Abstract

This study was conducted in january – february 2017 which located in Nagari Mungo Luak subsdistrict Lima Puluh Kota district West Sumatera province. This study aims to to analyze loan-use Gourami breeders (Osphronemus gouramy) based on kinship systems and sharing results system loan-use gourami breeders at seeding fish business the community Nagari Mungo. Methods used in this research is a method survey with the number of respondents from 15 people, where the determination of respondents were with purposive sampling. Loan-use system breeders fish were 2 categories lending breeders based on kinship an ancestor or because between one residence and lending based on kinship according to offspring or kinship ties. Loan-use category 1 the size of the ratio of the agreed by 50:50 it means share of the profits balanced that is 50 if the management and 50 for the owners , while system and loan use category 2 the size of the ratio of the in agreed of 60:40 it means management could get a share more namely 60 and the owner of is only 40 a share of the profits income .Keywords: loan-use system, sharing results, seeding, gourami

Abstract

This research was intended to determine the effect of using banana stem extract anesthesia againts the survival rate jelawat (Leptobarbus hoevenii) in the testing pf tranport for 4 hours and to determine the best concentrate of banana stem extract be used as anesthesia on jelawat. The using of research method was descriptive method, of wihch 3 varians were consentrate of banana stem 10%, 15% and 20%. The 15% of banana stem extract 15% that was the superior treatment based on transportation test dry system for 4 hours with the survival rate jelawat was 95% of the total sample. Where is the time required at a concentration of anesthetic 15% to fainting fish average over 35 minutes and requires an average over 40 minutes to be aware of jelawat.Key words: Anesthesia, Banana Stem Extract

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of the use of seaweed (Eucheuma cottonii) as a substitution material to tapioca flour on the quality of snakehead fish (Channa striata) nugget. The method used was experimental method and composed as non-factorial, Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The factor of the treatment was substitution of tapioca flour with seaweed in the processing of snakehead fish nugget, consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: 75 gs tapioca flour and 0g wet seaweed (N0), 0 g tapioca starch and 75 gs wet seaweed (N1), 50g tapioca flour and wet seaweed 25 gs (N2), 25gs tapioca starch and 50 gs wet seaweed (N3), in each 500 gs of snakehead fish formulation. The results indicated that the snakehead fish nugget substituted by tapioca flour and seaweed showing the significat effect on the value of organoleptic (appearance, odor, taste, texture, folding test), and proximate (water, protein, fiber content) . The quality of snakehead fish nugget using the tapioca starch and seaweed (N2) was showing the highest value of appearance 7.9, aroma 7.1, flavor 7.5, and texture 8.3; as well as the highest value of folding test 5.0 (AA). The content of moisture was 36.64%, protein 12.10%, and crude fiber 1.01%. So that, the best product of snakehead fish nugget proximat with subtitution of 50g tapioca flour and wet seaweed 25 gs (N2) was appropriate to the Indonesia National Standard (SNI 7758-2013).Keywords: Substitution, Seaweed, Nugget, Snakehead Fish

Abstract

ABSTRACT                This research was conducted in July 2017 at Pieh Island Conservation Area of Pieh Water Park of West Sumatera Province. This study aims to determine the condition of coral reefs in the waters of Pieh Island and to determine the changes in the condition of coral reefs in Pieh Island. The method used was survey method using Underwater Photograph Transect (UPT), consisting of 3 stations where each station was divided into 2 depth ie at depth of 5 meter and 10 meter.               The type of coral reefs on Pieh Island was in the group of fringing reef. The forms of coral growth found in the study area were Acropora branching (ACB), Acropora digitate (ACD), Acropora encrusting (ACE), Acropora submssive (ACS), Acropora tabulate (ACT), Coral encrusting (CE), Coral massive (CM ) Coral Foliose (CF) and Coral Submassive (CS). Condition of coral reefs at Pieh Island at 5 meter depth was heavily devastated with the percentage of 22.80%, while percentage of coral cover at 10 meter depth was 58.67% categorized coral cover good. Keywords: Pieh Island, Coral Reef, Underwater Photograph Transect

Abstract

Pangasius hypopthalmus is one fish commodity that were known as commodity prospected and demand by employers to cultivate. The aimed this research was to understand the histopathological changes of liver and gut of Pangasius hypopthalmus that were feed with curcumin extract (Curcuma domestica) and were infected Aeromonas hydrophila. This research has been conducted in the Laboratory of Microtechnic of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty and Laboratory of Parasites and Disease of the Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Riau University Pekanbaru in Juny to October 2016. This study used five treatments, Kn: Negative control (feeding without the addition of curcumin and uninfected bacteria A. hydrophila), Kp: A positive control (feeding without the addition of curcumin and infected by bacteria A. hydrophila), P1: feed with curcumin addition of 0.3 g / kg, P2: Feed with the addition of curcumin of 0.5 g / kg, P3: feed with curcumin addition of 0.7 g / kg. observation tissue with histology studies and observed under a microscope. The results of the study showed that this structure of Pangasius hypopthalmus liver visible damage such as necrosis, haemorrhage, fatted degeneration, and hypertrophy. While the structure of Pangasius hypopthalmus gut visible damage such as haemorrhage, cell infiltration and goblet cell proliferation. The best results was P3 the addition of curcumin extract added to the feed with concentration of 0.7 g / kg of feed.Key words: Pangasius hypopthalmus, Liver, Gut, histopathology, Curcumin

