Abstract

Oil sludge is the result of the last distilation and deposition of petroleum. Oil sludge containing chemical compounds and heavy metals that are harmful to the environment. The management of oil sludge waste that is justified by regulation is by utilizing it into a construction product. This experiment aims to determine the effect of agregate replacement on a mixture of modified asphalt type Hot Roll Sheet – Wearing Course (HRS – WC) and maximum levels of oil sludge that can be used in mixture. In this study, the agregate constituents used mountain rock agregate with variations of oil sludge 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% of asphalt weight. Replacement of constituent aggregates causes an increase in the value of density, VMA, and mixture stability. Effect is caused by good aggregate. Based on Marshall characteristic, replacement agregate increase stability and void in mineral agregate (VMA) value also decrease optimum asphalt content.Keywords: oil sludge, modified asphalt, HRS – WC, Marshall characteristic

Abstract

The New Garuda Sakti substation (GI NGS) is a substation that function to reduce electrical power losses at Pekanbaru region. This substation has five feeders of 20 KV which are distribution the load from the previous feeders supplied from three substations. By calculating the amount of power losses, electricity costs, comparison of power losses before and after in the New Garuda Sakti Substation, it can be seen the effectiveness of the substation construction. The total power losses before being supplied from the GI NGS is 201,801.77 W and after being supplied from the GI NGS is 34,251.94 W. Then, the average power losses per month can be reduced by 43,600.05 W and the average savings cost per month is Rp. 26,468,513.33. Thus, the presence of GI NGS is very effective in reducing electricity losses for the Pekanbaru region and saving operational cost for the company.Keywords : The effectiveness of GI NGS, distribution load, power losses, average power losses

Abstract

The fault occurs in electric power systems is a critical problem that can affect system reliability. In this study, the protection of power system using the Fuzzy Relation (FR method). The FR method is designed to implement Artificial Intelligent (AI) to predict the work of protective equipment in electrical power systems, namely, state relay status and Circuit Breaker (CB) utilizing the sequence of protective equipment operating time. The logic operating time of this protective device is built on the sagittal diagram. Furthermore, there is a three-dimensional matrix also used to represent the circuit topology in the protection system. Operating time of the protective devices utilizes by the power circuit topology matrix that will be generated every CB status when operating. The test data for the system model have been run on five bus systems in Riau, which is conducted with five fault scenarios. Simulation results found are the fault of each line L1 and L2 with membership degrees of values 0.9419 and 0.9310. The application of the FR method is very suitable to be given a prediction in the protection of the electric power system because it can anticipate more faster the fault that occurs in the electric power system.Keywords: circuit breaker, Fuzzy Relation, protection system, relay, sagittal diagram

Abstract

The identification of corn plant leaves can be done manually using human eye vision because based on the physical characteristics of the corn leaves that are affected by the disease will undergo changes in the shape and color of the leaves. However, it has a weakness when the corn leaves will be identified in many quantities and each age has a different judgment of the colors seen. In general, for the identification of diseases that attack the leaves of corn plants is processed by utilizing Digital Image Processing consisting of four main parts, namely Image acquisition, Preprocessing, Extraction of color traits, and Classification. The picture of corn leaves is taken using the camera, with a total of 200 images of corn leaves that have been infected by the disease, training and testing data on the system. The feature extraction method used is a Color Moment as the extraction of color features to get the value Mean, Standard Deviation, and Skewness as the input data for neural network processes. The classification method on this system uses a Backpropagation-based Neural Network with Matlab R2018a. The result of identification of disease type leaves of corn plants are four: Bercak Leaves, Bulai Leaves, Hawar Leaves, and Karat Leaves. The system is able to detect the disease of corn plant leaves with an accuracy rate of 90% and error 10%.Keyword : Image Processing, Preprocessing, Color Moment, Backpropagation, Matlab R2018a

Abstract

Progressive collapse is the collapse caused by the collapse of an element of the structure of the building which will then affect the nearby structure resulting in a collapse either partially or completely. In the urban area the development of construction technology of the structure is now increasingly advanced, the shape building structures are not only in regular but also in irregular. The irregular of the structure would cause progressive collapse of the building. Building collapse occurs due to the burden of earthquakes, gas blasts, and collisions from airplanes. This research aimed to analysys collapse behavior of the building structures consist of a conventional plate system. Analysis was conducted according to in General Service Administration (2003). The structural strength inspection was conducted finite the element by using software. Irregular structures experienced progressive collapse when demand capacity ratio more than 1.5. The results of the analysis showed that there was an increase in the moment ratio value to the column elements and beam elements induced by the deletion of one of the column elements, in some elements the demand capacity ratio value exceeded 1.5 which was then the building collapsed. The collapse occured on the part of the elements around the elimination of columns and the type of collapse of the building was classified as an pancake-type collapse.Keywords : Progressive Collapse, Irregular Structure, Slab, Demand Capacity Ratio, General Service Administration

