Abstract

The purpose of this research are: 1) Assessing the level of empowerment program members of farmer groups Integrated Farming Systems PT. RAPP in Siak, 2) Assess the degree of independence of members of farmers program Integrated Farming Systems PT. RAPP in Siak, 3) Knowing the empowerment level relationship with the level of independence of farmers program Integrated Farming Systems PT. RAPP in Siak. This study was conducted in Siak district, which includes three sub-districts right kerinci, District and Sub-District Dayun River Apit starting from September 2015 to January 2017. The determination of sampling determined by purposive sampling with the consideration that the farmer who made the respondent is a member of the built members of farmer groups PT. RAPP program received Integrated Agricultural Systems, members of farmer groups most active members, assistance programs Integrated Farming System representing all farmer groups. The number of respondents as many as 30 people. The analysis using Likert scale and Rank Spearman correlation analysis. The results of this study show that: 1) The level of empowerment members of farmer groups in the program Integrated Farming Systems Siak Regency included in the category of Most Powerful. 2) The level of independence of members of farmer groups in Siak program Integrated Farming Systems included in the High category. 3) Relationship level of empowerment to the level of independence of members of farmers Integrated Farming Systems program showed a positive correlation (Unidirectional). Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of Trichokompos TKKS on the growth of cocoa seeds (Theobroma cacao L.). Research has been conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. This study was conducted from June 2016 to September 2016. This research was experimental research by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consisted of 5 TKKS trichokompos treatments, consisted of: 0 g/5 kg soil (T0), 25 g/5 kg soil (T1), 50 g/5 kg soil (T2),     75 g/5 kg soil (T3) and 100 g/5 kg soil (T4). Each treatment was repeated 4 times , in order to obtain 20 unit experiments which consist of 3 seeds, in which 2 seeds as sample plants and it obtained 60 plant seeds. The observed parameters were a height plant, stem diameter, number of leaves, root shoots ratio and dry weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was tested with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at 5 % level. The result of this research showed that the giving of trichokompos TKKS gave significant result towards all of observation parameters. Based on the result, the giving of trichokompos TKSS with dose 75 g/5 kg soil was better to improve the growth of cacao seeds. Keywords : the growth of, cacao seedlings, Trichokompos TKKS.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of adding corn flour and tempe flour into crackers. An experimental study was conducted by using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatments in this study include JT0 (Corn flour 100%), JT1 (Corn flour 90% and tempe flour 10%), JT2 (Corn flour 80% and tempe flour 20%), JT3 (Corn flour 70% and tempe  flour 30% ) and JT4 (Corn flour 60% and 40% tempe flour). The data were analyzed using variance analysis followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a rate of 5%. The result of variance analysis indicated that there is no significant influence of ash content but have significant effects on water content before frying, water content after frying, protein content, sensory assessment of color, flavour, taste, crispness and an overall assessment of the crackers. The best treatment in this study was JT1 with water content before frying of 13.68%, water content after frying of 8.40%, protein content of 6.19%, ash content of 2.23% and descriptive sensory assessments of brownish yellow (3.88), tempe flavored (2.92), rather corny and tempe in flavour (3.52), slightly crunchy (2.40) as well as an overall assessment of crackers is 2.99 (liked). Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out the best dose against the growth of seedlings of cacao. This research was carried out experimentally using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replication, so that there were obtained 20 units experimental each unit countain  2 plant. The treatmentsof fermented manure dosage with TSP fertilizer enriched are: 0 ml/plant,250 ml/plant, 500 ml/plant,750 ml/plant, and 1000 ml/plant. Data obtained from research results are analyzed statistically and further test Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) level of 5%. The observed parameters werecrop, height increase the number of leaves, stem diameter, dry weight and root shoots ratio. The results showed that giving doses of 750 ml/plant gives influenced the growth of seedlings of cocoa and cocoa seedling growth can increase seen in high value added plant parameters, number of leaves, stem diameter, and dry weight of cocoa seedlings.The application of the fermentation of solid dung and urine TSP fertilizer enriched cow can increase the growth of seedlings of cocoa looks at the crop height increase, number of leaves, stem diameter, and dry weight of cocoa seedlings. fermentation of solid dung and urine enriched cow manure is best at doses of TSP dosing 750 ml/plant. the dose is 1000 ml/plant, no longer affected the growth of the seedlings.Keyword : The growth of, cacao seedlings, fermentation, solid dung and cow urine, TSP fertilizer

Abstract

Complex virus disease on red chilli plants is a disease caused by infection of some viruses. The disease can decrease red chilli yield up to 75%. Alternative control method is to induce plant resistance by aplication of Trichoderma sp. which is applied as of Trichocompost. This study aims to study the effect of application of various doses of Trichocompost and obtain the best dose to control the disease and to increase red chilli plant’s growth and yield. This research has been conducted experimentally by using a complete random design consisting of 5 treatments (0, 50, 100, 150 dan 200 g/plant) and 4 replications. The data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was compared by using Duncan 's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The results showed that the application of some doses of Trichocompost could induce chilli plant resistance and decrease the intensity of complex virus disease and increase number of fruits and fruit weight. Dose of 150 g/plant gave a better effect in controling complex virus disease as much as 62,62% and increase height of plant, number of fruits and fruit weight. Key words : Red chilli, complex virus, dose Trichocompost, resistance induction

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence and best treatment of cocoa fruit skin compost on the growth of hybrid cocoa seeds. This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau, Bina Widya Campus, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 4 months starting from April to August 2016. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 6 treatments: K0 (without compost), K1 (12.5 g), K2 (25 g), K3 (37.5 g), K4 (50 g), and K5 (62.5 g) cocoa peel compost per polybag and repeated 3 times, to obtain 18 units of experiment. Each unit of experiment consists of 2 plants and at the same time made the sample so that there are 36 plants. Parameters observed were number of leaves, plant height, leaf area, stem circumference, and root canopy ratio. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that the giving of cocoa leaf compost gave a real effect on the growth of plant height, leaf area, and stem circumference. Provision of 12.5 g / polybag cocoa leaf compost is the best treatment on plant height parameters, leaf area, and stem circumference. Keywords :Theobroma cacao L, compost, nursery.

