Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of giving bioslurry and get a dose of the best on the growth oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis jacq.) in main nursery. This research has been conducted in the experimental field of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from Agustus 2015 until the month of Januari 2016. The research was conducted by using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisted of         6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment is bioslurry, B1= 0 ml, B2=100 ml,     B3= 200 ml, B4= 300 ml, B5= 400 ml, dan B6= 500 ml. Parameters that observed were seedling height, the increase of hump diameter, the increase of leaf number an leaf area. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance, then continued with further test with Duncan's new multiple range test at 5%. The results of research of  bioslurry no significantly effect to seedlings height, the increase of leaf number, the increase of hump diameter,  an leaf area. Provision of bioslurry of 300 ml is the best treatment against the of seedling height is 30,43 cm, the increase of hump diameter 2,40 cm, the increase of leaf number 7,50 sheet an leaf area 277,08 cm2 an compared with no provision of bioslurry to seedling height 17,84%, the increase of hump diameter 27,91%, the increase of leaf number 21,73% an leaf area 16,29%. Keywords: bioslurry, oil palm seedlings, growth, main nursery.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of the interaction of solid bio-slurry and nitrogen fertilizer, the influence of single factor of solid bio-slurry and nitrogen fertilizer and get better dosage of bio-slurry and nitrogen fertilizer to growth and production of green bean plants (Vigna radiata  L). This research has been conducted experimental farming Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Bina Widya road, Simpang Baru Village, District Tampan, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 4 months from December 2016-March 2017. This research was conducted experimentally using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial composed of 2 factor. The first factor is the doses of bio-solid slurry consisting of 4 stages,that is B1: dose 2.5 ton.ha-1, B2: dose 5 ton.ha-1, B3: dose of 7.5 ton.ha-1and B4: dose of 10 ton.ha-1. The second treatment of nitrogen fertilizer (N) consists of 4 stages with the dose : N1: dose 25 kg.ha-1, N2: dose 50 kg.ha-1, N3: dose 75 kg.ha-1and N4: dose 100 kg.ha-1. Each was repeated 3 times so that there were 48 experimental units.Data obtained from the observations were statistically analyzed with the fingerprint and continued with the Duncan's multiple range test at 5%. Parameters observed were plant height, number of primary branch, age of flowering plant, harvest age, number of pods per plant, percentage of pods, production per m2 and weight of 100 seeds.The results showed that the administration of bio-solid slurry with nitrogen fertilizers to increase the growth of plant height, the number of pods per plant and yield per m2. The provision of bio-solid slurry at a dose of 7,5 ton.ha-1 may include flowering age, harvests and increased plant height, number of primary branches, number of pods per plant, pod percentage pithy, production per m2 and weight of 100 seeds. Applications of nitrogen fertilizer at a dose of 75 kg.ha-1 can accelerate flowering age, age and crop increased plant height, number of primary branches, number pods per plant, pods percentage pithy, production per m2 and a weight of 100 seeds. The provision of bio-slurry of solid dosage 7,5 ton.ha-1 and application of nitrogen fertilizer 75 kg.ha-1 provides the highest yield of the parameter plant height, number of primary branches, plant flower age, harvesting age, number of pods per plant, production per m2 and weight of 100 seeds.Keywords: green beans, organic manure, nitrogen fertilizer

Abstract

This study aimed to getthe best ratio of mesocarpnypafruit and red dragon fruitpeelto produce good quality of the fruit leather with attractive colors for food diversification. This study useda Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 4 replications thus obtaining 16 experimental units the treatments were, the ratio of mesocarpnypafruit and red dragon fruit peel with treatments,NH1 (65:35), NH2 (60:40), NH3 (55:45) and NH4 (50:50). The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).Jika F hitung lebih besar atau sama dengan F tabel maka dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT pada taraf 5%.If the  F count was greater than or equal to F table then continued with Duncan New Multiple Range Test at 5% level.The resultsof the present study indicate that ratio of mesocarpnypa fruitand red dragon fruit peelsignificantly affected to the moisture content (9.14-11.50%), ash (0.78-0.91%), initialdegree of acidity (5.20-5.28) and total sucrose (30.55-42.55%). Based on the resultsof sensory evaluation show that the dragon fruit peel significantly affected to the color, aroma, taste, texture, and overall the value of panelists for hedonic test were “rather like to like”for this fruit leather. The best treatment based on the water content, ash content, initialdegree of acidity, total sucrose andsensory evaluation was treatmentNH1 (65% mesocarpnypafruit and 35% red dragon peel). Keywords:Fruit leather, mesocarp nypa fruit and red dragon peel.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru Campus Binawidya Km 12.5 from January until July 2016. Trial using completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. The first factor soil water tension consists of 3 levels (pF 1,0-1,97, pF 2,29-2,54 and pF 2,70 - 3) and the second factor upland rice varieties consists of 3 varieties  (Santan, Kalpatali and Si Kuning). Treatment was repeated 3 times. Data results were analyzed statistically operates with anova and Duncan test continued level of 5%. The observed parameters is plant high, the maximum number of tillers, the number of productive tillers, dry weight of plants, harvesting, percentage of grain pithy, weight of dry milled grain and weight of 100 grains. Results indicate the interaction of soil water tension and local upland rice varieties significantly effect to plant hight, no except the maximum number of tillers, the number of productive tillers, dry weight of plants, harvesting, percentage of grain pithy, weight of dry milled grain and weight of 100 grains. Combination soil water tension pF 1 - 1,97 and santan variety is the best combination, because weight of dry milled grain yield tended more. Keywords: local varieties upland rice, soil water tension, Ultisol

Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merril) is one type of food that have a high  nutrition, so many are consumed by the people. The needs of soybean in Indonesia each year has increased, while production of soybean in Indonesia is not enought to cover the needs of soybean in Indonesia. The study aim to know the influence of cow manure and earthworms as well as getting the best dose against and crop yield of soybean. This study was carried out the greenhouse of Unit Pelayanan Teknis (UPT), Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau. This study used a random complete design 2 factor and 3 replicates. The first factor is 4 dose of cow manure and the second factor is 2 level of earthworms. Result showed the cow manure 80 g/plant and earthworm 5 tail/plants shows better results among other treatment combination in increasing the ratio of headers and roots, dry weight of the plant, number of primary  branches, number of pods perplant and the weight of the seed per plant. Cow manure 80 g/plant best in increasing the shoot and root ratio, diameter of stem, number of primary  branches, number of pods per plant and the weight of the seed per plant. The weight of 100 seeds showed better on cow manure 40 g/plant and on a combination of cow manure 40 g/plant and earthworm 5 tail/plant. Use of earthworms did not improve growth and yield of soybean. 1Keywords :     Soybean, cow manure, earthworm.

Abstract

This study aims to know the local wisdom in Kelayang Sub-district Indragiri Hulu Regency. Kelayang Sub-district is one of the rice producing areas in Indragiri Hulu Regency. In this research the data collection method used is survey method with the help of questionnaires to 30 respondents in Kecamatan Kelaynag, the method of analysis used is the SWOT method, this method is used to see the local wisdom in Kelayang sub - district. In the SWOT analysis the data collected is internal data, covering the strengths and weaknesses owned by a local wisdom and external data, covering the pelung and threats own by a local wisdom. so to see the relevance of the local wisdom, then is made SO strategy, WO strategy, WT strategy and WO strategy . The result of this study is, Existing local wisdom is, praying from the process of land clearing to harvesting, making offerings, Mutual cooperation, using traditional tools, and forbidden to say dirty. while local wisdom that is not exist is to determine a good day, prohibited Harvest on Friday and ask permission to ghost before taking the rice. Keyword : Local wisdom,kelayang,Rice,SWOT

Abstract

This study aims to determine theinteraction effect ofrice husk charcoal and rice straw trichocompost and get the best dosage combination for growth and yield of sweet corn in peatlands. This research was conducted on December 2015 until March 2016. This research used a factorial Randomized Block Design with          3 replications.The first factor was rice husk charcoal (0, 3, 6 kg/plot), and the second factor was rice straw trichocompost (0, 3, 6, 9 kg/plot). Data were analyzed using anova and Duncan's multiple range test at the 5 % level. The results showed that the addition of rice husk charcoal and rice straw trichocompost influenced the growth and production of sweet corn. Rice husk charcoal 3 ̶ 6 kg/plot(5 ̶ 10 ton/ha) and trichocompost of rice straw 9 kg/plot (15 ton/ha) were the best dosage to the growth and yield of sweet corn in peatlands. Keywords: Sweet Corn, Peat, Rice Husk Charcoal, Rice Straw Trichocompost

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the effect of different spacing of the components and the results of carbohydrate content and find out proper plant spacing for each sorghum cultivars. This research was conducted at the Agriculture experiment station and in the plant breeding laboratory, Riau University from April 2015 to Agustus 2015. Research conducted as an experiment using a randomized block design (RAK), which consists of two factors and three replications, The first factor was sorghum cultivar which consists of Patir 9, Patir 10, Pahat  and Mandau. The second factor was spacing of which is comprised of a spacing of 75 cm x 15 cm, 75 cm x 20 cm and 75 cm x 25 cm. Observational data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance. The parameters were observed amongtime to harvest, panicle length, seed weight per panicle, seed weight per m2, weight of 1000 seeds, harvest moisture content and carbohydrate content. The results showed that sorghum cultivars with a narrow  spacing (75 cm x 15 cm), middle (75 cm x 20 cm) and distantly (75 cm x 25 cm) not accelerate time to harvest, do not increase the yield component that seed weight per m2 and weight of 1000 seeds, as well as harvest moisture content and carbohydrate content. Mandau cultivars with spacing distantly (75 cm x 25 cm) have tended to be higher carbohydrate content that is 85.12% compared to the three other cultivars. Cultivars Patir 9 at narrow spacing (75 cm x 15 cm) have the results tend to be more that 4.1 tonnes/ha compared to the three other cultivars. Keywords: sorghum cultivars, plant spacing, yield components and carbohydrate content

Abstract

The research purpose to know the effect of molases for growth and yield white oyster mushroom with sawdust of mahang and rice bran media. This research already held in mushroom house at kempas XIII street, Pandau Permai, Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. This research conducted for 4 months from August until November 2017. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) one factor with four replicaton. The factor various contentration of molases,      M1 = 68 cc/l, M2 = 136 cc/l, M3 = 204 cc/l, M4 = 272 cc/l, M5 = 340 cc/l and M6=408 cc/l. The result of research showed the molases with different concentraion give significanly different for various parameter, like time mycelium fullgrow in baglog, first time pinhead grow, diameter of oyster, weight of the white oyster mushroom and interval of harvest, but not significantly different for first time mycelium grow and amount of oyster.Keywords : white oyster mushroom, molases, sawdust of mahang, rice bran
