Abstract

This research was conducted on 4 to 10 June 2013 in the Cape Betung Jorong Rambahan Nagari South Rao Pasaman District of West Sumatra Province. This study armed to: Describe the characteristics of fish seed growers, measure bussines motivation level of fish seed and Analyze relationship between several characteristics of seed growers with business motivation of fish seed growers. The method used in this study was a survey method, a total of 12 respondents.Farmers characteristics include: age, education, income, number of dependents and bussiness experience. The level of overall motivation of fish was in medium category with a score of 1.246 means bussiness the motivation to do the business of fish farmers was still dependent on the circumstances and existing capabilities. To analyze the relationship between the characteristics and farmers motivation used the Spearman rank correlation coefficient. Results of this study declare relationship with the motivation that is related to age and not being significant, the relationship between motivation and dependents have weak and not significant relationship, the relationship between motivation and education have a very weak (nonsignificant), the experience of trying to have a weak link and not and income have a significant relationship was not significant and the motivation.Keyword: Motivation, cultivators fish in the pond, Cyprinus carpio

Abstract

This Research aims to discover the types and density of aquatic plant in RengasLake, Buluh Cina Village, Siak Hulu Sub-regency, Kampar Regency, Province of Riau. This research was conducted on January until April 2013. This research uses SurveyMethod with doing both observing and sampling. Samples were taken 3 times, once aweek and they were analyzed in the Picology Laboratory of the Fisheries and MarineScience Faculty, University of Riau.Result shown that there are 3 classes, 6 families and 6 species of aquatic plants. There are Eicchornia crassipes, Vetiveria zizaniodes, Salvinia natans, Ipomoeaaquatica, Myriophyllum brasilliense, and Cyperus esculentus. From those aquaticplants, the species that has the most value of density is Eucchornia crassipes (54 - 82cells/m2) and the least value of density is Myriophyllum brasilliense (20-66cells/m2)Based on data obatained, Eucchornia crassipes is relatively the most denseaquatic plant (16 - 28%) and Myriophyluum brasillense is the least (7-19%).Keyword: Aquatic Plant, Density, Rengas Lake

Abstract

This research has been done on the Baru Lake Buluh Cina Village Siak Hulu SubdistrictDistrict Kampar from March - April 2013. This research aims to understand the vertical profile ofphosphate in this lake. The researh used survey method. Sample were taken horizontally in threestation and vertically in three sampling point. The water quality parameters measured were pH,dissolved oxygen (DO), based on transparancy, temperature and depth. The concentration of phosphate was 0,016 - 0,113 mg/l. The value of pH was 6. Theconcentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) was 2,6 – 5,47 mg/l. Based on transparancy was 47,0 -55,8 cm. Temperature was 29 – 30,3ºC. Depth was 346 – 409 cm. Phosphate consentration insurface was 0,016 – 0,037 mg/l, while in bottom was 0,063 – 0,113 mg/l. The vertical profile ofphosphate in bottom was higher than in the surface. The parameters of water quality were observedstill sustain the aquatic organism life. Keywords: phosphate, vertical profile, Baru Lake

Abstract

This research was conducted on the Danau Pinang Luar Buluh Cina Village Siak HuluSubdistrict District Kampar Riau Province in April - Mei 2013 and aims to understand thephytoplankton vertical rofil in the Pinang Luar Lake. There were 3 stations, station 1 isincomingwater area, Station 2 is agencies lake area. Station 3 is end of the lake area. Samplings wereconducted 3 times, once/week.This research aims to determine the vertical profile ofphytoplankton of Danau Pinang Luar. The results showed 24 species of phytoplankton were classified into four classes, namely:Chlorophyceae (11 species), Cyanophyceae (7 species),Bacillariophyceae (5 species), Euglenophyceae (1 species). Average phytoplankton abundancearound 61578 - 495112 cells/l, species diversity index (H ') of phytoplankton around 4,21 - 4,51,uniformity index around 0,87 - 0,93 and dominance index (C) of about 0,046- 0,063. While thewater quality parameters such as temperature of 31°C, the brightness around 65 - 70 cm, a depth ofapproximately 261,7 - 461.7 cm, pH 6, Dissolved Oxygen approximately 2,93 – 6,4 mg/l, free ofcarbon dioxide around 3,96 – 11,88 mg/l, Nitrate around 0,01-0,02 mg/l, Phosphate approximately0,023 mg/l. Based on the abundance of phytoplankton, concluded that Danau Pinang Luar Outerrelatively moderate fertility levels.Keyword : Phytoplankton, Buluh Cina Village, Danau Pinang Luar

Abstract

For purpose to compare line fishing catches, which its were set close at FAD’s device and without FAD’s. Series fishing ctivities were carried out at fishing ground with FAD’s and without FAD’s during July 3rd -13th, 2013 in Teluk Rhu village, North Rupat district, Bengkalis regency, Indonesia. The result show that the composition and number of line fishing catches was signficatly different from T test to the weight of fish Thit = 5.37> Ttab = 1.833, this means Thit> Ttab, Ho is rejected and Hais accepted.with FAD’s and without FAD’s. The line fishing catches by FAD’s  was caugth 1.3 kg (3 individuals) snapper, 0.9 (3 individuals) groupers and 0.4 kg (1individual) puffer fish. While, the line fishing catches without FAD’s was 8 kg (5 individuals)  groupers, 3.1 kg (4 individuals) snappers, 4.6 kg (3 individuals) stingrays, 2.6 kg (3 individuals) croakers and 6 kg (3 individuals) spines.   Keywords: Fish agregating device(FAD’s), line fishing, Teluk Rhu village,

Abstract

This study was conducted on 24 April to 7 May 2013, which took place in the village of Lohong. The purpose of this study was to assess the stability of the boat with and without the use of cadik over the stability curve Hidromax software. The method used in this study is asurvey method. Boat primary measure obtained is 8 m LOA, LPP 6 m, 7 m LWL, loaded 0.6 m,0.8 m high and 1 m wide boat. results of the analysis indicate that the boat using cadik rate stability is better than that not using cadik boats, where the maximum heigh tis 0,429 GZ cadik boats rad m-high and boats without cadik GZ is 0.262 m-rad, the difference is caused by the addition of cadik because the cadik on the boat could improve the stability of the boat and if the boat motion, cadik also reserve buoyancy for the boatKeywords: stability of the boat, cadik, software Hidromax
