Abstract

Abstract The implementation of TSTS learning with window shopping activities can foster student interest and improve mathematics learning outcomes. Students have extensive opportunities to work together and learn to communicate the results of their group discussions. The study aims to improve the learning outcomes of building flat side space. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII.4 SMP Negeri 3 Pringsewu Lesson Year 2014/2015. The study was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. The instrument used is the script about test and observation sheet of learning activities. To know the students initial ability before being given the action the students are given pretest with the average result reaching 54,76. After the treatment, the average value of the test in the first cycle reached 69.86 and on the second cycle the average test value reached 80.88. In conclusion, the implementation of TSTS learning with window shopping activities can improve the learning outcomes of building the flat-side room of students of grade VIII.4 SMP Negeri 3 Pringsewu Lesson Year 2014/2015.Keywords:  Two Stay Two Stray, Window Shopping

Abstract

This study aims to find the effect of using the traditional game of marbles to the understanding of the concept of length measurement. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental research. The study population was grade II SDN 8 Negeri Katon, Pesawaran. This study uses total sampling so that the two classes were used that II A and II B respectively numbered 31 people’s. Data collected by the test results of study and the data were analyzed with quantitative statistics. The results showed that there are significant differences in the understanding of measurement concepts between students who learn to use traditional game of marbles with students who learn by direct learning model. Understanding the concept of measuring the length of the student using the traditional game of marbles showed higher results than students who learn by direct learning model.

Abstract

The one of technical element is the appearance of teachers teaching in the classroom teaching. The appearance of a good teacher will be able to create an effective learning environment and is able to manage the learning process. The appreance teachers teach are directly related to student motivation, that meaning if the appearance of teachers teaching in accordance with the expectations of students, then students will be motivated to study well. As the results of observations made, data showed the average value of the results of students mathematics learning in the material integers remained low at 55. This is shown still many students who scored less than standard KKM defined in MI Baiturahman Pugung mathematics courses that 60. The low learning achievement, presumably because learning is influenced by several factors, including internal factors such as student motivation, while external factors such as the appearance of teachers in teaching. From the research, that the appearance of teachers teaching and students motivation contributed 86.67% while the rest is determined by other factors. The amount of these contributions shows that the appearance of teachers teaching and students motivation to have a significant correlation with the results of students mathematics learning material especially integers.

Abstract

AbstractStudying and tracking the metacognitive characteristics of students is necessary to be able to choose the strategy or learning method that will be used. This study aims to see how the characteristics of metacognitive profiles of students in the completion of high-order mathematical problems (high order thinking) in terms of mathematical disposition of students and to see the effect of learning that focuses on metacogntif on learning outcomes. Based on the result of the research, it is found that students with high disposition category are able to finish each stage of solving of high level mathematical problem, whereas in low category students still not complete complete problem stages. Stages passed by the students of the low disposition category is the stage of evaluation is to check back the results of answers. In the calculation results using statistical tests also obtained that students who applied learning that focuses on more have a higher learning outcome value when compared with ordinary learning. Keywords: Metacognitive, High Order Thinking, Disposition Mathematics

Abstract

ABSTRACT Each lecturer gives a college contract at the beginning of the lecture meeting, one of the contents is about the timetable for collecting tasks. It  found  that there are students whose job values are low because they often delay the collection of tasks. Because delays in the collection of tasks have an effect on the low value of student assignments, then it needs to be analyzed more about the factors causing delay of academic duty of student. This study only consists of one variable and its descriptive nature taken without formulation of hypothesis. Population in this research is all student of mathematics education force 2014 and 2015 STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung which amounts to 66. The sample of the research is the students who are indicated to have delayed academic task. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the factors causing academic procrastination internal factors include students attitudes toward learning, factors of learning concentration, and study habits while the external factors include the factors of facilities and infrastructure. Internal factors are more dominant as factors of academic procrastination, this means that the cause of academic procrastination or postponing behavior comes from within the student. Keyword : Academic procrastination, factors of academic procrastination.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to obtain Student Worksheet based on AfL in peers for mathematical ability of junior high school students. AfL in peers is using by other students in  formative assessment for feedback and scoring. The design of this study was made to develop teaching materials in the form of student worksheets that contain of assessment aspects. In (R & D), which is described in two phases, the first phase in the research and development stage. This research used interview and validation sheets as instruments. Output required of this research has produced teaching materials in the form of students worksheet based AfL that validated by the experts and tested. Student Worksheets based on AfL in peers developed has the main structure there are learning activities and essential tasks, there are comments and score columns in every learning activity and essential tasks.Keywords: Student worksheet, formative assessment, Assessment for Learning (AfL), peers

