 cm. Distribution of shell length at Station I and IV predominantly young individuals as well as on Station II only adult individuals.

Abstract

Gold mining activities causing disturbance and vegetation succession in the used mine location, so that research on the composition and structure of vegetation Basic On used mine Location in Gunung Medan area of Sitiung district Dharmasraya regency, with the aim to know the basic composition of the vegetation consist of type and quantity, structure vegetation cover density (K), relative density (KR), frequency (F), relative frequency (FR), diversity index (H1) and the factor of chemical physics at the used mine location. Descriptive survey research methods in September 2014. Samples of soil and vegetation samples basis taken of four research stations is the used mine location after 1 year (station I), 2 years (station II), 3 years (station III), 4 years (station IV ). Analysis of soil in the laboratory Botany Biology Study Program STKIP PGRI West Sumatra. Identify basic vegetation at Andalas University Herbarium (ANDA). The composition of the base vegetation is 616 people, 11 families, 19 species. The highest KR Borreria alata (Aubl.) DC. 67.198%. The highest FR Brachiaria eruciformis (Sm.) Griseb 20.008%. The highest H1 Scleria sumatrensis Retz. and Borreria alata (Aubl.) DC. 1.398. 330C-360C air temperature, soil temperature of 280C-310C, humidity 34%-40%, soil pH from 6.5 to 7.1 and the highest soil water content 21.867%.

Abstract

Apis cerana is an insect that is often found nesting in tree cavities . In connection with it has conducted research on population studies of Apis cerana ( Hymenoptera : Apidae ) in the mixed garden fence in the village of Pagar Puding Tebo Tebo Ulu Jambi in January to February 2014, with the aim to determine the population of Apis cerana nest height which includes the study of surface soil , stem diameter , width and length of the nest.This study used a descriptive survey method by observing directly Apis cerana colonies were found in the village of Pagar Puding District of Jambi Tebo Tebo Ulu which measure the height of the nest from the ground surface, stem diameter, width and length of nests and nesting species. From the research conducted found a nest of Apis cerana populations are found as many as four nests per hectare, stem diameter ranged from 43.94 to 79.28 cm , height from ground nests ranged from 1.14 to 2.34 m, the length of nests ranged from 6-30 cm long, 3-9 cm wide nest. Plant for put is nest are Lansium domesticium and Havea brasiliensies.
