Abstract

Along with the development of fast wireless technology, car to car communication (C2C) has been widely used in communication between vehicles for internet access and safe driving control. During the last few years, the design of antennas using transparent materials has attracted the interest of researchers. This is due to the low thickness and light structure of transparent materials compared to conventional designs. In this study, the transparent antenna based on LTE technology for C2C communication is developed. This antenna works at 1.8 GHz with return loss of -27.98 dB. Abstract

utilization of a dynamic world energy consumption in the limitations of fossil energy reserves has created opportunities for the use of microalgae as a biofuel. The use of microalgae as a feedstock source for bioethanol production requires high yields of both biomass and carbohydrates. one of the potentially mikroalga as raw bioetanol is Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Chlorella pyrenoidosa has a carbohydrate content in the cellulose and hemicellulose form in its cell wall which can be utilized for bioethanol production. Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) has been studied for their potential as medium growth of microalgae due to high nutrient content. This research was conducted with variation of POME concentration (0; 25; 50; 75 ; 100%v) in medium and addition of synthetic nutrient in the form of urea as nitrogen source and TSP as phosphate source with ratio (2:1 ; 1:2 ; 0,5:1) to enchance the algae growth. The result showed the highest carbohydrate concentration was 184,1 mg/L at cultivation condition of POME concentration 25%v with ratio (urea:TSP) 2:1.Keywords: Chlorella pyrenoidosa, Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME), Urea, TSP, Carbohydrates

Abstract

The process of making meatballs is still using a very manual method that is by using the hand. Making manually requires a long time and is still doubtful about its cleanliness. One solution to this problem is to design a meatball molding that can help small businesses to produce more efficient and effective processed meatball production. The results of designing a molding machine for meatballs with a capacity of 250-280 grains/minute, produce specifications using an electric engine drive with a power of 1 HP with a speed of 1440 rpm. The source of the forces acting on the shaft is the pulling force on the belt. The engine transmission system uses pulleys with an outer diameter of 2 inches and 9 inches that connect the motor to the connecting shaft with v-belt type A no 38, from the connecting shaft to the cutter with 2 pulleys with a diameter of 3 inches using a v-belt no 20, then pulleys connecting the connecting shaft with the stirrer shaft with a size of 3 inches and 7 inches using v-belt type A no 42. Abstract

The savonius turbine is a vertical axis wind turbine that can be used in low speed waters. The compounding is to make a six-blade savonius type bach with three large blades plus three small blades where the small blade is 2/3 of the length of the large blade with hydrokinetic driving force. Variation of the water velocity is 0.34 m / s and 0.59 m / s. This study the shape and dimensions of the turbines used are the height of the 300 mm turbine, the diameter of the turbine is 330 mm, the length of the blade is 150 mm and the length of the blade is 100 mm. In this study the data collection process using pulley as a conductor of power which is given a load to calculate the load that can be taken by the turbine and above the pulley is given as a pointer to measure static load. The purpose of this study was to determine how much the static and dynamic torque of a six-blade bach type savonius turbine with three large blades and three small blades.Keywords: Turbine savonius, large blade, small blade, hydrokinetic

Abstract

The Very High Frequency (VHF) Gound to Air (A/G) Approach Control Service (APP) Radio device consists of a transmitter and a receiver. Each transmitter and receiver consists of main transmitter (primary) and backup (standby / secondary). VHF A / G that has a frequency limit of 118-137 MHz. The power emitted by the VHF-A / G antenna within the APP area is in the range of 30-50 Watts. The control of VHF-A / G communication performance is carried out in the APP area when the airplane is at altitudes ranging from 0-20000 ft outside the airport lane. In this case, the Transmitter and Receiver have a level of reliability that supports the equipment performance. Moreover, it is the MTBF and the condition of the equipment that act as reference in determining the increase of Reliability. Based on the data, it showed that the reliability of the MTBF from 2017-2018 remained constant, there was no significant change, which was 36.78%. The condition of the reliability VHF A/G APP primary in 2016 was 60% and secondary 100%, meanwhile in 2017 was 53% and 93%, and in 2018 was 46.67% and 86.67%. After obtaining the reliability value, it is adjusted to the readability (Readibility) of ATC and the pilot uses the Level Indicator method. Readibility produced in 2018-2019 from VHF APP primary obtained scale 4. In the meantime, due to the disturbance on the secondary scale that occurred at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, the readability got scale 1.Keywords: Reliability, Readibility, MTBF, Condition , Level Indicator, VHF A/G