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to develop teaching aids, to test the validity and practically teaching aids, and to test the effectiveness of learning process using CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) model with metacognitive approach to improve the ability in Geometri problem solving. This research and development design is adapted from Plomp model by using several phases: (1) preliminary investigation; (2) design; (3) realization/construction; (4) test, evaluation and revision. This study developed some teaching aids; a part of syllabus, lesson plan, students book, students’ work sheet, and test of problem solving ability. The subject of the try out is eighth graders of MTs NU Nurul Huda Kudus. The research data to test the validity, practically, and effectiveness are collected by: (1) validation sheet; (2) observation sheet; (3) problem solving test. The results of research showed that development teaching aids using CORE model with metacognitive approach for Geometry material of VIII grade is valid and practical, and learning CORE model with metacognitive approach for Geometry material of VIII grade is effective.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the relationship of teacher teaching skills according to the perception of students with learning motivation and student learning outcomes. This research uses documentation and questionnaire method, where documentation method is used to obtain learning result data, while questionnaire to obtain teacher skill teaching data according to student perception and learning motivation. The population in this study are students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Banyumas academic year 2017-2018. Sample determination by random sampling technique Data analysis using correlation analysis of pearson product moment and multiple correlation. From the results of the analysis shows that there is a relationship between teaching skills of teachers according to students perceptions. There is a relationship of learning motivation with student learning result of mathematics. And there is correlation of teacher teaching skill according to student perception and learning motivation with student mathematics learning result.Thus the teachers teaching skills and student motivation need to be considered to improve students mathematics learning outcomes. Keywords: teaching skills, pupil perception, motivation and learning outcomes

Abstract

Mathematical communication has an important role in mathematics learning for instance, sharpening the way of thinking, improving students’ ability in observing the relevance of various mathematics concept, measuring the development of mathematics understanding, and reflecting students’mathematics comprehension. For these reasons, it is crucial to know how far students’mathematical communiation skills. Therefore, this study aims to describe mathematical communication skills of majors students STKIP MPL. Mathematical communication skills are seen through students’answer analysis in solving Calculus II problem. The research subject consists of three students who get score A, B, dan C. Based on the analysis result found that mathematical communication skills of these subjects are able to communicate mathematical ideas by using pictures and Mathematics symbols. However, they have differences ability in describing and analysing. The first subject is able to describe and analyze pictures precisely. The second subject is not able to describe pictures well, thus the pictures are difficult to understand. While the third subject is able to describe pictures well but can not analyze the picture so the problem solving method is not appropriate. Abstract

Abstrak: Intelegensi atau  kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir dan bertindak salah satu unsur yang berperan penting bagi siswa dalam menguasai materi yang dipelajari. IQ tinggi biasanya cenderung mendapatkan hasil belajar yang tinggi pula, fakta di lapangan tidaklah selalu demikian, hasil temuan pada siswa kelas X  SMA Negeri 1 Gedongtataan, 30% atau 12 siswa dari 40 siswa dengan katagori IQ tinggi (minimal 110) akan tetapi mendapatkan hasil belajar dibawah KKM. Siswa dengan kondisi tersebut dikenal dengan siswa Underachiever. Underachiever terjadi bukan karena kesalahan siswa secara mutlak. Oleh karena itu akan ditelusuri faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa Underachiever. Data hasil belajar (Y) diperoleh melalui metode dokumentasi dan data terkait faktor penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar (X) diperoleh melalui angket. Selanjutnya data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment untuk mengetahui hubungan kedua variabel tersebut. Untuk menentukan keberartian dari koefisien korelasi di digunakan statistik uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa faktor keluarga, lingkungan tempat tinggal, kepribadian, dan pembebanan menjadi  faktor penyebab siswa Underachiever kelas X SMAN 1 Gedong Tataan.Kata Kunci: Underachiever, Pembelajaran, Matematika
