Abstract

This research was intended to determine the stability of fish oil jambal siam plastic bottles and glass during storage. The using of research method was experimental method is thend performed the analysis of the number of freee fatty acids and peroxidae value is the interval of  0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 days. Data were analyzed using t-test. To see the effect of storage time on the content of free fatty acids and peroxide content of regression analysis. Meanwhile, to measure the closeness of his relationship conducted correlation analyzes. The ingredient of study are fatty fish jambal siam obtained from market arengka Pekanbaru as much 3 kg. Then the fish oil is packaged in plastic bottles and glass bottles. The study states there are differences in the stability of fish oil jambal conjoined in plastic bottles and glass. Fish oils are stored in glass bottles better than fish oil in plastic bottles, this is evidenced by the long correlation parameter storage degradation has a stronger relationship. Based on the analysis of free fatty acids and peroxide value analysis glass bottle is a bottle that best maintain the stability of fish oil jambal conjoined within the prescribed period of 40 days with an average free fatty acid content of 1.03% and an average content of peroxide 20,75meq / kg. Abstract

The research was conducted for 56 days from August to October 2015. The aim of this research was to find out respons of Osphronemus gouramy Lac fingerling on water hyacinth fermentations. The methods used in this study was an experimental method and RAL one factor with stocking density of 5 treatments. The fish used in this research with size of 5-7 cm in length and 3,3 – 5,6 g in weight. Fish were reared in 1 m3 in keramba with stocking density of 20/keramba. Feeding trials were replacing with soybean meal with water hyacinth fermentation applied to 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40% for 30% protein content.Result showed that fermentation of water hyacinth have significant effect (P<0,05) on growth, feed efficiency, and protein retentions. Replacement 10% of water hyacinth fermentation is the best respons, produce the highest growth 2.21%, feed efficiency 21.01%, protein retention 20.89%, and 52.38% feed digestion respectively.Key word: Osphronemus gouramy, Water Hyacinth,Fermentation, Rumen Fluid

Abstract

The research was conducted from February 2016 to March 2016 at Batam Mariculture Development Center .The aim of this research was to investigate the dose of Thyroxine (T4) hormone in fish meal on the growth of fish Epinephelus fuscoguttatus. The research method used was experimental method and Complete Random Device (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments in this study were control (without thyroxine hormone), 0,3 mg Thyroxine hormone/kg of feed, 0,6 mg Thyroxine hormone/kg of feed and 0,9 mg Thyroxine hormone / kg of feed. The best result was treatment on 0,6 mg Thyroxine hormone/kg of feed with absolute growth weights (17,60 g), absolute growth length (1,75 cm), specific growth rate (1,30 %) and survival rate (100 %).Key word :Thyroxine (T4), Enlargement, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine how much revenue drift fishing with gill nets in a year (travel). This research was conducted on four until ten January 2016 Pasar II Natal village Mandailing Natal district of North Sumatra province. The method used survey method of respondents 12 fisherman owner.The total investment of the owner of the fishing effort of Rp. 295,922,583.00, the average gross income of fishing effort is Rp. 402,049,500.00, the average net income of the arrest of fishing effort each year is Rp. 313,837,083.00. To get the results of the feasibility analysis on a profit of Rp. 313,837,083.00 per year (about 72), so that the profit per trip from catching 4.358.848, this advantage will be longer with the workers, so the owner can profit 2,179,424 per trip and BCR 4.56, FRR 106.05 %, 0.91 PPC period. Obstacles Drift gillnet to develop a fishing business in Pasar II Natal Village is influenced by various factors such as the length of the gear, operating costs, the number of working days, the weather and the season.Keywords: Income, Fishermen, Drift gillnet, Feasibility

Abstract

This research was conducted from January to March 2016 in Sironjong Gadang Island. The island is located in the sub-district of Koto XI, in the region of South Coast Regency of West Sumatera Province. The aimed of this research was to determine the growth and the survival rate of Acropora intermedia plantations. Experimental methods were applied by measuring the growth rate and counting the survival rate of the coral transplants. Besides, the surrounding parameters of water quality were also measured in the field. The result showed that the lateral growth of the transplant was faster than the vertical one; the values were 0.748 cm and 1.512 cm consecutively. In addition, the survival rate reaches 90 %, however, bleaching coral and dead coral with algae was also found in the first 20 days of observation.Keyword: Acropora intermedia, Growth Rate, Sironjong Gadang Island

