Abstract

Press tool is a tool to produce a component in bulk with the same shape and size, so that it becomes the desired production item. Jigs and fixture is a tool that holds a production workpiece, which can be the doubling of components accurately. This research aims to connect the two devices, jigs and fixture is needed as a link between the top and bottom positions of the press tool and to grip the workpiece so it doesn't move when the production process is being carried out. The use of a bending press machine as a pressing force on the press tool so that it can produce in large quantities in a relatively short time, the work area of a large bending press is 2500 mm x 140 mm x 300 mm, allowing many press tools to be joined by press bending, because jigs and fixture only measures 300 mm x 250 mm x 300 mm. The parts of jigs and fixture are top position, bottom position, and dies. The method used the finite element using inventor software to determine the voltage, deflection and safety factors of jigs and fixture. From the results of manual calculation, it was found that the force needed to cut a 2 mm thick plate of 160 Kn. From the results of the inventor analysis for the upper and lower plates obtained the maximum voltage of 33.8 MPa and 67.28 MPa, deflection of 0.01513 mm and 0.01284 mm, safety factor of 15.Keyword : Jigs, Fixture, Press Tool, Press Bending, Autodesk Inventor

Abstract

Furnace is a heating equipment for petroleum processing, which requires the largest operational costs in the processing business. During the first quarter of 2019 Pertamina II of the total raw materials used amountedto 10.16% for processing energy needs of which 75% of the energy consumed by the furnace. Furnaces that are operated with optimal conditions will result in savings in operational costs. Analysis of furnaces has been carried out by analyzing energy efficiency after Turn Around in 2019 and comparing it with data before Turn Around in 2017. As a result, efficiency was obtained after Turn Around in 2019 by 97% and before Turn Around in 2017 at 68% -75%. It was known that when TA-2017 has been carried out a total replacement of tubes,castables, and stacks or repairs of the mayor. Abstract

Pollution by domestic waste is not only produced from residential areas nevertheless is also produced by attempt in tourism especially lodging facilities and infrastructure such as hotels. One of the effects is the wastewater that produced by the hotel. The hotel wastewater treatment using membranes by ultrafiltration is an easy and effective way. The fabrication of silica membranes is also assisted by supporting materials that is compound by Polyvynil Alcohol (PVA) and Polyethylene Glicol (PEG). In this researches the synthesis of silica membranes with variations composition of the silica mass 8, 10, and 12 gram. The aim of this researches is to learn the effect of variations composition of the silica mass on the membranes synthesized towards separation of the BOD5, COD, and TSS that contained in hotel wastewater. The deflation level of BOD5, COD, and TSS were done by passing hotel wastewater through the silica membranes which is synthesized. The optimum coefficient of silica membranes rejection for deflation level is BOD5, COD, and TSS repeatedly are 72,12%; 79,09% and 87,61% along the value of flux that produced is 22,562 L/m2.Hour. The getting larger composition of silica membranes, then the measure and tightness of the membranes pore that produced are getting bigger and organized along with the coefficient of rejection (%) will also decrease.Keywords : flux and rejection, hotel wastewater, membrane, silica, ultrafiltration.

Abstract

Adsorption is the binding process of a molecule from the gas or liquid phase into an adsorbent from an adsorbate. Adsorption is one method of processing peat water. Tropical Almond shell is one of the organic wastes that has the potential to be used as an adsorbent because it contains cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. The purpose of this study was to determine removal efficiency of Fe and organic matter in the peat water, calculating the adsorption capacity and determine thw appropriate type of isotherm. Variable that was given in this research consisted by mass variation 4,5 dan 6 gr and contact time of 30, 60 and 90 minutes.the resultsof the study showed the efficiency of removal of Fe and organic matter concentrations higher 53,62% and 41,39% by mass of adsorbent 6 gr with a contact time 60 minutes. Mettal adsorption capacity of Fe achieved the highest on the mass of 6 grams with a contact time of 60 minutes amounted to 0,00754 mg Fe/gr, while the adsorption capacity of organic matter achieved the highest on the mass of 4 grams with a contact time of 60 minutes as amounted to 10,125 mg organic matter/gr. Types of adsorption isotherms corresponding to Fe and organic matter by Tropical Almond Shell (Terminalia Cattapa) adsorbents is Freundlich isotherm with R2 values of 0,951 to 0,9936 for Fe and organic matter.Keyword : Adsorption, Tropical Almond shell Adsorbent, Peat Water.