Abstract

Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from transportation activities are the highest contributors to air pollution as much as 85%. One of the most implementative efforts to minimize the impact of global warming is through the provision of green open space. The purpose of this research is the value of carbon dioxide emissions from the number of motorized vehicles year as well as the value of the ability to absorb public green open space on CO2 emissions from transportation activities in Siak Hulu Sub-district and Tambang Sub-district. The method used in this research is recording traffic activities to calculate CO2 emissions values and calculating all public green space based on the number of protective trees that have a diameter of 20 cm, vegetation cover, and calculating the percentage of absorption capacity of public green open space. The results of the research obtained, CO2 emissions from amounting of motorized vehicles in Siak Hulu Subdistrict amounting to 81,413.03 tons CO2/year and in Tambang Sub-district amounting to 121,120.89 tons CO2/ year. The results of the analysis show that the existing public green open space in Siak Hulu Sub-district with a percentage of 1,67% and the Tambang Sub-district with a percentage of 1,13% hasn’t fulfilled the absorption of CO2 emissions from transportation activities. Abstract

Eupenicilium Javanicum is a mold that has high heat resistance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of temperature (T: 80 ° C, 85 ° C, 90 ° C) at soluble solid SS: 10 ° Brix on the thermal inactivation of E. Javanicum spores. Then determine the value of D and Z. This study uses the thermal method of pasteurization process and spore calculation using the spread plate method. The D-values obtained at SS 10 ° Brix for temperatures 80, 85 and 90 ° C were 10.82; 4.63; and 1.45 minutes and the Z-value obtained is in the at 11,47 ° C. It was shown that haiger temperature resulted in the decreasing of the timeneeded to inactivate the spores. The results of this study emphasize the importance of temperature to the D and Z value for pineapple juice pasteurization.Keywords: Ascospore, Inactivation, Pasteurization, Pineapple juice, E. Abstract

Throughout human history major advances in culture have always been followed by increasing energy consumption. Hydrokinetic energy can be used in savonius turbines, with the density of water greater than the density of air, the Savonius hydrokinetic turbine can extract sufficient kinetic energy even at low water flow rates. The purpose of this study is to determine the static torque and dynamic torque generated from the two-level savonius turbines type bach. The hydrokinetic turbines were studied three stages savonius type of bach turbines with varying first and second levels (15 cm: 15 cm; 17 cm: 13 cm; and 20 cm: 10 cm) at the same of total turbines height. The aspect ratio of dimensions were 1.1, 0.2 of overlap ratio, rotor height of (H) 0.3 m, rotor diameter of (D) 0.33 m, turbine diameter of (d) 0.3 m, and with variations in water flow velocity of ( V) 0.3 m / s and 0.65 m / s in the water tunnel. Both of these torsions were obtained in stationary conditions (static torque) for each azimuth angle and moving conditions (dynamic torque) of no load and until they stop rotating by utilizing the braking force on a pulley with variations in loading. Based on the data obtained, the results of bach savonius type turbine research produce the largest dynamic torque of 0.42 Nm and static torque of 0. 528 Nm in variations of 15 cm: 15 cm.Keywords : Savonius Turbine, Static Torque, Dynamic Torque

Abstract

The process of blood distribution before transfusion requires a cooling unit that is able to maintain the temperature, so that blood can be maintained and not damaged before transfusion. Peltier elements are chosen to be used as coolants in the blood cool box because they are small so they can be operated in a limited space and operate at 12 volt. The design carried out in this case is the manufacture of blood cool boxes for the distribution of blood over long distances. The peltier element is used type of TEC1 12706. The ability of the cold side of the peltier element based on the calculation results of 18.65 Watt which is used for cooling the box. The lowest blood cool box temperature is obtained from no load testing of 14.23 ° C and the maximum load of 23.22 ° C. And the lower the temperature difference between the hot side and the cold side, the higher the amount of heat absorbed, and will affect the value of the Coefficient of Performance, which will be greater if the absorbed calorific value is greater.Keywords: Peltier Element, Blood Cool Box, Coefficient of Performance.
