Abstract

This article discusses Zillmer’s reserve in joined endowment life insurance for joint life status. Zillmer’s reserve is a reserve calculation of modified premium using prospective reserve and the size of Zillmer’s rate. This calculation is carried out by determined single premium, annual premium, and life annuity in advance based on Balducci’s assumption.

Abstract

This research is to determine the absorption of solar radiation by solar module which layered by polyester window films with the darkness of 40, 60, and 80% of the output power from the polycrystalline silicon solar module. It is then compared with the standard module. The current and voltage data of solar module are recorded by using Solar Charger Controller Model VS2024N every 1 hour from 10:00 am to 17:00 pm during 3 days. The solar module power output decreased with increasing the time. The power output of solar modules layered by window film influences significantly from 23.53% until 24.39%. The maximum output power is obtained from the window film darkness with level of 60%.

Abstract

This article discusses three type ratio estimators for population mean using coefficient of variation and coefficient of kurtosis on double sampling which is a review from the article of Singh et. al [Italian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics-N. 28(2011): 135-142]. The three estimators are biased estimators, then the mean square error of each estimator is determined. Estimator with the smallest mean square error is the most efficient estimator. Example is given at the end of discussion.

Abstract

> Cengar clay activated sulfuric acid (LCA) was a residual solids synthesized liquid coagulant. LCA was obtained after calcination process at 700°C for 3 hours and activated with sulfuric acid 0.2; 0.4 and 0.6 mol. LCA has been used as an adsorbent for the adsorption of methylene blue dye aqueous solution. Methylene blue adsorption capacity was determined by the effect of stirring time and the concentration of the adsorbate. Through the Langmuir isotherm models it was obtained that the maximum adsorption capacity of methylene blue by LCA0,2; LCA0,4 and LCA0,6 was 2,0214 mg/g; 3,3955 mg/g and 3,8402 mg/g respectively with stirring time of 10 minutes and the optimum concentration 40 ppm. This LCA actually be able to remove methylene blue by 50.51% (LCA0,2); 53.53% (LCA0,4) and 77.74% (LCA0,6).

Abstract

We discuss some identities of generalized Fibonacci sequence, (un), which satisfies linear homogeneous recurrence relations of order two having a non-zero constant coefficient. Then given some matrices, we show that the n-power of these matrices provide some identities for Pni=0 u2i , unun+2, and Pni=0 unun+1. At the end we give generating functions for unun+1 and unun+2.

Abstract

Pepin test provides a necessary and sufficient condition for a Fermat number to be a prime. Lucas-Lehmer test provides a necessary and sufficient condition for a Mersenne number to be a prime. In this article, we review a part of the work of Jaroma [European Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics Vol. 2, No. 3, 2009, (352-360)] that is the equivalence structure of Pepin test and Lucas-Lehmer test through Lehmer sequences so that both test can be used to check when a Fermat number or a Mersenne number to be a prime.

Abstract

Measurement of the noise level in the roadway of Pekanbaru-Bangkinang before building of Highway has been done. The sources of noise originated from the sound of vehicles that passed through the roadway. The level of noise has been measured by using a Sound Level Meter (SLM). The measurement of noise level carried out in two locations, first location was on roadway of Pekanbaru-Bangkinang KM 21 and the second location was at round aboard of Jalan Garuda Sakti and Jalan PekanbaruBangkinang. The noise level at first location was measured as a function of time from 07.00 until 18.00 pm during one week. In this research, the number of vehicles that passed through the first location have been counted every hour. Furthermore, the noise level was measured as a function of distance from the noise source using two SLMs, namely SLM type MS 6701 and SL 4112. The results showed that the noise level at the first location occurred on Saturday and Sunday at 16.00 to 18.00 with the highest value of 79.09 dBA and 78.28 dBA respectively, while the lowest noise value occurred on Friday at 12.00 to 13.00 pm with the value of 67.97 dBA. The highest noise level at the second location occurred at 17.00 to 18.00 with a value of 81.60 dBA. The value of noise level at the second location was higher compared to that of the first location. This was due to more number of vehicles that passed through that location compared to that of the first location. The profile of noise level occurred on Saturday was compared to that of the theoretical calculations. The result showed that both results had a similar characteristics. Moreover, the results of this research showed that the level of noise as a function of distance from the noise source was decrease with increasing the distance. The decrease of the noise level was caused by the absorption of the noise by the surrounding parameters such as air,vegetation and buildings nearby.

Abstract

The production of Ba1 -xSrxTiO3(BST) with composition x=0.1 0.2 and 0.3 with the difference temperature of 550, 600 and 650ºC on glass substrat with sol-gel method has been done succesfully. The aim of this research is to obtain the absorbancy and BST substance transmitancy with difference composition and temperature. The characterization was done by using Ultraviolet-Visible spectrophotometer. For composition x=0.1 the maximum absorbancy value on temperature 550, 600 dan 650ºC on each part are respectively 0.105a.u, 0.076a.u and 0.077a.u. For composition x=0.2 the maximum absorbancy value is 0.195a.u, 0.174a.u, and 0.132a.u. For composition x=0.3 the maximum absorbancy value is 0.316a.u, 0.147a.u and 0.108a.u. The maximum transmitancy value for x=0.1 on temperature 550, 600 and 650ºC on each part are respectively 97.9%, 97.7% and 96.6%, for composition x=0.2, each transmitancy value are 90.7%, 98.1% and 94.8%. Meanwhile for composition x=0.3 each transmitancy value is 88.5%, 80.3% and 93.7%. Those results indicate that the difference of temperature influences the absorbancy BST and the more composition of Srontium(Sr) is used, the bigger absorbancy is produced. For transmitancy value, BST is inversely proportional to absorbancy value.

Abstract

The mapping noise levels generated by the palm oil processing machine in PT. Tasma Puja Kab. Kampar, Riau by using grid method has been conducted . The result was the noise intensity of the lowest to the highest one at 121 points in a safe area. The intensity was described in mapping using "Software Surfer 11", which generates the contour then combine with the location of PT. Tasma Puja indicated by different colors: black, blue, sky blue, green, yellow, red and purple. The highest intensity was located at the coordinates N 010 18.735 and E 1010 01.204, 98 dB was indicated by the color purple which the temperature reaches 400C, the lowest noise intensity is N 010 18.710 and E 1010 01.172 and 46 dB shown by the black color where the temperature reaches 290C. The higher temperature is due to the higher the intensity of the noise. The lower air temperature will have the lower the intensity noise. Based on the results at PT. Tasma Puja, there are several locations has exceeded the value of the noise quality standards established by the labor minister's decision number: KEP-51 / MEN / 1999. i,e 85 dB.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the diversityand abundance of macrozoobenthos in the water creeks of Batang Lubuh, Rambah District. The samples of macrozoobenthos had been taken from 5 stations using Eckman grab. Based on theresults, macrozoobenthos which were consisted of 9 species belongs to three classes ie. Gastropoda, Oligochaeta, andInsecta. The average abundance of macrozoobenthos ranged from 45 to1273 Ind/m2. Composition of macrozoobenthos was dominated by Gastropods (75,36%). The hishest abudance was obtained at station I (1408 ind/m2) and the lowest abudance was obtained at station II (45 ind/m2). The highest diversity Index (H’) of macrozoobenthos was found at Station I (1,971) and the lowest was found at Station II (0), mean while the highest dominance Index of macrozoobenthos was found at Station II (1) and the lowest was found at Station I (0.288). The analysis of water physical and chemical indicated thatthe correlation between diversity of macrozoobenthos and turbidity and also orthoposfat was negative, while the other parameters were positive.
