Abstract

Convergence occurs due to the storage of various knowledge sources in digital form. Unfortunately, in Indonesia, convergence has not yet become an option in providing knowledge services to the broader community on a massive scale. Although practitioners of documentary institutions have discussed this term frequently, they have not discussed how to carry out inter-institutional convergence. Convergence between documentary institutions is a common solution to improve accessibility, which is one way to increase the role of documentary institutions in the utilization and preservation of the nation's collective memory. In the digital era, convergence must be interpreted broadly, not just as a physical union but more on the unification of function, substance, and communication. Communication problems are indeed the main problem hindering GLAMS convergence in Indonesia. This paper describes the convergence of documentary institutions from a communication perspective and motivates to build a more open communication pattern between documentary institutions. The dominant problem that hinders GLAMS convergence in Indonesia lies in communication issues

Abstract

To meet the demands of the workplace, archivists need to understand how soft skills develop. Digital technology development is a task that needs to be accelerated right away. This article attempts to discuss the findings of studies on how archivists work from home (WFH) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia led to developing soft interpretative skills. A case study approach was employed in this descriptive qualitative research. Questionnaires and interviews were used as the primary data-collecting methods for samples from the local government, the business sector, and ANRI. The findings demonstrated that the perception of soft skills has evolved into an implicative function rather than a meaning-based one. Based on the study's findings, it was determined that soft skills provide an essential and crucial purpose, precisely the demand for digital literacy. It was also determined that the implementation of WFH during the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the use of digital literacy abilities.

Abstract

Academic libraries manage collections and offer the community the best services possible, one of which is library-free services. In the free management of a library, an institutional repository is an essential aspect because, with it, graduates can publish their writings to the public. However, the number of graduates and repository data from various universities differ. It requires integration, automation, and graduation registration systems, so everything is interrelated. As a result, everything is interconnected and cannot proceed if the first stage is not completed. So it is necessary to create an online library free submission system that can combine these three systems. The study shows that the three systems can be integrated, providing maximum data optimization between graduate and repository data.

Abstract

Document integrity is critical to public trust in archives management. Armanesia is an innovative research project aims to develop prototype of information systems to support the management of digital archives based on blockchain technology. The project uses blockchain technology to record verification, immutability, and other metadata derived from various types of digital records. In this system, archives are permanently stored through peer-to-peer distribution and consensus verification without the need for a third party. The continuum archive cycle is based on Armanesia workflow infrastructure. The prototype is built through open-source technologies such as IPFS (Interplanetary File System) for blockchain-enabled file systems to design a system prototype using the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method. Armanesia technology can be applied for both public and private blockchain ecosystems.

Abstract

Cross-border tourism (CBT) is a new discourse that attracts the attention of researchers from various scientific fields. Along with the development of CBT research, it is necessary to map and trace references related to CBT so that it becomes a reference in research. To that end, using bibliometric analysis by analyzing 334 articles, the study aimed to answer the question; Who is the most influential author in the CBT study? What are the most cited references in studies on CBT? In the Scopus database, what are the most cited journals? Specifically, the study used co-citation analysis to map important references, as well as journals that have a broad influence on CBT topics. Data visualization in this study used VOSViewers as well as content analysis of several related documents. The results of the study showed that the most widely used reference in publications related to CBT is D. J. Timothy's book. The study also emphasizes that Timothy is the most popular author in the discourse on CBT. In addition, in CBT publications, the most influential journal is Tourism Management. This study has implications for researchers who want to conduct studies on CBT in determining references and determining destination journals.

Abstract

Research on the topic of illegal abortion is quite a concern, but more discussed macro in a legal point of view and health policy. Micro-analysis with a similar topic has been conducted on a limited basis with the background of the issue of illegality which cannot prevent abortion behavior. This study aims to analyze the scientific literature to find general trends and analyze indicators related to the topic of behavior from illegal abortion practices around the world. This paper uses a bibliometric methodology, utilizing data taken from the Scopus database from 1968 to 2021, and visualizing the data using the VOSviewer. 310 papers from different nations were uncovered in the investigation. When the study's findings are compared to the total number of citations and related publications, it becomes clear that the United States and the United Kingdom continue to dominate research on illegal abortion activity. The great majority of articles on this topic are mostly in the social science sector. By identifying keywords, it can be seen that the majority of research topics continue to center on large-scale issues including abortion, contraception, and unsafe abortion. This study enables us to define unlawful abortion in an individual setting as the behavior a person engages in when deciding to abort a pregnancy, regardless of whether it is carried out by themself, another person, medical professional, health workers, health facilities, or by other parties that deviate from the abortion laws that are in effect in the nation. This study offers crucial conclusions and suggestions for future thematic research opportunities that are sustainable.

Abstract

Many libraries have used technology-based management services extensively. However, not all of them can live up to the standards stipulated by the library. This study will use the PIECES method to assess Simpus and Promem's level of excellence. This technique is one of the approaches for evaluating the program's library information system's level of quality. The population of this descriptive research, which uses a quantitative methodology, is 905 people, with a sample size of 90 respondents. The data is collected via online survey as a research tool and accidental sampling. The data analysis procedure used the PIECES analysis method and descriptive statistical analysis. The study's findings show that Simpus and Promem's quality level employs the PIECES analysis method for each indicator, with the performance indicator receiving a score of 4.96 (very high), the information indicator receiving a score of 3.92 (high), the economic indicator receiving a score of 3.98 (high), the control indicator receiving a score of 3.78 (high), the efficiency indicator receiving a score of 3.94 (high), and the service indicator receiving a score of 4.0 (high). Thus, this demonstrates that performance has the best quality of the six indicators, and control has the lowest rate.

Abstract

Freezing is known as a method that is considered to quickly eradicate active forms of plants and insects so that it can kill insects and their eggs in ancient manuscripts The purpose of this research is to find out more about the causes of ancient manuscript damage and the application of freezing as a form of the ancient manuscript preservation method. The method used in this research is descriptive with an approach. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach. While the informants of this study were the Head of the collection, conservation, and preparation section, the Manuscript conservator, the Collection section assistant, and the Manuscript room management officer. Observation, interviews, and documentation are used as data collection methods. The data analysis method, however, makes use of three methods: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Triangulation of sources to determine the accuracy of the data. The study discovered that insect elements such as silverfish, book lice, and book warm are the main causes of destruction to old texts. As a solution, the freezing method is applied in three stages: pre-freezing, the freezing procedure, and post-freezing. The lack of work safety equipment for officers performing freezing duties was one of the challenges. In addition, the collection was still mostly located on the second floor, making the transfer rather time-consuming.

Abstract

For Generation Z, especially those who study librarianship in the digital age, e-literacy is essential. It refers to using a computer with information, media, moral literacy, and learning and thinking abilities. One of them is how they communicate COVID-19 information. Through the behavior of librarianship students from the seven State Islamic Universities in Indonesia, this study aims to measure the impact of e-literacy on prophetic-humanization communication among Generation Z. With a 9% error rate and a sample size of 116 pupils, stratified random sampling (proportional) was used to acquire the data. The findings strongly correlate information usage behavior, prophetic-humanization communication, and e-literacy. In addition, e-literacy impacts prophetic communication by changing how people use COVID-19 data. Only the level of learning and thinking abilities can fully demonstrate the good and significant impact of e-literacy skills through information behavior on humanization-prophetic communication. This study's relevance is that students should increase their e-literacy to communicate more prophetically and ethically using electronic media.
