Abstract

This research held on january 2015 at Technology of Result FisherLaboratory, Chemical of Result Fishery, Fisheries and marine science faculty,Riau university. This research aims to understand consumer acceptance towardCarp fish (Cyprinus carpio) naniura with different Jungga Lime. The researchmethod used experiment method, that was do carp fish naniura produceexperiment series with different jungga lime. The design was completelyrandomized design non factorial that was addition of different jungga lime consistfrom 3 degree that were jungga lime 110 ml (A1), 130 ml (A2), 150 ml (A3) in 3hours fermentation with 9 fish. The result of this research showed the most likeorganoleptic by consumer was jungga lime 110 ml (A1) with average preferencevalue ( 3,15 ), taste ( 3,04) aroma ( 3,24), texture ( 3,07), water content ( 73, 91),protein content ( 11,51), fat content ( 2,75), pH value ( 6,70).Keywords: Jungga lime, carp fish (Cyprinus carpio), consumer acceptance

Abstract

The research was conducted in February 2015 to determine the concentration of heavy metals (Pb, Cu and Zn) in the flesh and shell of snail L. melanostoma collected from the west coast of Karimun Besar Island of Riau Islands Province. The differences in metal concentrations between shell and flesh as well as between stations were discussed. Higher concentrations of Pb and Cu were found in the flesh, whilst zinc concentration was found to be higher in the shell of the snail. The highest Pb concentration was found in Station I (8.105 μg/g) and the lowest was in Station III (6.476 μg/g). The highest Cu concentration was found in Station II (5.193 μg/g) and the lowest was in Station III (4.333 μg/g). Meanwhile the highest Zn concentration was found in Station III (7.675 μg/g) and the lowest was in Station II (7.408 μg/g). The MPI value of the metals in the west coast of Karimun Besar Island still quite low when compared with other reported regional studies. Keywords: Lead, Copper, Zinc, snail, shell, flesh, Karimun

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the swimming speed of the free swimming intank and flume tank, an outdoor durability of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), and maximumswimming speed tilapia in flume tank. Therefore, to use experimental methods. Free swimmingspeed was 0,25 BL/sec, maximum swimming speed of fish occurs when the fish are given ashock to swim. Negative correlation between speed and endurance swimming R2 = 0,7295 showsa fish swimming endurance decreases at higher speeds. Sustained tilapia swimming speed of<1,91 BL/sec. Prolonged swimming speed effect tired very high the body of the fish. Tilapia hasprolonged speed of 1,91 to 16,28 BL/sec. Maximum swimming speed tilapia is >16,28 BL/sec,while fish baung 10,5 BL/sec. Frequency flick of the tail of the fish in the aquarium has anegative correlation with R2 = 0,0161, whereas in the flume tank has a positive correlation withR2 = 0,4471. The amplitude flick of the tail of the fish in the aquarium and in the flume tank hasa negative correlation with the value R2 = 0,0004 and R2 = 0,903.Keywords: tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), flume tank, swimming speed, free swimming speedand maximum swimming speed.

Abstract

The research was conducted on March 2015 in ocean fishing port of Belawan, Medan,province of North Sumatra. The objective is to of the investigate level efficiency forutilization of cold storage facilities. The method using is survey method. Existing facilities atthe PT. Golden Cup Seafood is cold room I, cold room II, semi contact/multiplate freezer andair blast freezer (ABF). Cold room I utilization rate is 75% and the utilization efficiency rateof 90%. The utilization for cold room II is 101.4% and level of efficiency for its utilization is75%, for semi contact/multiplate freezer both level of utilization and efficiency are 100%.The utilization rate of air blast freezer (ABF) is 39.1% and the rate of utilization efficiency of42.8%, for tool namely hand lift, the utilization rate of 66.6% and the level of efficiency ofutilization is 100%. from the analysis of the efficiency of utilization of cold storage facilities,that almost all the facilities already be used properly and efficiently only require an increasein good layout arrangement and preparation design to increase the utilization and efficiencyof existing facilities.Keywords: Efficiency, utilization, cold storage

Abstract

Osteochilus wandersii or lelan fish is a type of freshwater fish that inhabit the Rokan Kiri River. This fish has high economical value, around Rp 30.000-50.000/Kg. However, information on its biological aspects, especially the reproductive biology is poorly known. To understand the reproductive biology of this fish, a study has been conducted from February to April 2015. Total fish captured was 168 (76 males and 92 females). Sex ratio between male and female was 1:1.2. The GSI of male was 0.45%-0.88% and that of the female was 0.82%-3.86%. The fecundity of the fish were 5,772-9,087 eggs/fish. Egg diameter was 0.2-0.8 mm. The relationship between fecundity and standart lenght was y = 1.379x + 0.883, fecundity and body weight was y = 0.581x + 2.858 and the fecundity with ovary weight y = 0.596x + 3.582. The water quality parameter shown are as follows: temperature 26-28°C, transparency 21.5-41.5 cm, pH 6, DO 5.6-7.8 mg/L, CO2 3.9-5.9 mg/L, and current speed 0.40-0.64 m/s. Data on water quality parameters indicate that water quality in the Rokan Kiri River is able to support the life of the fish.Keyword: Osteochilus wandersii, Rokan Kiri River, GSI, fecundity, and eggs diameter

