Abstract

Indonesia is bestowed on vast areas for timber production. Furniture industries can get various raw materials for exporting products. The United States of America, China, and European Union are the potential market. Trade war between the USA and China enable Indonesia to improve its export to the USA. This phenomena intrigued researcher to describe Indonesian effort to boost its export to USA. Domestic barriers in Indonesia and the measures to improve the export will be described in-depth.Data come from secondary sources such as books, journals, news from magazines and newspapers, official documents from Indonesian governments, and websites. This documents will be analyzed to answer effective measures to boost export to the USA. Perspective of mercantilism, the level of analysis of the nation state and the theory of economic diplomacy will be utilized to describe the efforts. The research showed that Indonesian government and furniture associations play important role in improving the performance of the Indonesian’s furniture industry. Policies undertaken to increase US furniture exports include improving the quality of human resources through training, improving technology, lowering interest rates for loan, and increasing the quality and standardization of furniture. Promotion of national and international furniture products through exhibition as well as cooperation with IKEA is also carried out to improve and introduce furniture products to the world, especially in the United States.Keywords: Export, Furniture, Association of Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry (HIMKI), Indonesia, United States.

Abstract

Promotion is very important in developing tourism in an area. Geosite Sipinsur is a tourist attraction in the form of a nature conservation park and natural scenery featuring a view of Lake Toba and surrounded by pine forests. The Sipinsur Geosite is one of the main tourist areas in Humbang Hasundutan Regency and this area is still managed by the Regional Government. The purpose of this study was to determine the promotion strategy of the Humbang Hasundutan Regency Tourism Office in developing the Sipinsur Geosite tourism object through advertising, public relations and sales promotion activities.               This study used qualitative research methods. The data collection technique starts from observation, interview and documentation. For data analysis techniques refer to the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. Meanwhile, checking the validity of the data used the participation extension technique and triangulation.               The results of this study indicate that the Humbang Hasundutan Regency Tourism Office carries out a promotional strategy through advertising activities using printed media such as making brochures, leaflets, tourism books, stickers, 10 booklets, 2000 CDs of Tourism, newspapers and 1500 ex tourism maps. Electronic media by making shows on television broadcast on local TV, namely TV One North Sumatra, Cable TV such as: RMTV, CNN, Day TV and Efarina TV. Advertising also uses radios such as Pelita Batak and Anugerah and creates websites and social media accounts (Facebook). For outdoor media by installing baleho and 10 banners. The promotion strategy through public relations activities is carried out by holding outreach and discussions about sapta charm, holding coaching counseling for tourism business actors and participating in highland zone tourism guide activities held by the North Sumatra Provincial Tourism Office. The promotion strategy is through sales promotion activities by holding various activities such as the selection of tourism ambassadors, the Toba coffee festival, the Lake Toba festival, the charm of Humbahas and holding art and cultural performances as well as conducting tourism promotion activities in Jakarta. Keywords : Promotion Strategy, Tourism, Sipinsur Geosite

Abstract

Tourism has become a trend of modern human life, because this human activity has a broad dimension, not just to fulfill the need for fun to enjoy the trip, but this activity gives rise to a lot of artistic and cultural economic activity. Indonesia is one of the countries that has many interesting tourist destinations to visit. Pelalawan Regency has many tourism places that have great opportunities to develop rapidly, one of them is Tesso Nilo National Park with that the author takes the title of visitor’s assessment of accessibility to Tesso Nilo National Park, Pelalawan Regency which aims to determine the assessment of visitors who visit Tesso Nilo National Park and to find out the management’s efforts to improve accessibility to Tesso Nilo National Park, the researchers use Warpani theory (2002), which says that accessibility is defined as the level of ability to achieve or obtain the goods and services needed so that accessibility can be interpreted as the degree of ease achieved by people, to objects, services or the environment. This research was carried out for four months starting from April to July 2021. This research is a mixed methods research, the data collection technique uses observation, questionnaire, interview and documentation technique. Samples from the research are visitors and managers. The results of this recapitulation show that overall the respondents gave a not good assessment of accessibility to Tesso Nilo National Park and management’s efforts to improve accessibility are still in the planning stage.Keywords : Assessment, Visitors, Accessibility and National Park

