Abstract

The needs of wood as a main ingredient of paper is constantly increasing. To overcome its problem one of the alternative solution is  Industrial Plantation  Forest  (HTI). Eucalyptus pellita is one of the type which is developed for HTI that is necessary to be provided adequate and quality seeds, it is necessary to propagation the plant of Eucalyptus pellita. Stump out of the wood Eucalyptus pellita can produce the new coppice that can produce seed plants and can be developed by propagation of plants as vegetative by cuttings. One of the factors that affect the success rate of cuttings is the planting media. The problem is what is the proper planting media in developing the growth of coppice cuttings from the stump of the wood Eucalyptus pellita. The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriate planting media to be used on coppice cuttings from the rest of the harvest Eucalyptus pellita. The method used in this study is Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results showed that the use of planting media peat or compost and rice husk or compost and rice husk with a ratio of 3:1 and 1:1 as well as the addition of coconut fiber powder at the top of the media can be used as a planting medium coppice cuttings from stump rest of logging Eucalyptus pellita. Keywords: coppice, cuttings, planting media, Eucalyptus pellita

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to obtain the effect of drying time on antioxidant activity and to obtain the best quality herbal tea fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amarylifollius Roxb.,). This study used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were herbal tea fragrant pandan leaves are P1 (drying 110 minutes), P2(drying 130 minutes), P3 (drying 150 minutes), P4 (drying 170 minutes) and P5 (drying 190 minutes). Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and DNMRT at 5% level. The results showed that the drying time significantly affected the moisture content, ash content, antioxidant activity and sensory assessment (descriptive and hedonic). The treatment chosen from the results of this research was the treatment P3(Drying 150 minutes). Treatment of P3 had a water content of 5,17%, ash content of 3,30% and antioxidant activity (IC50) of  5,68 ppm. Rate sensory descriptive and hedonic herbal tea fragrant pandan leaves treatment P3 had the colour of powdered tea that was green and the colour of brewed tea was a little green, the aroma of tea powder was scented fragrant pandan leaves and the aroma was brewed tea wasa little scented fragrant pandan leaves, taste steeping tea was a little astringent. The overall assessment of herbal tea steeping fragrant pandan leaves was slightly favored and tea powder was too slightly favored by the panelists. Keywords: herbal tea, pandan fragrance, antioxidant activity and drying time.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the best mix combination of sago starch and modified cassava flour (mocaf flour) to make fish cork nugget, which meets chemical standards and sensory assessment. The study was conducted by Non-factorial Fully Randomized Design, with five treatments with four repetition. Treatments were indicated by PT1 (sago starch 15, mocaf flour 0), PT2 (sago starch 10, mocaf flour 5), PT3 (sago starch 7.5, mocaf flour 7.5), PT4 (sago starch 5, mocaf flour 10), PT5 (sago starch 0, mocaf flour 15). Changing in water, ash, fat, protein and carbohydrate percentage was observed and sensory assessment (descriptive and hedonic) in food color, aroma, taste and texture was also applied. Data was analyzed by ANOVA and DNMRT with 5% error. The result indicated that the treatments was significance. The best treatment is PT4 (sago starch 5 and mocaf flour 10) that gives 51.86% water, 2.23 % ash, 13.38% fat, 17.29% protein and 15.24% carbohydrate.  Keywords: Sago starch, modified cassava flour and fish cork nugget.

Abstract

Indonesia has the potential of megabiodiversity because it has the most completely in the world’s biodiversity. Many potentials of tourism scattered through out indonesia archipelago which can be calculated fairly gobal appeal. One of the districts located in kepulauan Riau Province is kepulauan Anambas regency. Kepulauan Anambas Regency has natural forest and potential of nature ecotourism in the form of temburun waterfall flowing directly into the sea as the greatest potential in Anambas Regency as tourism attraction. This study aims to know the leisure of visitors to Temburun Waterfall Kepulauan Anambas Regency Kepulauan Riau Province and analyze the condition on infrastructure in Temburun waterfall Kepulauan Anambas Regency  in kepulauan Riau province. This study using observation, quitionnaire and literature study. The result showed that visitor’s leisure in ecotourism Temburun waterfall Anambas regency relatively high with percentage of 92% of the 100% visitors who visited temburun waterfall and the infrastructure is something that influence each other and can not be separated by the sustainablity of tourism activities, for the state of infrastructure at the site of Temburun waterfall is quite good.Keywords : Ecotourism, Temburun Waterfall, Kepulauan Anambas

