Abstract

This study was conducted to find out the role of CV. Graha Pratama Fish in the development of the Aquaculture of catfish (Pangasius sutchi) in the Village of Koto Mesjid. The method used in this study was a survey method to thirteen respondents. Data was analysis descriptive. The results showed that CV. Graha Pratama Fish doing the role in opening up employment, assist in the acceleration of regional development, infrastructure improvement of Koto Mesjid Village. In the field of fisheries a role in providing seed catfish (Pangasius sutchi), fish feed suppliers, disseminators of information, motivator, skills coaches, and as a mediator for visitors in the Village of Koto Mesjid.Keywords: Role, Developmend, CV. Abstract

This research had been conducted in November 2014 in purpose todetermine the effect of varied concentration and soaking time in liquid smokesolution pyrolyzed from peanut shell (Arachis hypogea) on the quality of smokedcatfish (Mystus nemurus). The method used in this study was experimental anddesigned as Completely Randomized Design (CRD) composed factorially 2x2. Thecatfish was soaked in a solution of liquid smoke with different concentrations 8%(K8) and 12% (K12) for 60 minutes (L60) and 90 minutes (L90), an then dried usingan oven at a temperature of 55ºC for 12 hours. The quality parameters weretheorganoleptic, chemical, total phenols, total acids, and pH values. The resultsshowed that the differences of concentrations and soaking time in a solution ofliquid smoke affected significantly on the quality of smoked catfish as shown onthe score of the texture and odor, moisture, but not significantl affected on thescore of appearance and taste, total phenols, total acids and pH values. Thetreatment K12L90 showed the best quality of smoked catfish with the score of odor7.64 and taste 7.32, moisture content 8.24%, total phenols 0.11ppm, and totalacids 9.16%, meanwhile the second best quality of the smoked catfish was shownby the treatment K8L60 with the score of appearance 7.23, and pH value 6.21.Thesensory characteristics of smoked catfish was showing that the meat surface wasclean, neat , and had attractive colors (golden yellow), had the specific odor ofsmoked fish, had delicious taste and distinctive flavor of smoked fish, less salty,and had a compact and soft texture of the meat.Keywords: liquid smoke, Mystus nemurus, peanut shell, soaking time, solutionconcentration

Abstract

This research was conducted in December 2014. The purpose of this study was to determine effect of varied kinds of smoke source material on the quality of smoked catfish (pangasius hypophthalmus). There are three kinds of smoke source materials used for smoking catfish, namely: coconut shell and coconut husk, the mixture coconut shell and husk. The parameters used to measure the quality of the smoked catfish are sensory value, the content of total acid and total phenols, water content and pH value. The results showed that the use of different kinds of smoke source materials significantly affected to the appearance and taste value, total phenols, and the pH value, but did not significantly affect to the value of the texture and smell, moisture content and the content of total acids. The use of smoke source mixture of husk and coco shell is the best treatment, showed by the highest sensory value, those are consistence 7.6, texture 7.8, odor, 7.6 smell and taste 7.7. It means that the smoked fish is shiny and intact, has dense and compact texture, distinctive odor of smoked fish and have a good characteristic flavor of smoked fish. Catfish smoke contained total phenols 15.78 ppm, total acid 21.15 %, water content of 30%, and pH value 7.22.Keywords: Fish smoking, smoke source, catfish, coco husk and shell.

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of different used liquid smokeduring saving kepah's smoke clam on the room's temperature. This research usedto experiment method that analized quality during saving on 0, 3, and 6 days. Themethod used to RAK non factorial method, with 2 varian of contration of liquidsmoke 1% k1 and 2% K2 and period of saving 0, 3, 6 days. K2 with contraction2% of organoleptic value is appreance of the kepah's smoke clam which iscomplete, clean, brown, the specific light with average of value 7,2, odorless,enough smoke without the smell disturbing with 7,21 values, deligious flavor with6,31 values, solid texture, dry enough between two messes with 8,03 values.thecomposition of chemestry of water kadar 21,44%, protein 13,14%, fatty 3.42%,proxide 1,23 meq/1000g sample and to analize of micobiologi is total of colonialbacteria (TPC) (4,2 x104) bacteria. Abstract

The research was conducted from September-November 2014 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science University of Riau. The objective of the research was to examine the optimal doses of vitamin E added to feed diet on the gonad maturation of the climbing perch (Anabas testudineus Bloch) such as Gonad Maturation Level, Gonad Somatic Index (GSI), fecundity and egg diameter. A completetely randomized design with three replicationwas used and four treatments.The treatmen in this research were P0 (pellet+Vit E 0 mg), P1 (pellet+Vit E 150 mg), P2 (pellet+Vit E 300 mg) and P3 (pellet + Vit E 450 mg).The results of research indicate that dosage vitamin E 300 mg was the best dosage for gonad maturation, reared for 56 days and the total fish reached Gonad Maturations Level IV 14 individuals (77,78%), Index Gonad Somatic (IGS) 9,232%, fecundity of 4.010 and egg diameter 0,698mm. Abstract

