Abstract

The downstream of the Umban Sari River was inhabited by numerous fish species. Informationon the fish, however, is almost none. To understand the biodiversity of fish in that river, a studyhas been conducted from March to May 2016. Samplings were conducted weekly. The fish wassampled using several net types (mesh size 0.1-1.0 inch) and scoop nets. The fish sampled wereidentified based on Kottelat et al. (1993), Kottelat (2013) and Saanin (1968). Results shown thatthere were 420 fish sampled, they were belonged to 6 ordos, 10 families, 15 genus, and 17species. They were Osteochilus vittatus, Rasbora argyrotaenia, R. trilineata, Puntiusanchisporus, Parachela oxygastroides, Labiobarbus leptocheilus, Acantopsis dialuzona,Pterygoplichthys pardalis, Pangasius sp., Hemirhamphodon sp., Monopterus javanensis, Bettaimbellis, Trichopsis vittata, Trichogaster trichopterus, T. pectoralis, Pristolepis grooti andNotopterus notopterus. The fishes that present in each station were T. vittata, O. vittatus,Hemirhamphodon sp., and R. argyrotaenia (Fi 100%).Keyword: fish biodiversity, Umban Sari River, Pekanbaru, downstream

ABSTRACT The research was conducted in June-July 2017 in Koto Tinggivillage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of different types of languages and music illustrations to the level of knowledge of Aquaculturer in audio extension media in Koto Tinggivillage Koto Besar District Dhamasraya Regency West Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The extension was done once and was attended by 20 audients. The pre test and post test marks were then compared.     The results showed that: a) Fisheries extension in Dhamasraya District amounted to 3 people, so far the extension activities always use conventional methods such as: lecture method and media leaflet, while audio media has never been used; b) based on the results of statistical tests and observations, the differences in the type of language and music illustrations contained in audio counseling media conducted in Nagari Koto Tinggi can affect the knowledge level of fish farmers in Nagari Koto Tinggi; c) the percentage difference between pre test and post test results in audio with Minang language and music of Minang 33,3%, bigger than pre test result and post test in audio with Indonesian language and Pop music (Indonesia) which is 25%. The conclusion of this research is the difference of language and type of music in media of audio extension can influence the knowledge level of fish farmer. Audio extension media using Minang language and Minang music illustration is more effective in increasing knowledge of fish farmers in Nagari Koto TinggiKeywords: Extension Methods, Fisheries Extension, Audio-visual Media.

Abstract

This research was conducted from January to March 2017 located atPeat Moss Village of Kualu Nenas, District of Tambang, Kampar, Riau. The aimof this study was to know the best type of vermicompost to change the chemicalparameters of peat soil as pond bottom soil such as pH, soil organic matter content(KBOT), total N, total P, total K, C/N ratio and water chemical parameters such aspH, Dissolved oxygen (DO), Free carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrate, Orthophosphateand Ammonia. The method used in this study was an experimental method byusing Completely Randomized Design (RAL) of one factor with four treatmentsand three replications. The treatments in this study were without vermicompost(P0), human vermicompost (P1), cow vermicompost (P2), chicken vermicompost(P3).The results showed that best treatment during the study was P1 (humanvermicompost) with pH 6.47, KBOT 59.69%, total N 2.79%, total P 2.33%, totalK 1.53% and C/N ratio 16.59. Furthermore, for the range of water chemistryparameters during the study was still good with pH ranges from 5.6 to 6.8, DOranged from 2.3 to 3.3 mg/L, CO2 ranged from 9.96-18.99 mg/L, nitrate 10,43mg/L, orthophosphate 6,76 mg/L, ammonia 0.08 mg/L.Keyword: Vermicompost, chemical parameters, peat soil

Abstract

ABSTRACT          The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of carrot flour (Daucus carrota L) is best in increasing the brightness of body color Molly Fish (Phoecilia sphenops). This research was conducted from April to June 2017 in the Cultivation Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau. The method used in this study is the method of exploitation using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with one factor, four treatment levels, and three replications. The treatment in this study was P0 (Control, molly fish fed commercial pellets with 39% protein content.), P1 (Addition of 3% carrot flour, ie 30 grams of carrot flour and 970 grams of pellet flour with 39% protein content), P2 (Addition of 4% carrot flour which is 40 gram of carrot flour and 960 gram of pellet flour with 39% protein content.), P3 (Addition of 5% carrot flour which is 50 gram of carrot flour and 950 gram of pellet flour with 39% protein content). The results showed that the best treatment was on P3 (Addition of 5% carrot flour ie 50 gram of carrot flour and 950 gram of pellet flour with 39% protein content). The absolute weight growth is 1.37 grams, the absolute longevity is 0.52 cm, and the survival rate is 90%. Key words: Food Addation, Ornamental Fish, Growth.

This research was aimed to evaluate the effect of addition snakehead fish (Channa striata) protein concentrate on the quality of semprong cake. The method used was experimental and composed as completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment was the addition of snakehead fish protein concentrate, which was varied at 4 levels, (K0) original addition of snakedhead fish protein concentrate, addition of snakehead fish protein concentrate 5% (K1), addition of snakehead fish protein concentrate 10% (K2), addition of snakehead fish protein concentrate 15% (K3), snakehead fish protein concentrate addition percentage calculated by weight of rice flour formulation. The parameters used organoleptic evaluation, and proximate composition. The best treatment seen from organoleptic test K3 the addition with snakehead fish protein concentrate is 15%, with organoleptic value (K3 shape 3.56, K3 texture 3.48, K3 flavor 3.68, K3 taste 3.66), and proximate is water content K3 4.5%, protein content K3 21.62%, fat content K35.32%.Keywords: Channa striata, Fish Protein, Concentrate Semprong Cake, Quality Assessment
