Abstract

ABSTRACTPeriphyton is a sessile microscopic organism that attach on submerged substrates. A research aims to determine the type and abundance of periphyton attached in theusedtyre pieces placed in the Air Hitam River substrate has been carried out in April-May 2018. There were three sampling stations, namely S1 (in the upstream), S2 (in the middle) and S3 (in the downstream). Samplings were conducted once/week for a 3 weeks period. The periphyton samples are brushed from the used tyre substrates (8 x 6) cm2. The number of tyre pieces in the S1, S2 and S3 were 12, 9, and 6 pieces respectively. Water quality parameter measured were water current, temperature, transparency, pH, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, nitrate, and phosphate. Results shown that there were 29 types of periphyton present and they were belonged to 4 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (15 species), Cyanophyceae (3 species), Chlorophyceae (8species), and Euglenaphyceae (3 species). The abundance of periphyton in the tyre substrate in the S1 was 15.119 cells/cm2, in the S2 was 37.245 cells/cm2and in the S3 was 70.029 cells/cm2. The water quality parameters were as follows: water current 0.08-0.46 m/s, transparency:18-29 cm, temperature 29-29.3oC, dissolved oxygen 3.43-3.56 mg/L, free carbon dioxide 6.2-7.9 mg/L, nitrate 0.302-0.529 mg/L, phosphate 0.348-0.542 mg/L. Abstract

AbstractPalm oil liquid waste is rich in TSS and ammonia and thus need to be processed before being flown to environment. A study aims to reduce the TSS and ammonia in that waste by using a biofilter that was added with EM4 has been conducted in March-April 2019. There were 3 treatments applied, namely the addition of  12 ml, 15 ml and 18 ml EM4 in the anaerob and aerob tanks, 3 replications. The waste was settled for 3 days in the anaerob and 3 days in the aerob tanks. The treated waste was then tested for TSS and ammonia concentrations. The treated waste was also used for rearing Pangasius sutchi seedlings. Result shown that after being treated using the EM4 enriched biofilter the TSS reduced into60-71.66 mg/L and ammonia was 2.5047-5.3624 mg/L. The survival Pangasius sutchi seedlings reared in the treated waste was 66.66-93.33%. The best treatment to reduce the TSS was the addition of 15 ml EM4 and the effectiveness was 60 mg/L while that of the ammonia was 2.5047 mg/L. It can be concluded thatthe addition of EM4 to the biofilter tanks was able to reduce the TSS and ammonia in the palm oil industrial liquid waste. Keywords: Waste water, Effective Microorganism-4, Pangasius sutchi, Biofilter System.

Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted to measure the level of productivity in ship repair activities and determine the factors that influence the increase in productivity in ship repair activities. This research was carried out in April until May 2018 at the shipyard of the Palabuhanratu Fishing Port, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province. The method used is a survey method by knowing directly the productivity of reparations in shipyards. Reparation is an overall activity about repairing a ship, starting from the collision on the part of the ship that is leaking, painting, replacing weathered wood, cleaning the hull skin and repairing the damaged engine. Productivity is a comparison between spending and input. The factors that most influence the shipyard productivity from the measured performance indicators are the number of employee absenteeism or labor where the importance of the weight is 30%, the ship repair workforce and effective working hours which have a weighting of 20% each. Based on the results of the measurement of performance indicators for 5 years with the Objective Matrix method, the productivity index of performance indicators from 2013 to 2017 has experienced a considerable decline due to the decreasing number of vessels carrying out ship repairs. Keywords: Ship Repair, Productivity, Measurement of Performance Indicators

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research on Marketing Communication at Fish Culinary Business in Pondok Patin H.M. YunusRestaurant Pekanbaru was held in Octouber 2019 at Pondok Patin H.M. YunusRestaurant Pekanbaru. This study aims to determine the marketing mix of PondokPatin restaurant, to find out the communication techniques conducted by PondokPatin H.M. Yunus all this time. To find out what obstacles are faced by PondokPatin H.M Yunus Restaurant. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the PondokPatinRestaurant manager carried out interpersonal marketing communications such as promoting PondokPatin by giving business cards to relations, visiting agencies directly, promoting through print media such as newspapers, internet such as Instagram social media, e-magazine, electronics such as TV, radio and outdoor media such as billboards, billboard signs. PondokPatin restaurant managers target their products to everyone but many visitors who are married and work. The purpose of marketing communication must reach the target consumers, provide information so that the public knows about the PondokPatin restaurant, where the address, price and menu are presented. Then consumers are interested in enjoying PondokPatin cuisine. The message conveyed was "No to Pekanbaru if do not to arrive PondokPatin". Managers choose internet communication, because nowadays people use the internet as a place to get information. Constraints in marketing communication are not joining grabfood and gofood because prices are rising by 20%, do not use websites because prices make websites expensive, and the environment is disturbing like guest voices, and cellphone sounds from client pockets stop the conversation for a moment. Keywords: Communication, Marketing, Pondok Patin H.M.
