Abstract

The use of sago starch in production of bioplastic is an efforts to utilized natural resources in Riau Province. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and sorbitol can be added when the process for making bioplastic sago starch-based was carried out, to improve the quality of bioplastic. The aims of this research were to produced biodegradable plastic composite blends based on sago starch-CMC using sorbitol as plasticizer, to assess the effect of CMC and sorbitol as additional materials on mechanical properties, water uptake, and biodegradability of bioplastic, and also to determine mathematical relationship between the research parameters and the characteristics of bioplastic statistically using response surface method (RSM). This research were started by mixing sago starch, CMC (35, 40 and 45%w/w starch) and sorbitol (20, 25, 30 and 35% w/w total solid). Bioplastic obtained by this process were characterized by mechanical properties analysis, water uptake test, and biodegradability test. Based on the empirical equation obtained, the addition of CMC would increase the tensile strength, water uptake and biodegradability of bioplastic, while the addition of sorbitol would increase the percentage elongation of bioplastic. At optimum process condition, CMC 42,27% and sorbitol 24,25%, the best result with tensile strength 6,776 MPa, percentage elongation 18,134%, water uptake 69,418% and percentage biodegradation 55,459%.Keywords: bioplastic, carboxymethyl cellulose, response surface method, sago starch, sorbitol

Abstract

Remote access for industrial operation of 3-phasess induction motor is so needed to reduce human errors it others benefits. Therefore, in this study remote access is design for the operation of 3-phases induction motor by also using Zigbee pro S1 and Arduino Uno as data transmission media. The control system in the 3-phases induction motor is a remote and an actuator unit. The remote control device is equipped with two Command Buttons for ON command and OFF command, and one Light Emitting Diode (LED) as an indikator of motor condition. The actuator unit is equipped with a motor driver circuit to operate the motor according to the received command. Feedback circuit reads the condition of motor then sent it back to the control device. From the entire results of testing, actuator unit can operate the motor in accordance with the "ON" or "OFF" command, given by the control device. It also able to provide feedback according to the condition of motor. In addition, distance testing can also be achieved by Zigbee with placing the actuator unit in a room, namely the laboratory remote control is outside of the laboratory. From the test, results in, the maximum distance that can be reached by Zigbee is 76 meters, while based on the calculation of Zigbee mileage is 188.79 meters. It is caused by the attenuation factor in the calculate is ignored, not like in the laboratory testing.Keywords: remote control, 3 phases induction motor, Zigbee, arduino, Zigbee mileage.

Abstract

Promotion and Investment center in Pekanbaru is a facility of Rokan Hulu goverment aims to promote and expose potential posses by the Rokan Hulu such as natural resources, tourism sector, tradition, history, as well as the potential for industry and mining, also provides potential information of the existing workforce. The center is aimed to attract and facilitate prospective investors to access information and potential investments without visit to the Rokan Hulu, in order to improve and enhance climate investment. In addition, apart Representative Office, the center also serves as a venue for events and gatherings of the apparatus of government and the envoys of Rokan Hulul. The Rokan IV Koto Architectural Approach has chosen because it is one of the architectural heritages which is in the Rokan Hulu. Research methods used include field data collection, studies, and empirical studies library. Abstract

There are many factors that affect the sands shear strength. One of the most important factors is the shape of the sand grains. The shape of sands in nature varied greatly, from angled to rounded. Natural sands from the river is usually rounded, while the sands from stone crusher is usually angular. The sands that is expected to be rounded in shape comes from the Kampar River and the sands is expected to have an angular shape from Kota Kijang quarry. In this research, the shape of sand grains were captured using a specified smartphone camera. The image then were analyzed using Image-j software. Direct shear test was carried out on various relative density of dry sands (loose and dense condition). Image analysis shows that Kampar’s sand is sub-rounded, while Kijang’s sand is sub-angular. The value of internal friction angle (ϕ) sub-angular sand is 14% greater in dense conditions and 8.7% greater in loose conditions than for sub-rounded sand. The value of internal friction angle (ϕ) is based on relative density (Dr) in dense conditions greater than 6.3% among fellow sub-angular sands. The value of internal friction angle (ϕ) is based on relative density (Dr) in loose conditions greater than 0.5% among fellow sub-rounded sands.Keywords : Sand, the shape of grain, image-j software, relative density (Dr), shear strength, direct shear test.