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of human resources in a company to be able to produce quality products amid business competition in the globalization era. Human resources are an important role for the success of the PTPN V palm oil mill company Lubuk Dalam unit, Siak Regency because humans are living assets that need to be maintained and developed. To increase work productivity company employees must pay attention to what factors serve as a support in influencing work productivity. This research was conducted at the PTPN V palm oil mill company Lubuk Dalam unit, Siak Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of Employee Production Prooductivity at the PTPN V Oil Palm Plant in Lubuk Dalam unit, Siak Regency. The sample of this study was taken as many as 104 respondents but due to the impact of Covid19, the researchers only obtained 60 respondents using the sampling method. In this research the method used is descriptive and quantitative. Data obtained from interviews and questionnaires / questionnaires were then tested with statistics through the SPSS program. The analytical method used in this study is simple and multiple regression analysis, and by passing the validity test and the reliability test. In this study the results obtained were that Occupational Safety and Health (K3) had a positive and significant effect on Work Productivity, Work Discipline had a positive and significant effect on Work Productivity, and Occupational Safety and Health (K3) and Work Discipline had a positive and significant effect on Employee Productivity. at the Palm Oil Mill PTPN V Lubuk Dalam unit, Siak Regency.Keywords: Occupational Safety Health (K3), Discipline Work, Productivity Work

Abstract

The condition of the Siak River in Pekanbaru City is getting worse due to pollution from household waste and industrial waste. The quality of the Siak River must be considered so that it does not cause harm to water users. The location of the river in the downstream area makes the pollution load experienced by the Siak River even heavier and weak supervision and law enforcement also affects the decline in the quality of Siak River water. This study found that the supervision carried out by the Pekanbaru City Government, in this case the Pekanbaru City Environment and Sanitation Service (DLHK) Against Siak River Pollution in the Settlement Area of Kampung Dalam Village, was considered inadequate, this can be seen from the level of Siak River pollution which is still high enough. The supervisory steps carried out by the Office are as follows: Establishing Supervision Standards, Establishing the Implementation of Supervision Activities, Comparing the Implementation of Supervision Activities, Implementing Corrective Actions against River Pollution. The form of supervision carried out by the government on Siak river pollution in Kampung Dalam Sub-district is in the form of Preventive Supervision, namely in the form of an appeal to the public not to throw garbage into the Siak River stream and Repressive Supervision in the form of imposing sanctions on people who are caught throwing garbage into the Siak River. Obstacles in the implementation of supervision carried out by the Pekanbaru City Environment and Sanitation Service (DLHK) are: 1) Inadequate human resources in both quantity and quality 2) There are no clear regulations to regulate river pollution, especially the Siak River in Pekanbaru City, 3 ) lack of facilities and infrastructure such as a set of tools used to carry out the process of activities to realize the objectives to be achieved, and such as official vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, which will be used to go to the field to carry out supervisory activities, it is natural that the activities carried out by the Department of Environment and Sanitation (DLHK) Pekanbaru City is still not being implemented.  Keywords: Siak River Pollution Control

Abstract

The Malay community in Riau, especially in Mandah District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, since the era of reform and regional autonomy has experienced rapid development with various regional development activities. This encourages higher socio-cultural contact between the community and the outside world, supported by the rapid advancement of transportation and communication facilities. This condition of openness has brought about many changes in various aspects of community life, especially in the culture of Malay marriage which begins with the determination of criteria and the procession of choosing a mate in the process of discussing potential partners. Today, Malay women have changed in the choice of mate. Malays that are identical to Islam, it turns out that the criteria of religion and descent from the heritage of the past have changed towards an assessment of economic wealth with certain occupations of interest. This research tries to find out how the criteria and procession of mate selection among Malay women and how the changes that occur and the dominant factors that cause change. This type of research is descriptive quantitative by determining a number of 70 married women respondents. The results showed that the criteria for mate selection experienced significant changes from the criteria of religion, descent, occupation, wealth and education, to the dominant economic assessment, namely ownership of wealth with occupational professions that were of interest to be Tauke/ Juragan, borjuis, entrepreneur and civil servant. The existence of women in determining a more personal mate by changing the old tradition of matchmaking, because it is supported by adequate education, the dowry of marriage turns into a large enough amount of money as a guarantee for married life.  Keywords : Match Selection, Malay Woman and Change.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Hotel Dyan Graha Pekanbaru adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh citra perusahaan dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap loyalitas konsumen (Studi pada penjualan jasa kamar Hotel Dyan Graha Pekanbaru). Citra perusahaan dan Kualitas pelayanan sebagai variabel independen (X1X2) sementara itu loyalitas konsumen sebagai variabel dependen (Y). Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah jasa kamar Hotel Dyan Graha Pekanbaru yang mengalami fluktuasi dan cenderung menurun setiap tahunnya, bahkan tidak mencapai target penjualan. Terlihat dari presentasi realisasi penjualan jasa kamar hotel dalam 5 tahun terakhir. Sampel penelitian ini diambil sebanyak 100 responden dari populasi yang dihitung menggunakan rumus Slovin. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil kueisoner dan selanjutnya diolah untuk kemudian diuji dengan statistik melalui program SPSS. Dari hasil pengujian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa citra perusahaan dan kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh posistif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas konsumen (Studi pada penjualan jasa kamar Hotel Dyan Graha Pekanbaru).  Kata Kunci : Citra Perusahaan, Kualitas Pelayanan, Loyalitas Konsumen