Abstract

Khusnul Khotimah Sosial Care Pekannaru is the only state-owned nursing home in Pekanbaru City, but with the increasing number of displaced elderly people, this nursing home can no longer accommodate elderly people. Besides capacity, design adjustments to the condition of the elderly must be done to create a conducive living community for the elderly themselves, this is because the elderly no longer have physical or mental stability. In this regard, the research methods used conducted to collect field data, literatures, and empirical studies. This redesign attempt has shown how the elderly must be cared for, shape behavior of elderly and the design that still adapts to the condition of the elderly. The results confirm that the principles of Caring Environment can be more appropriate in design for the elderly.Keyword: Caring Environment, Redesign, Nursing Home, Social Care

Abstract

Installation of the directional blade in the front of the rotor can improve the performance of the savonius turbine, because it can prevent negative torque on the convex side of the rotor and direct the amount of water mass on the concave side of the rotor without affecting the convex side of the rotor. This study aims to find the dynamic torque and static torque of the savonius type bach hydrokinetic turbine using the streering plate with variation α 30˚:β 10˚, α 45˚:β 10˚, and α 60˚:β 10˚ utilizes water as the driving fluid with variations in the velocity of water flow 0.34 ⁄ and 0.51 ⁄ and is carried out using experimental methods on a laboratory scale. Based on the tests carried out, at a water flow rate of 0.34 ⁄ the maximum dynamic torque of 0.48 Nm was obtained at angle variation α 45˚:β 10˚, while at a speed of 0.51 ⁄ water flow obtained dynamic torque maximum of 0.60 Nm in angle variation α 45:β 10˚. Abstract

Corrosion is the interaction of materials with the environment that result in damage to material and the environment. a method of restricting the occurrence of corrosion processes with inhibitors. An organic inhibitor that is an inhibitor that is made from natural materials available in nature. Extract of banana peels contains tannin compounds that can prevent corrosion. The purpose of the research was to determine yield and extract of banana peels maceration method, determine the rate of steel corrosion using inhibitor corrosion, and determine the influence of the concentration of inhibitor, corrosion, media and contact time variation of the rate of corrosion. This research began with extract of banana peels is done by the method of contact during the maceration time with the 7hari. Then proceed with the contact of steel corrosion on media that is HCl and NaOH concentration extract with 0 gr/L and 1 g/L on the contact time of 12, 24, 48, 72 hours. The results of this study showed the greater the concentration of the inhibitor of the smaller banana peels extracts the rate of corrosion.Keywords: banana peels, carbon steel ASTM 36, corrosion rate, green inhibitor.

Abstract

This paper proposes an optimal degree distribution for Coded Random Access (CRA) exploiting Multi User Detection (MUD) with capability of K = 3. The CRA with MUD K = 3 can support the fifth telecommunication generation (5G) networks and massive machine-type communications, including the Internet-of-Things (IoT). The optimization is performed by the help of Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) chart, a visual tool describing the behavior of the wireless networks, and a series of computer to validate the expected results. We found that the IoT networks using the proposed optimal degree distribution, having only two terms with less exponent, can achieve the maximum offered traffic (G∗) of 2.736 packet/slot.Keyword: Degree distribution, multi user detection, coded random access.

Abstract

The last decade has been enormous invasion of wireless device in the evolution of technology. The requirement of high throughput is needed to provide the quality of device such as audio, data, video, and games. However, the connected devices grown and increase critcially year by year. Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) that has been embedded for 4G technologies as the one of technology is more likely adapted on 5G to improve the data peak rate for SNR(Signal-to-Noise Ratio). High gain and better efficency are needed for Base Station as transmit the power to receiver or connected device. MIMO can be confirmed as the solution to increase the gain with better effeciency. This paper proposed the design of MIMO antenna with high gain. The proposed antenna is designed RT Duroid 5880 substrate with the overall size of 136.5x40x0.127 mm3. The MIMO consist of 20 element antenna that achieved 26.4 dBi of gain at 38 GHz frequency and 22.2 dBi at 28GHz. Keyword: MIMO, 5G, High Gain, Base Station, Microstrip.

Abstract

Tofu factories located in Sigunggung Subdistrict, Pekanbaru, produce 0.9 to 1 m3 of liquid waste every day, and are immediately disposed of without going through the processing process so that they pollute the environment. The analysis shows that the liquid waste is not in accordance with Permen LH No. 5 2014. In this study the electrocoagulation method was used to reduce COD, BOD, TSS and neutralize pH. By varying the current strength, electrode distance and time the results obtained as follows: (1) the effective variation of electrode distance is 2 cm current strength of 0.6 A at 60 minutes can reduce the COD concentration to 76.36%, BOD 72, 83%, TSS 85.16% and pH to 6.31. (2) effective variation of current strength is 0.6 A distance of 2 cm at 60 minutes can reduce COD concentration to 72.90%, BOD 71.69%, TSS 83.83% and pH to 6.13. The results of the research obtained are in accordance with Permen LH No.5 2014.Keywords : electrocoagulation, TSS, COD, BOD, pH
