Abstract

Bengkalis coast has been attacked by abrassion and to restored or to reduce the attacked adding beach buildings. The purpose of this research is to provide general information of around the coast. The method used in this research is wave forecasting uses the SPM'84 method and this research uses wind data as a wave generator. Wind data is used to get the average wind speed The results showed in this research are that the dominant wind direction for 5 years is northeast with an average speed of 7.0 meters / second with a fetch of 61.167 km. Wave height of 1.33 m and a period of 5.4 seconds. High breaking waves is 1.120 m at depth 1.682 m.    Keywords: Bantan Coast,Wave Forecasting, Groyn

Abstract

Food packaging aims to protect food products from various physical and mechanical damage. Food packaging that is generally in the form of plastic derived from petroleum is non-renewable, polluting the environment and harmful to human health. One alternative to overcoming this problem is the use of bioplastics that can be decomposed and consumed in the form of edible films. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of levels of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and glycerol plasticizers on mechanical properties and biodegradation of sago starch based bioplastics. Bioplastics were made by mixing sago starch, glycerol (15, 20, 25 % w/w) and CMC (35, 40, 45 % w/w). The resulting bioplastics were carried out by several tests which included tensile strength, elongation, biodegradation and data analysis using Design Expert. The most significant factor affecting all responses was CMC levels followed by glycerol plasticizers. The optimum process conditions were obtained at CMC content 45 % w/w and glycerol plasticizer 15 % w/w with a response value of tensile strength of 8,3 MPa, elongation of 16,8 % and biodegradation 51 %. Abstract

Sago-based bioplastics have weaknesses in low mechanical properties, so it is necessary to add synthetic plastics that are stronger but biodegradable and suitable fillers. This study aims to determine the effect of PVA, glycerol and chitosan on the mechanical and morphological properties of sago starch-based bioplastics. Bioplastics are made by intercalation of solutions,namely mixing sago starch, PVA, glycerol and chitosan. Testing samples include tensile strength, elongation, elastic modulus, tear strength, water uptake, biodegradability, and morphology. Data analysis using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with the method used Central Composite Design (CCD). The results showed that starch starch/PVA levels, glycerol and chitosan greatly influenced the properties and morphology of sago starch-basededible film bioplastic products. The best process conditions were obtained from the ratio of sago starch/PVA 1/3 b/b, glycerol 0,06 ml/g of sago starch, 4% chitosan b/b composite, with tensile strength of 15,88 MPa, elongation of 10,29%, elastic modulus 138,09 MPa, tear strength 9,32 Kgf, water uptake 73,38% and biodegradability 75,25%. These results have met SNI tensile strength 13,7 MPa specifications for bioplastic products.Keywords : bioplastics, glycerol, chitosan, tensile strength, PVA

Abstract

The campground is used to accomodate various outdoor activities such as camping, training activities, recreations, tourisms, and other activities. Scouting is a process of education outside the school and family’s environment in the term of interesting, fun, healthy, organized, directed, and practical activities that carried out in the open nature based on basic principles and methods of scouting. The campground is closely related to scouting because the process of education and scouting activities carried out in the open nature. The research methods were field surveys, literature reviews, and documentations. The scout campground design used the neo vernacular approach, which is Balai Selaso Jatuh Kembar, applied to this area and time setting of the building so it showed the characteristics of Malay architectural buildings. The researcher used one of the camp activities as a concept of this research, that is “bonfire”. The result of this study is the campground designing by applying neo vernacular architectural element featured on the area and building constructs to accomodate various activities on the open nature.   Keywords: Campground, Neo Vernacular, Universitas Riau Scout.

Abstract

Tanjung Samak is the most densely populated population in the District of Rangsang. To create good human resources, the people of Tanjung Samak want their children to study while reciting, where they continue to uplift morality or noble character as capital of Faith and devoted in the future. Islamic boarding schools as the oldest Islamic institution seems to still maintain moral education, so the existence of Islamic boarding schools can function as a means of fixing students. Research methods used through field surveys, literature reviews and documentation. Islamic Boarding Schools are designed with the theme of Islamic Architecture which is emphasized in the arrangement of buildings and appearance of buildings so as to display the characteristics of Islamic Architecture buildings. The concept used is taken from the function of the building itself, which is prayer. The results of this study found that the design of Islamic Boarding Schools applies the theme of Islamic Architecture to the look that uses the principles of repetition and the appearance of calligraphy. Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a technology designed to address the challenges of high speed telecommunications needs in every transmission. Some providers of telecommunication services has implemented technology LTE, However the LTE frequency allocation is very limited in indonesia so the implementation of LTE in some areas have not been evenly in such as in Kampar Regency. The purpose of this research is to know the number eNodeB LTE Network that covers in Kampar. This study uses Link Budget for calculating eNodeB in Kampar regency the for frequency used is 900 Mhz with badwidth 5 MHz and 10 MHz. The calculation of eNodeB on this research using calculation Okumura Hatta. The results for bandwidth 5 MHz is 7211 for Urban, 2049 for Sub urban, 316 for Rural and for bandwidth 10 MHz is 1015 for Urban, 246 to the Sub urban and 42 for Rural.Keywords: LTE, Link Budget, eNode B