Abstract

Osteochilus wandersii or lelan fiah is freshwater fish that inhabit the Rokan Kiri River. This fish has high economical value, around Rp 30.000-50.000/Kg. Information on biological aspects of this fish, including the morphometric and meristic, however, is rare. To understand the morphometrical, meristical characteristics and growth pattern of this fish, a research had been conducted from November to December 2014. There were 116 fishes (66-185 mm SL and 5.39-143.13 gr BW) captured from the Rokan Kiri River. There were 26 morphological characteristics measured and 10 meristical characteristics counted. Results shown that all of morphometrical characteristics were almost isometric as the fish growing. The meristical characteristic of the fish were as follow: D.2.101/2-121/2; P.1.14-15; V.1.8; A.1.41/2; C.2.17, the number of scale in the pre-dorsal fin was 10-11, lateral line scale was 33-36, around the body was 27-29 and around the caudal peduncle was 14-16. The Lenght-weight relationship shown that the growth of male and female fish was isometric (b = 3.09). The water quality parameter shown that temperature 25-28 °C, transparency 12-40 cm, pH 6, DO 4.7-6.48 mg/l, CO2 17.97-27.96 mg/l, and current speed 0.327-0.625 m/s. Data on water quality parameters indicate that water quality in the Rokan Kiri River is able to support the life of the lelan fish.Keywords : Osteochilus wandersii, Rokan Kiri River, morphometric, meristic, growth patterns

Abstract

The research was conducted on March 2015 at held at Fish Landing Base(PPI) Dumai Pangkalan Sesai Regency, Dumai Barat Subdistrict, Dumai City inMarch 2015. The puropse is find formula total of fuel must carried fishing vesselof sondong. The method used is survey method. From the analisis correlationresults obtained among total of fuel carried by vessel size, engine size anda enginelife is Y = 193,391 – 14,205X1 + 0,419X2 – 2,120X3. Abstract

The research was conducted on 27 March to 3 April 2015 in the Village of West Berandan Tangkahan Durian Langkat District of North Sumatra province. The research goal is to investagate increase in business scale and increase revenues before and after the program. Of the various indicators of business as the implementation of business partnership program soft shelled crab cultivation triangle pattern has increased the scale of business of 252.5 kg/person/year, increase the production of 466 kg/person/year, and grow profits for beneficiaries an average of 22.168.500/ person/year. Business partnership program soft shelled crab cultivation triangle pattern has given the average rate of profit to the owners of capital of 0.54% per year or 4.5% per month and this has far exceeded the interest rates on deposits offered by banks, which only reached 7 to 12% per year. Controllers aspect of the program also provides a profit of Rp. 66.97431 million or 58.2% per year and has opened up jobs for two people with a minimum salary of each of Rp. 2,000,000 per month.Of the various aspects that have been evaluated, we conclude that the business partnership program soft shelled crab cultivation triangle pattern appropriate to proceed and the business opportunities that provide benefits to both the beneficiaries, the owners of capital and controllers.Keywords : evaluation, partnership program, triangle.

Abstract

This study was conducted in May 2015 in Kampar river Pelalawan village, Pelalawan district, Pelalawan regency, province of Riau. Purpose of this study was to obtain data on environmental parameters become the benchmark fishing grounds and fishing activity there. Environmental parameters measured are temperature, current speed, brightness, depth, acidity (pH) and dissolved oxygen. After doing this research is that the condition of the Kampar river Village Palalawan still quite good and still support for life of organisms that were in it and deserves to fishing activities in these waters.Keyword : fishing ground, environmental parameters, kampar river

Abstract

This research was conducted in January 2015 with the aim to determine the characteristics of the sediment vertically in Bengkalis Strait. This research used survey method which divided into 7 stations. Sediment samples were taken by using gravity cores. Analysis of the sediment was carried by the size of the analytical method and the drying method.The results showed that sediments in the location was dominated by sand fraction, then mud and gravel fractions. The result of Sediment grain size analysis showed that Bengkalis Strait have characteristics of coarse sand, medium sand, fine sand, very fine sand, silt and medium coarse silt with sorting coefficient consists of well sorted, moderately well sorted, moderately sorted, sorted pooly and very pooly sorted. The distribution of sediment was very fine skewed, fine skewed, near symmetrical, coarse and very coarse skewed. Common sediment characteristics between the station was also seen in the cluster analysis. The results of cluster analysis showed that the sediment grouped into five groups showing clearly different in the characteristics of the sediment between the stations in this area.Keywords: Vertical Distribution, Sediment, Bengkalis Strait, characteristics
