Abstract

1. Mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau2. Dosen Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau  Tomatoes are seasonal vegetable crops that consumed in a fresh food and contain vitamins and minerals. In 2015 tomato production in Riau Province decreased by 27 tons from 2014 due to the conversion of agricultural land and unproductive land. This study aims to determine the effect of acacia leaf compost application and get the best dose that can increase the growth and yield of tomato plants. Field experiments were performed using a completely non factorial randomized design (RAL) with three replications. The doses of acacia leaf compost used were 10 ton.ha-1, 20 ton.ha-1  dan 30 ton.ha-1. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using SAS application program. The data were significantly different then tested further by testing duncan's new multiple range test (DNMRT) at 5% level. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, age of first harvest, number of fruit, weight per fruit, fruit twining and fruit weight per plant. The results showed that acacia leaf compost treatment did not give significant effect to plant height parameters, flowering age, harvest age, weight per fruit, and fruit girth. Parameters that show the real effect of the number of fruit and weight of fruit per plant. Keywords : Acacia leaf compos and tomatoes

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using LCC Mucuna bracteataon three of land slope to soil chemical properties and root growth of immature oil palms. This research conducted in PTPN V Unit Lubuk Dalam, Siak and analysis of soil chemistry in the soil Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau. This research conductedjanuary to june 2016. The research used split plot design. The level of land slope (K) as the main plot consists of: K1 = slope 2%, K2 = 7%, K3 = 13%. Mucuna bracteata(M) as the subplot consist of: M0 = cleaned Mucuna bracteata and M1 = overgrown Mucuna bracteata. The variabels observed were soil pH, organic-C, total-N, total-P, total-K, cation excharge capacity, base saturation, root dry weight, root volume and root occupy. The results showed: (1) the interaction between slope level and used of Mucuna bracteatadid not effect all parameters of soil chemical properties and root growth; (2) at the overgrown LCC Mucuna bracteata, soil pH, organic-C, total-N, total-P, total-K, cation excharge capacity, exchangeable bases (Ca, Mg, Na dan K), base saturation is more higher compared with the cleaned LCC Mucuna bracteataland; (3) The different level of land slope (%) has  the different soil pH, organic-C, total-P, total-K, cation excharge capacity. The more higher of the land slope (%) so soil pH, organic-C, total-P, total-K, cation excharge capacity become lower; And (4) using of Mucuna bracteata, slope level and the interaction between slope level and used of Mucuna bracteatawas not effect toroot dry weight, root volume and root occupy.  Keywords: Mucuna bracteata, land slope and soil chemical properties

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the influence of tofu compost, NPK fertilizer and its interaction and to get the dose which gives the highest influence on growth and production of sweet corn plant (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt). This research was conducted at Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Campus Bina Widya KM 12,5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru City for four months starting from April to July 2017. This research was conducted experimentally using Randomized Block Design ) Factorial, which consists of 2 factors. First : The dosage compost (K) is:      K0 = 0 ton.ha-1, K1 = 10 ton.ha-1, K2 = 20 ton.ha-1.Second : Dose of NPK 16: 16: 16 fertilizer (P): P1 = 250 kg.ha-1 NPK, P2 = 300 kg.ha-1 NPK, P3 = 350 kg.ha-1 NPK. The results showed that tofucompost's dosage of 20 ton.ha-1 and NPK 350 kg.ha-1 fertilizer gave the highest yield on weight parameters by the cob without weight, length of the cob, number of seedsrow of cob, number of seeds row and fresh cob with the best quality of cornhusk.Keywords:Compost of tofu dregs, NPK fertilizer, sweet corn plant.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the position of the product and the best sponge kemojo attributes from various kinds of sponge kemojo are used, such sponge Kemojo Cik Puan, sponge Kemojo Khadizah, sponge Kemojo Mega Rasa, sponge Kemojo Kembang Sari, sponge Kemojo Insan Sukses, sponge Kemojo Helmi, sponge Kemojo AL-Mahdi. To determine the level of consumer preference to a product. In addition there was still a lack of effort in developing products towards the manufacturer at this time. This research was conducted by mapping methods of internal and external preferences with objects of eight different product types. Sensory analysis used were hedonic and descriptive test. The results of cluster analysis of hedonic test and the main component analysis of the descriptive test were then analyzed by using the preference mapping technique, with the sensory attributes used in sponge kemojo products taste pandanus, sweetness, burning, testeful, green color, aroma of eggs, caramel, tenderness in the mouth, legit, vacancy rate, subtlety of texture. From the results of the analysis conducted, the productssponge sponge Cik Puan products and sponge Kembang Sari most favored by the panelists.Keyword:sponge kemojo, preference mapping.