Abstract

This study aims to describe the potential threat of transnational crime in the field of narcotics smuggling faced by the Government of Indonesia in the maritime border area of Rupat Island and to describe the strategy of the Indonesian Government in overcoming the threat of narcotics smuggling in the maritime border area of Rupat Island. In guiding data retrieval and discussion, this study uses a neorealism perspective that focuses on system structure, interacting units, and on system continuity and change with the main theory of decision making. This study used the descriptive qualitative method.The research found that: first, the sea border area of Rupat Island is vulnerable to the threat of narcotics smuggling from abroad. Its position in the waters of the Malacca Strait is a potential place for the smuggling of narcotics; second, in tackling the threat of narcotics smuggling, the Indonesian Government at least put forward a strategy to strengthen the border area by forming the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) and a strategy to strengthen the action to prevent the threat of Narcotics Smuggling by establishing the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).This study concludes that the Indonesian Government's strategy in tackling the threat of narcotics smuggling can conceptually be effective, but at the level of implementation in the maritime border area of Rupat Island, there are not many traces of it in strengthening national insight, strengthening defense and security, strengthening economic infrastructure and strengthening socio-culture. Abstract

This research tries to explain how the strategy and diplomacy conducted by Indonesia in resolving the Flight Information Region dispute in the Riau Island Province from Singapore. control of the flight information region which has been controlled by Singapore for a long time, which could harm National interests for a sovereign state of course air space is very important to protect the security and sovereignty of a country, so it is feared that it could disturb stability in the region and impact interests of Indonesia. This research uses the perspective of Neorealism, Neoralism moraemphasis on cooperation and the role of institution -  both government and non-government institutions in international relations. To bridge the problem with the hypothesis This research uses uses foreign policy theory, the level of nation-state analysis and the concept of national security. This research shows that Singapore control Indonesia sky was established at the ICAO convention in Dublin, Ireland, from March 1946 to the present. Indonesia has tried several solutions against Singapore and involved international organizations such as ICAO, but this has not been effective. The influence of Singapore FIR in Indonesia sovereignty and security can be seen from Indonesia airspace in The Riau Island which is a strategic airspace and is located in the Malacca Strait route. Therefore, Indonesia insists on trying to resolve this dispute so that it does not drag on and has a bad impact on the region and Indonesia own interests, this can be seen in the diplomacy carried out by Indonesia and producing a Framework for Negotiation of FIR Realignment, which was signed on 12 September 2019. Keyword : FIR, Dispute, Sovereignty, Security

Abstract

Schools. This research was conducted at the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School, whose research object was students at the MTs level who had never previously been students, namely the new students of the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School, teaching 2019/2020. This study aims to determine the adaptation strategy of the students of the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School. This research uses qualitative research methods, namely by conducting data collection, conducting interviews, managing and analyzing them by looking for and finding patterns, finding what can be learned and what is important, and deciding what to tell others later, also by way of calling. research documentation. In this study there were 5 (five) subjects, namely subjects of transitional age from children to adolescents. The results of this study state that these students adapt by getting used to the existing regulations in the Riau Technology Islamic Boarding School environment, the students also learn to adapt in managing both time and completing all the needs that exist in the pesantren environment, students can also adapt well to fellow students so that the students can create good togetherness with one another. Key Words: Adaptation, Student Islamic Boarding School
