Abstract

This research aim is to determine the characteristics of genotypes of chili and to leard the genetic relationship between the tested genotypes on peatlands. This research lasted from January to June 2013 in peatland experimental garden, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang district Kampar regency. The experimental design used was randomized block design which is consist by 15 treatment with three replications then obtained 24 units of the experiment. There are two parameters observed on this research, quantitative and qualitative parameters. Qualitative parameters analyzed statistically by using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%, meanwhile qualitative parameters used for Cluster Analysis referring to Descriptor For Capsicum (IPGRI). Results showed that there are 15 genotypes of chilli differences and similarities based on quantitative and qualitative parameters. The genetic relationship from tested genotypes seen in the qualitative parameters (number of flower per axil, corolla colour, corolla spot colour, filament colour, corolla shape, fruit colour intermediate phase, fruit shape, fruit point shape and the structure of fruit point shape). Keyword : Capsicum annuum L, peatland, characterization, Cluster Analysis

Abstract

The aim of this research are to determine the effect of mycorrhizal biofertilizer, rock phosphate and interaction on growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt). This research was conducted experimentally by using Randomized Design Group (RDG) factorial with two factors namely mycorrhizal biofertilizer and rock phosphate with 3 replications. The parameters focus on plant height, the number of leaves, leaf weight, trunk diameter, when the pistil appear, when the pollen arise, harvest age, cob weight per cornhusk/m2, cob weight without cornhusk/m2, cob diameter, cob length, the number of rows per cob and the percentage of infected mycorrhizal roots. The result of this research shows that the interaction of mycorrhizal biofertilizer and rock phosphate and the main factor rock phosphate there is no real effect to all the parameters, whereas the main factor mycorrhizal biofertilizer significantly effect the parameters of trunk diameter, cob length, and percentage of mycorrhizal infected roots. Fertilizing of mycorrhizal biofertilizer can increase cob weight per cornhusk/m2 as 17.9% than without fertilizing it. Keywords : Sweet corn, mycorrhizal biofertilizer, rock phosphate

Abstract

The Pekanbaru city forest is one of the open green space alternatives in solvingenvironmental problems in urban areas, especially Pekanbaru. The existence of the forest city is stated in the Government Regulation No. 63 of 2002. The role of the civil society is needed in the policy implementation for the Pekanbaru city forest development. This research aimed to know the problems occurred through a society approach in the management of city forest and know the society role in the implementation of the policy of the Government Regulation No. 63 of 2002 of City Forest. This research was carried out in Jalan Thamrin the city forest of Pekanbaru Riau Province. The research used survey method with quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. Quantitative analysis used the percentage formula for the assessment of the role of society against the tendency of the management of city forest. Qualitative analysis explained the implementation of the society role in the city forest management in the Government Regulation No. 63 of 2002 about city Forest.  The research results indicated three problems in Pekanbaru city forest are the public ignorance about the Government Regulation No. 63 of Forest City policy, the lack of infrastructure support and the limited maintenance fund of the city forest. The problems hamper the implementation of the Government Regulation No. 63 of 2002 about city forest which indicated the absence of the role of society in the Pekanbaru city forest development . The positive impacts are characterized by employment and the negative impact that is characterized by social conflict firms with community. One of to overcome this is to create a synergistic collaboration between company and community. This study aims to determine the forms of cooperation that occurred between the villagers of Segati with the company management and HTI management collaboration strategy to align the company with the community. Data is collected in this study conducted by direct interview to the respondents that referred to in the questionnaires. Data were analyzed using percentage analysis and SWOT analysis later described. The results showed that co-operation is done in the conservation area management and community empowerment. Collaboration have been done less than the maximum due to low participation and communication community are very less. Strategy that can be done is to involve local community in all activities of the collaboration is not against a particular group. Keywords: Strategy, collaboration, HTI, SWOT.

Abstract

Interaction between people and forests have lasted long enough for forests provide benefits to society such as non-timber forest products (NTFPs). Behavior between communities and forests in the utilization of NTFPs is a form of interaction that occurs between people and forests. Village which is the object of this research is segati village in order to determine the shape and pattern of interaction communitieswithforestin the utilization of NTFPs and to determine the location of the distribution of the use of NTFPs in the village Segati. This study was conducted for 6 months starting in January 2013 to June 2013. Data collected in this study is by interview and observation. The sampling method was performed using purpossive sampling method with the criteria segati rural communities, which interact directly with the forest and the companies related with the utilization of the data is performed NTFPs segati villagers. The results of this study indicate a form of interaction that occurred in the community in the utilization of NTFPs that positive interactions and negative interactions with regular and seasonal patterns of interaction. For the location of the distribution of the utilization of NTFPs is done in two locations: in the concession area and outside of concession area.