The purposes of this research to find out the cost of investment, to know the feasibility business and the problems and prospects in milkfish fishpond with in size of 1,5 Ha, 2,0 Ha and 4,0 Ha in Sungai Undan Village Reteh Subdistrict Indragiri Hilir District of Riau Province. Based on the results of the reseach, the average cost of investment to fishpond size 1,5 is Rp 42.082.400,00- with benefit Rp 8.836.250,00-/period(5-6 month), fishpond size 2,0 Ha is Rp 51.932.500,00- with benefit Rp 14.068.750,00-/period(5-6 month) and fishpond size 4,0 Ha is Rp 103.467.500,00- with benefit Rp 16.760.000,00-/period(5-6 month). Based on faseability criteria, it can be said that milkfish fishpond is worth to be developed but there are some problems faced by farmers such as the availability of ready stock nener or gelondongan (2-4 cm), the long distance for purchasing nener in Bali, public facilities that are inadequate, there are no field facilitator, and the habit of farmer to flipping commodity fishpond. Fishpond of milkfish has good prospect to be developed by the support of some aspect in this area.Keywords: Milkfish, Production, Business Analytics

Abstract

A research on the production, decomposition rate and identification of bacteria on Avicennia alba litter in the coastal zone Kuala Indragiri, Riau Province. This research was aimed to observe the contribution of mangrove forests in the productivity for surrounding environment and conducted from December 2014-March 2015. The litter production was calculated by using litter-trap. Sample was collected once in every 15 days during 45 days of observation. The litterfall was oven-dried and weighed. The result showed that avarage production of litterfall of A. alba in all station was 297.696 g/m2/45days (fresh weight) and 189.763 g/m2/45days (dry weight). The average total shrinking dry weight of litterfall leaf /day was at 0.13225 g/day or 1.3225 %/day. The average reduction dry weight of A. alba litterfall in every station was 7.848 g during 45 days of observation with a percentage value of the decomposed litterfall weight of 78.480% or 0,523 g/day, with final result of litterfall dry weight is 2,152 g. Seven types of bacterial colonies were identified on each station and consisted of Bacillus sp (2), Micrococcus sp, Xanthomonas sp, Pseudomonas sp, Vibrio sp and Escherichia sp.Keywords: Avicennia alba, litter, production, decomposition rate, bacteria, Kuala Indragiri

Abstract

A research was conducted from 3 Desember 2014 to 1 January 2015 at the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. This the growth and survival rate of Climbing Perch larvae (Anabas testudineus), fed on the natural food combinated such as Artemia naupli, water flea and Tubifex sp. The container used was 18 unit, 30x30x30 cm aquarium. The research method was experimental design with a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications. The treatment were A1T3 (one week given the Artemia sp and three week of the Tubifex sp). A2T2 (two week given Artemia sp and two week of the Tubifex sp). A3T1 (three week given Artemia sp and one week of the Tubifex sp). WF1T3 (one week given water flea and the three week of the Tubifex sp). WF2T2 (two week given water flea and two week of the Tubifex sp). WF3T1 (three week given water flea and one week of the Tubifex sp).The results showed that the A1T3 with the absolute weight growth (1,4850g), weight daily growth (22,55%) and the absolute length growth (40,33mm). The best survival rate in the WF2T2 (63,33%). The average % water temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen 270C, 6 and 4.8 ppm respectively.Keyword : Larvae betok (Anabas testudineus), growth, survival rate

Abstract

The research aims to understand the addition effects of snakehead fish(Channa striatus) protein concentrate toward kwetiau quality, that is known theaddition of fish protein concentrate efficient in make of kwetiau. Design used inthis study was completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, with fourthlevels of treatment that was without the addition of snakehead fish proteinconcentrate (K0), the addition of snakehead fish protein concentrate 5% (K5),the addition of snakehead fish protein concentrate 10% (K10), and the addition ofsnakehead fish protein concentrate 15% (K15). The experiments were performedthree times repetitions, and produced 12 units. The organoleptic test result basedon tested parameter that K0 was the best treatment with characteristics such white,attractive, chewy texture, sticky and soft, wet kwetiau aroma ( aroma like flour )but with additon of 5% snakehead fish protein concentrate could increase proteincontent, but kwetiau taste did not change, decrease the amount of water contentand microbial. Abstract

The research was conducted from Oktober to November 2014 at Fish Breeding and Hatchery Laboratory Fisheris and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. It was aim to know the influence of sGnRH+Domperidon injection by different dosage to egg quality and hatching of betok. It the research experiment method was applied with four treatmens and tree replications. The treatment injection by fisiologis solution 0,9 %, injection by sGnRH+Domperidon 0,5 ml/kg. 0,7 ml/kg and 0,9 ml/kg weigh of fish. The result showed that treatment with different dosage of sGnRH+Domperidon provide a significant influence on total of latency time of spawning, eggs ovulation/g weight of fish, eggs diameter, fertilization, egg hatchability and survival rate of larval. The best result was got from 0,5 ml/kg dosage with latency time 6,49 hour, total eggs ovulated 212/g weight of fish, accretion diameter of egg 0,184 mm, egg fertilized 75,11 %, egg hatchability 78,09 % and survival rate of living larvae was 82,36 %.Water quality during experiment was always in good condition for living.Keyword : Anabas testudineus, sGnRH+Domperidon, Hatching
