Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in April 2018 in Pulau Jambu Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the construction of gill net fishing equipment in general, to know the technique of gill net operation, to find out the results of gill net catches, to know the level of gillnet net fishing environment friendliness. The method used in this research is survey method. Data analysis using descriptive analysis. There are two ways to operate the gill net (gillnet), namely the decrease in the net (setting) and the lifting of the net (hauling). From the assessment of the level of friendliness of the gill net fishing gear (gillnet), a score of 29.7 was obtained, so the gill net fishing gear was classified as a very environmentally friendly fishing gear.                                                                                                        Keywords:fishing technology, operation, environmental friendliness

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research has been done in March 2018, located in Kampung Nelayan Seberang across Belawan I, North Sumatra Province. The study aims to: 1) Describe the structure of social stratification that occurs in communities in the Kampung Nelayan Seberang, and 2) Describe the structure of social differentiation found in the Kampung Nelayan Seberang. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with the determination of informants by purposive sampling.  Based on the results of the research obtained, the social stratification that occurred in the Kampung Nelayan Seberang caused a difference in strata among the community, caused by factors charismatic, honor, education, and wealth. So as to cause class differences between the people, namely the upper class of society is occupied by people who have high income, respectable families, charismatic leaders. The middle class is a group of people who become fishermen owners, ambassadors, fuel suppliers, paramedics and private sector employees prioritizing economic aspects of power, and the influence of society in this group is limited to providing assistance in economic fulfillment. The people who belong to the lower class are those who have income > IDR. 1.000.000, namely fishermen, owners and labor fishermen. The differentiation that occurs in the neighboring Fisherman Village community has already existed and did not cause levels when viewed horizontally. Differences in professions, gender, migrants / non-migrants, tribes have been seen indirectly. This difference does not become a barrier to interaction between communities. Keywords: Stratification, Differentiation, Coastal Communities

Abstract

ABSTRACT                This research was aimed to determine the proximate chemical content of eel (Monopterus albus) meat, obtain the eel protein hydrolysate from different concentration of papain enzymes, and determine the total amino acid of eel protein hydrolysate. The method used was an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments used was various concentrations of papain enzymes P1(3%), P2 (5%), P3(7%). Parameters observed were proximate analysis (moisture, ash, protein, fat, and carbohydrate content) of eel protein hydrolysate, total amino acid analysis and yield. The results showed that the proximate content of eel meat was 81.28% moisture content, 1.76% ash content, 14.54% protein content, 1.28% fat content, and 1.14% carbohydrate (by difference). Total amino acids analysis of P1, P2, and P3 treatments were 14.03%, 14.86%, and 15.66%, respectively. The different concentration of papain enzymes had a very significant effect on yield, whereas the yields of P1, P2, and P3 treatments were 33.05%, 35.25%, and 37.15%, respectively. Keywords: Fish protein hydrolysate, eel, papain enzyme

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was aimed to get the best concentration of sulfuric acid to extraction of tuna fish skin into gelatin. The raw material of skin tuna was obtained from PT. Dempo Andalas Samudera Bungus Padang City of West Sumatra Province. The method used was an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non factorial consisting of 3 treatment levels, namely the addition of different concentration of sulfuric acid G1 (2% sulfuric acid),  G2 (4% of sulfuric acid) and G3 (6% of sulfuric acid). The data was analyzed with ANAVA. The parameters measured in this study were yield, acidity (pH), moisture content, ash content, viscosity and gel strength. The results showed that the tuna fish skin extraction process with 6% sulfuric acid concentration (G3) was the best treatment with a yield value 5.62%, acidity (pH) 3.97, moisture content 5.68%, ash content 4.57 %, viscosity 4.92 cP and gel strength 324.22 g bloom. Keywords: extraction, gelatin, Sulfuric acid,Tuna fish skin

ABSTRACT This research was conducted from April until May 2018. The purpose of this study was to calculate the density of Vibrio sp. bacteria insea water of Dumai,to determine the ratio of Vibrio sp.toheterotrophicbacteria to examine the resistence of Vibrio sp. to antibiotics. In this study the determination of sampling points using purposive sampling method, was set into three sampling points for each station. Density total of Vibrio sp. and heterotrofik bacteria by using spread plate count method. The result showed that density Vibrio sp.ranged from 1.3 x 103 - 1.6 x 103 CFU / ml. the haignest number of Vibrio sp. wasfound in stations 4, and the lowest was in station 5.  The total number of heterotrophic bacteria ranged from 7.37 x 106 - 10.38 x 106 CFU / ml. the highest number of heterotrophic was found in station 4 in the lowest was in station 5. The hignest percentange ratio of the density of Vibrio sp.to heterotrophic bacteria was in station 5 0.0178% and the lowest was in station 1 0.0144%. resistance ofVibrio sp. toward Chloramphenicol as antibiotic tested indicatedthat 31 isolates were categorized into intermediate with the inhibition zone ranged from 12-19.8 mm, and 1 isolate was sensitive with the inhibition zone was 21 mm. Toward antibiotics penicilin and isoniazid, all bacterial isolates were resistant with the inhibition zone ranged from 1.6 - 9 mm and 0.9 - 6.2 mm, respectively. Keyword: Density, Vibrio sp,Heterotrophic Bacteria, Antibiotics

Abstract

Abstract N. lineata lives in tropical intertidal areas such as rocky shores, mud and also in mangrove trees while L. melanostoma lives in high ranges of areas in mangrove such as stems and leaves. This research was carried out on May 2018 in Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai City, Riau Province. This study aims to determine the morphometrics of N. lineata and L. melanostoma, the density of mangroves, and the relationships of density of mangroves with N. lineata and L. melanostoma populations in industrial and non-industrial areas. The sampling was done by using line transect method, carried out at 2 stations, station I in the industrial area and station II in the non-industrial area. The results showed that the highest length, width and weight of N. lineata and L. melanostoma were found in non-industrial areas. Simple linear regression analisis between length and wide of N. lineata and L. melanostoma are negative allometrics. The density of mangrove at industrial areas (1255.54 ind/ha) was higher than in non-industrial areas (1033.33 ind/ha). A weak relationship between mangrove density with N. Lineata density in the industrial area was observed (r=0.12), while in the non-industrial area has a moderate relationship (r=0.48). Meanwhile the density of mangroves with L. melanostoma density in industrial areas showed a very weak relationship (r=0.12) and conversely in non-industrial areas showed a strong relationship (r= 0.55).  Keywords: Morphometric, Nerita Lineata, Littoraria melanostoma, Mangrove