Abstract

The aim of this study to improve tomato production by granting several concentrations of paclobutrazol and its application on differents time. This study was used a completely randomized factorial design 4 x 2 in three replications. The first factors was the paclobutrazol concentrate (K) in four levels (k0= No paclobutrazol, k1= 300 ppm, k2= 600 ppm and k3= 900 ppm. The second factors was the application time of paclobutrazol (A), in two levels  (a1= 20th days after planting,  a2= 30th days after planting).  The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and mean separations with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The result showed that there was no interaction between the paclobutrazol concentrate with the application time of paclobutrazol on variable of tomato observed. Paclobutrazol concentrate or its application time effected to plant height and number of flower. Paclobutrazol 300 ppm to 900 ppm concentrate hold up tomato plant height and reduce the number of flower. Application of paclobutrazol 20th days after planting hold up tomato plant height and reduce the number of flower. Keywords: Paclobutrazol concentrate, Different time of application, Tomato.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of K fertilizer and POC concentration, and to get the best combination between K fertilizer and POC concentration for the growth and production of shallot plant (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research was conducted in experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted for three months, from February to April 2017. The experiment was conducted experimentally in the field using factorial CRD, consisting of two factors and 3 replications. The first factor is potassium fertilizer (KCl): K1: 300 kg.ha-1, K2: 400 kg.ha-1, K3: 500 kg.ha-1. The second factor is POC concentration: P0: 1 ml.l-1, P1: 3 ml.l-1, P2: 6 ml.l-1. Parameters observed in this study were: number of leaves (sheet), plant height (cm), harvest age (dap), number of tubers (fruit), tuber (cm), fresh weight of tubers (g.ha-1) and bulbs dry weight (g.ha-1). The test results were further tested using Duncan's multiple-range test at a 5% level. The results showed that the combination of KCl 500 kg.ha-1 and POC 6 ml.l-1 were the best doses in increasing plant height, tuber count, tuber bulbs, fresh weight of tubers and bulbs dry weight. Keywords: Potassium fertilizer, POC, shallot

Abstract

Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim (Tahura SSH) is a monument of natural forest in Riau province. Tahura SSH has kind of plants that have benefit medicinal. One of kind medicinal plants in Tahura SSH and has benefit is pasak bumi plant. The purpose this research to know distribution of pasak bumi in the main line patrol Tahura SSH in Riau province. This research using census method to make line transect. Using the analysis of Morisita index as a form of pasak bumi plant distribution along the Tahura Sultan SyarifHasyim’s mainline patrol formed a clustered pattern with values >1 for the right side of the line 5,78 and 4,90 for the left side of the line. Keywords: Distribution pattern, Medicinal plant, Pasak bumi, the main line patrol,Tahura

Abstract

The research does to increase of palm oil seedling on waterlogging growth with foliar fertilizer and gibberellins application. Research conducted in research farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from September until Desember 2016. This research arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design Factorial with 3 replication. Factor I is concentrate of foliar fertilizer  (D) consist of d0 = no foliar fertilizer (0 ppm), d1 = foliar fertilizer 1,500 ppm, d2 = foliar fertilizer 3,000 ppm and factor II is concentrate of gibberellins (G) consist of g0 = no gibberellins (0 ppm), g1 = gibberellins 5,000 ppm, g2 = gibberellins 10,000 ppm. The observed does: height of seedling, amount of leaf midrib, diameter of tubercle, amount of adventif root, volume of root, shoot root ratio and quality index of seedling. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Orthogonal at level of 5%. The result showed that interaction of foliar fertilizer and gibberellin only occured at inisiation of adventif root. The foliar fertilizer influent to establishment of adventif root and shoot root ratio, while gibberellins influent to height of seedling and establishment of adventif root. Quality Index of seedling in this research fulfill requirement criteria of palm oil seedling growth. Keywords: palm oil seedling, waterlooging stress, foliar fertilizer and gibberellin

Abstract

Development of wet land paddy farming in Benai Sub-district still faces various problems. This can be seen from the level of development of planting area and production and income received by farmers is relatively low. The purpose of this research is to know the cultivation of rice field cultivation and to analyze the income of rice field farming in Benai Sub-district of Kuantan Singingi Regency. The study used a survey method conducted from September to December 2016. A total of 80 farmers. The results showed that the land area of paddy farmers in Benai sub-district was 0.33125, the average per planted area was 1.389.38, the average of the total amount of fertilizer used was 393,073.80, the average per area of pesticide use was 330,698.80 and the average Per unit of labor usage of 14.875.52. Rice farm income average - Rp. 3,829,767.5 with the price of wet grain of Rp. 4000, the average production per cultivated area of 1,389.38 Kg and obtained R / C Ratio of 3.68. Keyword : Paddy Rice, Farming, Hospitality, Revenue

Abstract

The purposes of this research about the agricultural extension field and farmer perceptions for importance the role of extension Arabica Coffee plantations in Purba District Simalungun Regency North Of Sumatera Province is: 1. To determind the organizing of extension Arabica Coffee. 2. To determind the agricultural extension field perceptions for the importance the role of extension arabica coffee plantations. The method taked of data used is a survey method. Sample in the research is extension field and farmer, intake of agricultural extension field  respondents with census method amount 10 people and intake of farmer respondents with purposive sampling with considering 4 chosen villages whose numbers of farmers are the highest and chosing 2 villages that was trained by a civil-servant trainer, selecting 10 people of each village. The number of farmers chosen as samples in total is 60 farmers of total 14 villages. They are members of farmer groups with consideration on number of members and the status of the group. Data analysis uses a Scale Likert’s Summated Rating (SLR). Variables used in this research is by comparing those of Mardikanto and Law No. 16 of  2006 as many as 9 variables. The results of this study are that organizing of extension in Purba District has been carried out well in accordance with counselling elements. Counseling has a perceptions the role of extension Arabica Coffee plantations gives an average score of 3.94 with an “Important” category.