Abstract

Sok-sok Holbung is a small shallow river in the Dolok Imun plateau with a very good quality of water. A research aims to understand the species, diversity and domination indices of fish in that river had been done from September-October 2016. There were 3 stations, in the upstream, in the middle and in the downstream area of the river. The fish was sampled using scoop net and then they were identified based on Saanin (1968), Kottelat (1993) and Fowler (1940). Samplings were done 2-3 times in each station. Results shown that there were 3 ordos, 4 families, 5 genuses and 5 species fish present in the study area, they were Mystaccoleus padangensis, Tor soro, Homaloptera ripleyi, Channa striata, Clarias batrachus. The diversity index ranged from 0.443- 0.765, while the dominant index was 0.388-0.757. Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh lama pengasapan terhadap masa simpan dan perubahan kimia dan sensoris selama penyimpanan.Sampel ikan baung yang berukuran 250 gram perekor diperoleh dari hasil tangkapan di sungai Kampar, di desa Sungai Paku, Kampar.Ikan baung yang diasapi dengan lama pengasapan berbeda dengan suhu 50-70°C.perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah lama pengasapan yang berbeda yaitu: 4 jam (L4), 5 jam (L5), 6 jam (L6), 7 jam (L7). Selanjutnya ikan baung asap dikemas secara vakum dalam kantong plastic dan disimpan dalam refrigerator pada suhu dingin (5±1°C) untuk diamati pada hari pertama, 5 hari dan 10 hari. Parameter yang diukur meliputi mutu sensoris (kenampakan, bau, dan tekstur), analisis kimia (TBA), dan analisis mikrobiologi (TPC). Berdasarkan parameter yang diuji terhadap ikan baung asap dengan lama pengasapan yang berbeda maka diperoleh perlakuan terbaik dari setiap penyimpanan mulai hari ke-0 sampai hari ke-10 adalah perlakuan lama pengasapan 7 jam (L7) karena selalu mempunyai nilai tertinggi. Semakin lama waktu pengasapan, maka semakin tinggi nilai sensorisnya sedangkan nilai TBA dan TPC semakin rendah. Lama pengasapan yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai sensoris, TBA, dan TPC ikan baung asap. Hasil terbaik dari nilai sensoris diperoleh dari perlakuan lama pengasapan 7 jam. Hasil terbaik TBA diperoleh dari lama pengasapan 7 jam (4,20 mg malonaldyhide/kg) pada penyimpanan hari ke-0 (4,28 mg malonaldyhide/kg) pada penyimpanan hari ke-5 (4,27 mg malonaldyhide/kg) pada penyimpanan hari ke-10. Hasil terbaik TPC diperoleh dari perlakuan lama pengasapan 7 jam (1,0x103cfu/g) pada penyimpanan hari ke-0, (6,3x105cfu/g) pada penyimpanan hari ke-5, (2,2x106cfu/g) pada penyimpanan hari ke-10. Pada hari ke 5 ikan baung asap hasil dari semua perlakuan sudah busuk dan ditolak.Kunci : Hemibagrus nemurus, Ikan asap, lama pengasapan, penyimpanan

Abstract

This research was aimed to obtain the best amount of seaweed (Eucheuma cottonii) flour in processing of catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) nugget from organoleptic quality, folding test, and chemical analysis aspects. The experimental methode was used in this research, with treatment N0 (control), N1 (addition 50g of seaweed flour), N2 (addition 100g of seaweed flour), N3 (addition 150g of seaweed flour). Based on parameters tested, the best treatment was the catfish nuggets with addition 50g of seaweed flour. The characteristics of such a ligh brown, fish flavor more pronounced, aroma of fish, solid texture, compact, and chewy with 58,62% of moisture content, 13,92% of protein content, 7,65% of fat content, 2,15% of ash, 9,15% mg/100g calcium, and 3,6 of folding test.Keywords: Nugget, Eucheuma cottonii, Pangasius hypophthalmus, Seaweed flour, Quality

Abstract

Sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a are important water qualityparameter in the sea, especially the coastal areas. The research was conducted inJanuary - March 2017 in the waters of Belawan, North Sumatera Province with theaim to determine the relationship of sea surface temperature and chlorophyllconcentrations-a.The method used is survey with direct measurements in the watersof Belawan, North Sumatera and using MODIS Aqua satellite image data in March2016 - February 2017. Sea surface temperature MODIS Aqua satellite image datain March 2016 - February 2017 ranged from 29.45 to 31.7oC and chlorophyll-arange of 0.48 to 2.62 mg / l. Field data sea surface temperature ranges from 26-30°Cand chlorophyll-a range of 2.08 to 17.62 mg / l. Interpretation of the data from theMODIS Aqua satellite imagery and field data to explain that the sea surfacetemperature and chlorophyll concentrations-a very weak, r = 0.1791. Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Marine Aquaculture Unit of UPTD Sub-District of Moro Fishery and Marine Office of Karimun Regency, Province ofKepulauan Riau on February to March 2017. Extraction stage was conducted atMarine Chemical Laboratory Department of Marine Science Faculty of Fisheriesand Marine University of Riau. This Study aims to obtain the optimalconcentration of extract Keben (Barringtonia asiatica) for the process ofimotilization of Silver Pompanoo Fish. The test animal used is Silver Pompanoo(Trachinotus blochii) with size 150-200 gr. On the basis of preliminary results, theexperiment were carried out with 4 treatment concentrations of 13,79 mg/l, 19,00mg/l, 26,00 mg/l, 35,50 mg/l, and 0 mg/l as controls. Anova test showed thatconcentration had significant effect (P<0,05) on induction time, recoveredconscious and survival rate of Silver Pompanoo. The results showed thatconcentration 13,79 mg/l was the optimal concentration for Silver Pompanooimotilization process with induction time ranged from 15-17 minutes andconscious recovering time around 4-5 minutes and long fainting for 4,5 hours andresulted in rate of life equal to 86,6%.Kata Kunci : Barringtonia asiatica, Trachinotus blochii, imotilization.BAB I.