Abstract

iodiesel is one of the alternative fuel substitute environmentally friendly solar. The use of biodiesel as fuel for diesel engines can lower emissions compared to petroleum diesel. Total petroleum reserves are declining causes high world oil prices, to address this then required the development of renewable alternative energy derived from vegetable oils, biodiesel that is one of them. This research aims to produce biodiesel from CPO uses a heterogeneous catalyst La/ZnO, determine the characteristics of the catalyst and biodiesel as well as determine the selectivity of the catalyst La/ZnO. La/ZnO catalyst made of metal by way of La in the impregnation into the ZnO with 3% (b/b) ZnO, drained using the oven and calcination, oxidation and reduction. The process of making biodiesel is made through one stage of esterification and Transesterification was conducted simultaneously, stirring speed variation (200, 300, and 400 rpm) catalyst weight variation of ZnO 0.5 1, 1.5 and 2%, weight 80 grams and CPO sample methanol oil ratio against methanol 1:9 is inserted into the reactor for Transesterification reaction lasts for 60 minutes at a temperature of 60 ° c. This research resulted in the largest biodiesel yield on never stirring 200 rpm with a weight of catalyst 1% of 92.48%. Characteristics of catalyst has a surface area of 14.590 m2/gr La/ZnO catalyst has a good selectivity againts methyl palmitate. Keywords: biodiesel, CPO, La/ZnO catalyst, transesterification

Abstract

Renewable energy is a natural energy source that can be directly utilized freely. In addition, the availability of renewable energy is unlimited and can be used continuously. One of them is by utilizing waste that can potentially be converted into electricity. So far in the Pekanbaru the waste has not been sterilized. It is only founded in the garbage dump of Muara Fajar. Pekanbaru has an area of 632.26 km², with a population reaching 1,064,566 people, every day being able to produce trash up to1,112 tons (density 0.3). By looking at the situation, it is necessary to do a proper analysis to determine the feasibility of building a power plant garbage power. The method used for calculating NPV and PP is the least cost method. From the results obtained the amount of electrical energy produced in a year 112592260.99 kWh / year, while the NPV value = Rp 80,061,249,724, and PP value 8 years. Lastly, the results of analysis given the construction of PLTSa in Pekanbaru fulfill the eligibility criteria to be based.. Keywords: energy, garbage dump, NPV, PLTSa, waste

Abstract

This research aims to produce bricks by adding few layer graphene (FLG) and studies the effects of firing temperature and graphene concentration on the characteristics of the produced bricks. The produced bricks were tested their compressive strength, porosity, morphology using the scannning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The brick was made by adding the few layer graphene to the clay, then mixed them and casted in size (5x5x5) cm3. The samples then dried at room temperature for a week, and fired in furnace for 1 hour at the temperature variation of 600 °C, 800 ºC, and 1000 °C with graphene concentration variations of 10 mg/ml, 20 mg/ml and 30 mg/ml. The results showed that the highest compressive strength (9 MPa) and lowest porosity (6.1%) was exhibited by brick synthesized using graphene concentration of 30 mg/ml and the firing temperature of 1000°C. The Scannning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis results showed that the addition of graphene reduced the porosity of the brick. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis results showed that a diffraction peak of few layer graphene at 25.41º and the graphene did not influenced the crystal structure of the brick. This research showed that the increase in firing temperature and concentration of graphene made the structure of the brick increasingly dense. The few layer graphene could improve mechanical strength of the brick by reduce the stress concentration and prevent the development of the cracks.Keywords : bricks, concentration, compressive strength, few layer graphene, firing, graphene, porosity

Abstract

The development of Korean culture that continues to expand to various countries in the world is causing greater interest in Korean culture. Activities related to Korean culture, both traditional and popular, requires centralized facilities. The Korean Cultural Center is a cultural facility that accommodates activities to finds information, and learns and promotes Korean culture in an area. The Korean Cultural Center that introduces Korean culture should reflect the characteristics of Korean culture it self. As well as the characteristics of Neo vernacular architecture transforming the value of traditional culture into the concepts of its design. This design aims to support activities that increase cultural values that are educative, recreational and informative. Design methods used include original data collection, studies and empirical studies library. The result of the design is building as a cultural center that consists of 3 main functions, thait is entrance zone, exhibition zone, and education zone so that it is able to meet the needs of the Korea culture connoisseur in Pekanbaru.Keywords: Cultural Center, Korean, Neo Vernacular