Abstract

This research was conducted in February 2016 arowana fish property Anderson Unedo in cultivation, Desa Baru Siak Hulu district at Kampar in Riau Province. It’s was aimed to determine the amount of investment and profitability, analyze the feasibility, and assess the prospects for business development arowana fish. The method used in this research is a case study. Respondents were taken in this study is the owner of cultivation and two workers Unedo Anderson. Based on the result of the research investment arowana fish property of Anderson Unedo Rp. 487.101.000, which consists of a fixed capital of Rp. 396.885 million and working capital of Rp. 90.216 million, the results of the feasibility analysis on get a profit of Rp. 93.174 million/year and RCR 1.94, FRR 19.1%, 5.2 PPC period, and prospects for the development of fish Arowana belongs Anderson Unedo quite well, views based on the criteria of investment, marketing, and fulfillment of all the subsystems of agribusiness (subsystem supply input subsystem, farming and marketing subsystems).Keyword: Prospects, Arowana, Anderson Unedo

Abstract

The research was conducted from November 2015 until March 2016 in the Marine Microbiology Laboratory and in the Laboratory of Aquaculture Enviromental Quality of in the Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science, Riau University. The purpose of this research was to determine the adhesion ability of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) isolates on intestinal epithelial celss of red snapper (L. argentimaculatus) and in inhibiting adhesion of V. alginolyticus. Completely randomized design (CRD) method was performed in this experimental research. Two factors treated were three LAB isolates (KP 1, KP 2, KP 3 and concertio) and V. alginolyticus. Three adhesion methods applied were competitive, competition and displacement. Adhesion of bacteria to the epithelial cells was calculated based on number of bacterial cells adhered. The results showed that all LAB isolates had higher adhesion ability than V. alginolyticus. Isolate concertio indicated the highest adhesion ability (52.67±7.76 cells/epithelial cells) to the epithelial cells and the lewest was indicated by isolate V. alginolyticus (23.11±2.79 cells/epithelial cells). However, the inhibition ability of the three LAB isolates upon V. alginolyticus by the three adhesion methods was not significantly different.Keywords: Adhesion, Lactic acid bacteria (LAB), V. alginolyticus, Intestinal epithelial cells, red snapper.

Abstract

The research was conducted on November 2015 in the Estuary of Mesjid River of Dumai Regency, Riau Province. The aims to determine the amount of lithogeneus sediment that was transported through. Estuary of Mesjid. Determination of sampling points by purposive sampling, Method of sampling, where the sampling point taken was considered to represent the state of the overall area of research. Based on this sampling locations were divided into 8 sampling points. Sampling was carried out by using a water bottle sampler vandorn into three depths, i,e surface, middle and bottom waters. Measurement of current performed at the sampling point 2. Accumulated of sediment to calculate the accumulation of by using sediment traps placed at the sampling point retrieval is done 2 times a day that is at low tide and low tide 1 and 2 that at the. The amount of lithogeneus sediment transport is computed the average amount of sediment transport that comes out for seven days. Then converted data of sediment transport for 1 year, The results showed that the waters of the estuary at low tide greatly influenced by mass of river water by the discharge of 29,76 m3 / sec which is capable of transporting lithogeneus sediment amounted to 78,176 ton / year, of the rate of accumulation of sediment per year for every hectare of the sediment will settle at 289,16 ton / ha / year in waters around the estuary.Keyword : Sediment Transport, Sediment Lithogenous, Estuary of Mesjid

Abstract

  This research had been conducted on 10-20 of august in 2015 at Dompas village, Bukit Batu sub-district, Bengkalis district, Riau Province. The methode which was used in this research is qualitative methode. This kind of methode was chosen because the way how to get the data or information directly from the area by emphasizing more on the aspect of face to face and listening directly to the informations or explanations. Fishermans’ perception on the material of the investigation program given had an influence on the real application in the area where the fisherman applied the recommendation of investigation team about the convension of terubuk fish. This program could also said that it did not take serious impact on fishermans’ revenue. The program conducted should be consistent in implementing. It means that the plan of program should be continously done. It is in order to make the fishermans able to understand well what they will be done for the future. Then, the team should frequently do such a coordination or reviewing in order to know how far the developmnet has been achieved after the fishery investigation in Dompas village, Bukti Batu sub-district, Bengkalis district, Riau Province.   Keywords: Perception, material, Implementing, Investigation

Abstract

The study was conducted in January 2016 in the estuary of Dumai River, Province of Riau Indonesia, aims to determine the amount of the lithogeneus sediment, which flow through the Dumai River, and were deposited in the Estuary Dumai River. The estuary were divided into eight (8) sampling point. The result of this study showed that the Estuary of Dumai River is influenced by the water mass flow through the River (13.81 m3/s) which supply the lithogeneus sediment as much 4,644.03 gr/s or 165.6 tons/year and are deposited 0,0175 gr/cm2/day or 6,3 gr/cm2/year.Keywords: Sediment Transport, Lithogeneus Sediment, Dumai River