Abstract

This research aims to look at the interaction effect of bio-slurry giving solid and NPK fertilizer tablets, as well as to stroke the best dose of bio-slurry solid manure and NPK tablet to increase the growth and production of sweet corn. improve (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt). The research was conducted at the test farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Campus Bina Widya, New Simpang Village, District Handsome, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted in September-November 2017. The study consisted of two factors. The first factor is a fixed dose of Bio-Slurry consisting of three levels, namely B0: 0 kg per plot, B1: 7.5 kg per plot and B2: 15 kg per plot. The second factor talet NPK (10:10:14) consists of three levels, namely P0: 0 tablets per plant, P1: 2 tablets per plant and P2: 4 tablets per plant. Of the two factors above 9, treatment combinations were obtained and each was repeated three times, resulting in 27 graphs of experimental units. Data obtained from observations were statistically analyzed using SAS System Version 9.20. The results of the multiplication analysis were continued with Duncan's multiple-range test at 5% level. The observed parameters were plant height, time of male flower, time of female flower, flask diameter, length of tuna, harvest age and cob weight without clot per sample. Increasing doses of bio-slurry solids and NPK tablet improve plant growth and high production, while male flowers, while female flowers, corn cob diameter, corn cob length, corn cob weight and age of the sweet corn crop. Giving solid biological slurry of 15 kg per plot and NPK 100 tablets per plot yields the best growth and production of sweet corn plants. Keywords: Sweet corn, bio-slurry, fertilizer NPK tablet

Abstract

Banana flour is the result of grinding of dried banana or banana gaplek. Kepok  banana (Musa paradisiaca formatypica) is quite perspective in the development of local food sources because banana can grow in various regions in Indonesia so that fruit production is always available.  Banana fruit quickly damage after harvest. To overcome the damage, the banana was processed into flour so as to increase the economic value of kepok banana.  This research aimed to determine the quality of kepok banana flour produced with various levels of fruit maturity.   Method used in this study was Completely Ramdomized Design Experiment which consists of 4 treatments and 4 replications. Data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (Anova), if Fcount ≥ Ftable then continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) test at 5% level.  The results showed that the level of maturity of banana fruit significantly affected the moisture, ash and starch contents as well as the color and flavor of banana flour.The selected treatment was treatment P2 which produced the best quality of banana flour withmoisture content 4.74%, ash 1.59%, starch 51.05%, aroma with score 3 (slightly banana-scented ), color with a score of 3 (yellowish white) and the overall hedonic test panelis gave a score of 4 (like). Keywords: kepok banana, flour banana

Abstract

 Fruit flay is a pests of the citrus orange in Kampar District. Observation species and population fruit fly pest to determine the pest control. This study aims to determine the type and population fruit fly (Bactrocera spp.) That attack citrus plants and fruit flies attack percentage in the village of Kuok, Kampar. Research has been conducted with a purposive sampling method with the criteria citrus orchards and attack fruit fly pests. The observation did on two gardens to be attacked with fruit flay that Rudi pack with an area of 0.5 ha and 0.25 ha Ahmad garden with a distance that is 6 x 6 m. Plant samples selected systematically method with zig-zag pattern. Intake of fruit flies imago done in two ways: first, by making use of petrogenol traps the observed daily for 7 days. Second, making fruit on the ground attacked performed once at the start of the study. The parameters measured were the description of the location, species and population fruit fly, the percentage of attacks. Datas were analyzed statistically do tabulation and calculated the average population and deskription in tables, and images. The results of such studies fruit flies were caught in the petrogenol trap is B. carambolae, B. papayae and B. umbrosa. Species B. carambolae the highest population obtained in the village of Kuok, percentage of fruit flies attack on citrus plant in the village of Kuok relatively low at 3.42%. Keywords: Citrus nobilis Lour, Bactrocera spp., Species and populations

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to understand the method of packaging and cold storage and characteristic changes that occur in banana blossom and catfish meatballs during storage. This study used Factorial Randomized Design with 2 factor treatments, cold storage (±0oC, ±5oC, dan ±10oC) and packaging method (vacum and non-vacum) with 3 replications. The treatments in this research include T1M1 (vacuum method at ±0oC), T1M2 (non-vacuum method at ±0oC), T2M1 (vacuum method at ±5oC), T2M2 (non-vacuum method at ±5oC), T3M1 (vacuum method at ±10oC), T3M2 (non-vacuum method at ±10oC). The result of analysis showed that vacuum and non-vacuum method at cold storage was not significantly affect the water content, ash content, protein content, lipid content, total microbial and organoleptic assessment during storage of 2 days, 4 days, and 6 days. The best treatment combination was (T1M1) 6nd day with water content 74,06%, ash content 1,57%, protein content 12,73%, lipid content 4,46%, and total microbial 8,67 x 106  colony/ml.white, slightly slimy appearance, tyish Keywords: Catfish meatball, packaging method, cold storage