Abstract

Electricity loads thrive every time, where the amount of loads affect the availability and supply of electricity every day. The calculation of changes in electrical loads for every 30 minutes in 24 hours, electrical loadscould produce various electrical pattern developments at certain times in different days, to understand the changes of the pattern of electricity loads for the future. These pattern could be use for prediction orforecasting method on the daily data of electrical loads using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) with the Backpropagation Method. The prediction is applied to daily electricity loads data for the SUMBAGTENGregion (Central Sumatra), data from 2013 are used for training, 2014 are used for model testing, and data from 2015 as comparison of ANN prediction results from 2014 data testing. Optimal model training isobtained by trying each training function and changing various training parameters to get the lowest Mean Square Error (MSE) value. The results of various training ANN models showed that using the traincgptraining function at 200 hidden layers and learning rate is 0.01 obtaining a training MSE value is 10025,265. By applying the optimal ANN model on the 2014 electrical loads to predict the 2015 electricalloads, the accuracy of error from the ANN model is obtained by the value of Mean Absolute Perscent Error (MAPE) is 5.42%.Keywords: Electric loads, electric loads forecast, artificial neural network, Backpropagation.

Abstract

The cellulase enzyme is a collection of several enzyme that work together to hydrolyze cellulase. Cellulase enzyme are widely used in the textile, food, detergent, bioefuel and pulp and paper industries so that the enzyme needs continue to increase every year. The production of cellulase enzyme using natural substrate which is widely available in Indonesia, namely empty palm bunches as a carbon source as an expensive carboxymethyl cellulase (CMC) substitute and using Bacillus substillis isolates. This study aims to obtain optimum conditions for cellulase enzyme production with acid pretreatment on oil palm empty fruit bunch substrate and variations in pH of the medium using Bacillus substillis. Pretreatment was carried out so that lignocellulose biomass is more easily hydrolyzed and increases glucose level which will enter the next production phase. Variations in the pretreatment were carried out by adding with acids as well as variations in pH 6,5;7,0; and 7,5. Enzyme activity was calculated using the Nelson-Somogyi method. The result showed that the highest enzyme activity was obtained at pH 7,0 and 40ºC at the pretreatment TKS with acid of 0,041 U/ml. Abstract

SMAW welding (shield metal arc welding) has advantages in the current and welding angle that can be varied, and the penetration width of the electrode melting can be adjusted. This study uses a SMAW welding machine with a sliding adaptive two axis system design so that the electrode angle in the welding process is constant, this design is the development of a vertical sliding adaptive system. This study varied the angle of the electrode to find out the results welding from the SMAW welding machine with the sliding adaptive two axis system. In this study the characteristics of welds are based on visual observations and mechanical properties using a tensile test. The parameters varied were the electrode angles 45°, 70°, and 90°. the welding speed controlled by Arduino Uno. The material used was low carbon steel, using campuh V with a slope angle of 60°. In this study the metal splicing area that had the highest tensile strength was 533.44 MPa and the lowest value was 399.88 MPa with 9 specimens varied. The micro-welding structure is determined by many factors including heat input, current strength, welding speed, and cooling rate. In this study the HAZ region has a larger grain structure than the base metal and weld metal.Keywords: smaw welding, sliding adaptive two axis, electrode angle, seam v.

Abstract

Meatball molding machine is a tool used to shape meatballs automatically by using electric motor power. The design stage is consists of needs analysis, preparation of product technical specifications, design of product concepts to produce alternative product concepts, which are then selected concepts to be made. From the form of the concept to be made, static analysis is carried out on the mechanical components of the meatball molding machine frame, which includes stress, deformation due to loading, safety factor and the number of welded wire. Static analysis was carried out in two ways, namely by manual calculation and finite element analysis using Autodesk Inventor 2016 Student Edition Software. Based on the results of the static analysis, the results of the maximum pressure was 0.5274 MPa on rod 1, 0.7031 MPa on rod 2. Deformation length was equal to 0.008721 mm on rod 1, 0.00116 mm on rod 2. The Safety factor was occurred 43.6 in stem 1, 32.7 in stem 2. The welding wire was used 8.635 sticks. The cutting time of the required frame components was 5.76 minutes. Keywords: meatballs machine, frame, stress, welding

Abstract

Astronomy Center is an education and research tourism destination that collects all forms of activities and needs for astronomy. The importance of the role of astronomy for Indonesian people who mostly live from farming and sailing, as well as an increase in astronomy centers, driven by the construction of facilities that can accommodate complex activities in the field of astronomy. Bukittinggi was chosen as design location because it fulfilled various special requirements in the construction of the Astronomy Center. Astronomy Center Design applies Daniel Libeskind's design principles based on his design thinking and explores broad ideas. The design method used consists of literature data, interviews, and field surveys for data installation. The main concept of the design was named "The Born of the Star", which was taken from one of the phenomena in astronomy, namely "Supernova Phenomenon (Star Formation)".