Abstract

The research aimed were to get the best jam from papaya fruit pulp and tamrillo fruit pulp. The experiment research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 5 treatments as follows: PT1 (80% papaya pulp and 20% tamarillo pulp), PT2 (65% papaya pulp and 35% tamarillo pulp), PT3 (50% papaya pulp and 50% tamarillo pulp), PT4 (35% papaya pulp and 65% tamarillo pulp), and PT5 (20% papaya pulp and 80% tamarillo pulp). The data obtained were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and DNMRT at 5% level. The best treatment jam of this resarch was the jam from treatment of PT5 (20% papaya pulp and 80% tamarillo pulp). The best treatment has moisture content 21.22%, ash content 0.26%, total dissolved solids content 65.33%, fiber content 2.44% and acidity level 3.80%, assessment of sensory test of the best treatment jam very red color, very flavorful tamarillo fruit, slightly sour sweet taste, soft texture and overall assessment of jam favored by panelist. Keywords: Jam, papaya and tamarillo.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze feasibility proper by using dump of cow waste to produce biogas. This research was to take a place at livestock Pondok Pesantren Khairul Ummah, conduct from Maret-April 2014. The used of data is primary data and secondary data, that have a simillar in quality and quantity.            The value of investment criteria was used in this research is : Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio(Net B/C), Internal Rate ofReturn (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and Analysis of Sensitivity if cost for cow waste has changed 10%. The value of  Social Opportunity of Capital (SOCC) as discount factor is 12%. The value of Net Present Value (NPV) during age of business activity of equal toRp. 306.352.725,46. The value of Net Benefit Cost Ratio(Net B/C) is 5,14, that was meaning output Rp.1,00 will give back Rp. 5,14. The value of IRR is 51,53%, it was meaning the ability toreturn the capital is more than discount factor, and Payback Period of equal to28,61 months or about 4 year and 7 months, and it’s meaning return of investation  the biodygester operate obtained after 4 years and 7 months. Analysissensitivity of the changed of cost input around 10%, NPV of equal toRp.232.770.721,58. The result of this search shows the development biogasat livestock Pondok Pesantren Khairul Ummah is feasible to be implement and develope. Keyword : biogas, investment criteria, financial analysis

Abstract

Fruit jam is a semi-wet food processed  product from a mixture of fruit juice and  sugar. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of ratio of pineapple and rosella petals on the jam quality. This research used a Completely Randomized Design experiment with five treatments and three replications. The  treatments were NR1 (pineapple puree and rosella petal puree 90:10), NR2 (pineapple puree and rosella petal puree  80:20), NR3 (pineapple puree and rosella petal puree 70:30) and NR4 (pineapple puree and rosella petal puree 60:40) and NR5 (pineapple puree and rosella petal puree 50:50). The value of observation were analyzed using Analysis of Varians followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test on 5% level. The result showed that the ratio of pineaple and rosella petals puree significantly affected  the moisture, total dissolved solid, ash , pectin and sucrose contents, antioxidant activity, descriptive test of color, flavour, taste and texture. The best treatment was NR1 with moisture content 29.21%, total dissolved solids 89.80%, ash content 0.36%, pectin  1.62%, sucrose 57.34% and antioxidant activity 25.31 ppm, dark red color, flavourful pineapple and rosella, pineapple taste, soft texture of jam.Keywords: Jam, pineapple, rosella petal.

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) is one of the horticultural commodities which have commercial prospects and quite good. This study aimed determine the effect of application the best fermented cow urine concentration on growth and yield of lettuce plants. This research was conducted at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Campus Bina Widya Simpang Baru village Panam District of Tampan, Pekanbaru in October to December 2016. This study was conducted experimentally using RAL 5 treatments with 3 replications. The treatments were P1: POC cow urine concentration of 30%, Q2: POC cow urine concentration of 35%, P3: POC cow urine concentration of 40%, P4: POC cow urine concentration of 45% and P5: POC cow urine concentration of 50%. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance followed by DNMRT at 5% level. The Parameters measured were plant height, leaf number, fresh weight and plant fresh weight unfit for consumption. The results showed that administration of fermented cow urine at a concentration of 45% indicates growth and better results on all parameters of lettuce plants and the use of cow urine concentration of 35% can be recommended to be applied. Keywords: Growth and yield, lettuce, POC fermented cow urine

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of sludge and liquid manure as well as to obtain the best dose of sludge and liquid fertilizer for the growth of oil palm seedlings in ultisol media. Research conducted at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Pekanbaru. The study was conducted during the four months from April to August 2015. The study conducted an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the sludge (S), which consists of 4 levels and the second factor is fertilizer complementary liquid (P) consisting of 3 levels. Comparisons between treatment parameters observed were seedling height, number of leaves, the girth, shoot to root ratio, root volume, seedlings dry weight using ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test level of 5%. The results showed that the application of sludge and PPC has no significant effect on seedling height, number of leaves, girth, shoot to root ratio, seedling dry weight and root volume. Sludge 75 g / polybag and PPC 4 cc / l applications on pre nursery oil palm seedlings in ultisol media tend to improve seedling height, number of leaves, wrap tubers, roots canopy ratio, seedling dry weight and root volume. Keyword : Coconut Oil, Sludge, Fertilizer Complement Liquid, Ultisol

Abstract

This research aims is to determine the increase of onion production by giving chicken manure and KCl as a source of nutrients and to find out the combinations of chicken manure and KCl fertilizer is the best to increase the production of onion. The experiment was conducted in the experimental station of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau Campus Bina Widya Km 12,5 Simpang Baru Village Tampan Sub District Pekanbaru. This research was conducted from February to May 2017. This study used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) which consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the application of chicken manure (P) which are without chicken manure, 10 ton/ha and 20 ton/ha. The second factor is the application of KCl (K) fertilizer which are without KCl fertilizer, 200 Kg/ha, 300 Kg/ha and 400 Kg/ha. Parameters observed were the number of leaf per clumps, number of tubers per clumps, tuber perimeter, fresh tuber weight per plot, weight of worth saving tuber per plot, dry weight per clumps, production efficiency based on K fertilizer. The data obtained were analyzed statistically with variance and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The results showed that the interaction of chicken manure and KCl fertilizer can improve all observation parameters, to obtain growth and production of onion crops can be given the treatment of chicken manure dose of 20 ton/ha and treatment of KCl fertilizer dose of 300 kg/ha.Keywords: onion, chicken manure, KCl fertilizer