Abstract

The development of the Electronic Industry in Pekanbaru is increasing every year. But in the development of the Electronic Industry, many electronic sellers are spreading and not centralized in the city of pekanbaru. An obstacle for the community to look for information on electronic goods, so that it can be concluded that the means of promotion and information are inadequate. An electronic is needed for seller facility or facility centered in Pekanbaru city to bring people together in searching for electronic goods, therefore to overcome these problems, a container such as Electronic Central is needed to provide facilities for electronic entrepreneurs in Pekanbaru. Abstract

Laying out a good Wi-fi System requires optimizing the power level which is received from the transmitter to the receiver. The most influential value in determining the performance of the Wi-fi system is the value of the power level, because this value used to determine the coverage area of a transmitter (access point). Using genetic algorithms due to the existence of various references and as suitable algorithm for problems related to optimization. This algorithm can find the best solution from various possible solutions quickly and efficiently compared to other algorithms. Research conducted optimization by comparing the results of optimization with the existing conditions. The purpose of optimization is to arrange access point to produce efficient signal coverage and strength. The research location is on the 6th and 10th floor of the PT. Telkom Witel Rider Building. In the 6th floor there are 13 access points with the coverage area increasing to 59.2% with the signal strength being at -70 dBm to -75 dBm. This research is conducted to find out the ideal position and number of access points. The total access points needed are 13 pieces with a coverage area of 59.2%, and the signal strength value being -70 dBm to -75 dBm. Abstract

DFMA is defined as the design of a product or component that can facilitate the manufacturing process and the assembly process with other components to become a whole product. The process of molding meatballs plays an important role in the production process or economic process. Meatball molding machine has the working principle of stirring the dough by rotating the stirring knife, which is stacked on the shaft that receives rotation of the pulley and gears driven by an electric motor. Meatball dough that is already inside the stirrer will be pushed towards the cutting knife using a stirring knife, then the cutting knife serves to form the meatball dough into meatball granules. The development of a simplified design is needed to increase efficiency and reduce time in assembling meatball molding machines. Design development does not change the function of each product component. The calculation of the efficiency of the assembly of meatball molding machines in Patin Village was carried out at the beginning of the study, then a combination process and component elimination were carried out which did not affect the value added of the product. Meatball molding machines in Patin Village have 24 engine elements with 77 components, requiring 11 minutes 50.47 seconds assembly time and 10.13% assembly efficiency while the engine design development results have 21 engine elements with 64 component components, requiring 8 minutes 5.17 seconds assembly time and assembly efficiency of 12.98%.Keywords: DFMA, Meatball Molding, Meatball Molding Machines, Assembly Efficiency

Abstract

CNC machines (Computer Numerically Controlled) are machines that are controlled by CNC machines computers using numerical instructions (command data with code numbers, letters and symbols). CNC work system technology is a combination of computer and mechanics, so that when compared with similar machine tools, CNC Milling machine tools can be rigorous, more precise, more flexible and suitable for mass production. capable tools Currently CNC machines are increasingly being made or developed either CNC machines in large scale dimensions or in prototypes. Assembling 3 Axis CNC Milling Machine prototypes, namely X, Y and Z axis. The purpose of the research is to find out the important components and how to operate them, the level of precision, the accuracy and the area of the work area of the machine. The 3 axis CNC Milling prototype machine has dimensions of engine length X 40 mm, Y 38 mm and Z 16 mm. The 3 Axis CNC Milling prototype machine has the advantage of being able to create images which are then forwarded to the 3 Axis CNC Milling machine in the production process. The test results obtained an accuracy value of 0.5 mm, the value of the precission of the X axis line pattern was 0.087 mm, the Y axis was 0.099 mm, and the diameter of the circle pattern was 0.064 mm.Key Words : CNC Milling 3Axis prototype, Work Area, accuracy, precission

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HAp, Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) is one of the calcium phosphate compounds which is the main inorganic component of composing human hard tissue such as bones and teeth. Hydroxyapatite (HAp) is a material used as bone implant, adsorbent and catalyst. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the Ca/P ratio (1.57; 1.67 and 1.77) and reaction pH (9, 10 and 11) to degree of hydroxyapatite crystallinity, and compare the results of XRD hydroxyapatite characterization on the variations carried out. The research begins with the calcination process of coral reefs to form CaO which is made into PCC using the carbonation method. Coral PCC and (NH4)2HPO4 were reacted using hydrothermal vessels with variations in the Ca/P ratio (1.57; 1.67 and 1.77) and mixing pH of reactants at (9, 10 and 11), reaction time for16 hours at 140oC. The synthesis results will be analyzed using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM-EDX) and Brunaeur-Emmet-Teller (BET). The hydroxyapatite results were obtained on the condition of 1.67 Ca / P ratio and pH 11 with a crystal diameter of 26.91 nm, crystallinity degree of 74.55%, final Ca / P ratio of 1.66 and wide surface which is 27,003 m² / g.Keywords: hydroxyapatite, hydrothermal, carbonasi, precipitate calcium carbonate

Abstract

The 5G technology is the next phase of wireless network communication development. Adaptation of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) techniques into 5G technology is used to produce high data rate communication, low power consumption and bigger network capacity compared to 4G technology. Antenna design that can work on millimeter waves with high gain, better efficency and compact size antenna is needed for 5G mobile devices. This paper proposed the design of MIMO antenna for 5G smartphone application with gain>10 dBi and bandwidth>500 MHz. The proposed antenna is designed by RT Duroid 5880 substrate with the overall size of 44,8x4,4x078 mm3, consisting of 1x6 element linear array antenna. The proposed antenna yields bandwidth of 5,68 GHz at frequencies range 36.05 GHz to 41.74 GHz and 11.4 dBi of gain at 38 GHz frequency.Keyword: Antenna Smartphone, 5G, Beam steerable, MIMO.
