Abstract

The Steam Power Plant is one of the largest electric energy provider in Indonesia. In general, the performance of a power plant was evaluated by using the first law of thermodynamics (conservation of energylaw). The first law of thermodynamics only examined the quantity of energy consumption. The purpose of this study is to analyze the work of components, incoming heat, and also nett work from the system so that the energy value of the system is obtained in the form of energy efficiency from the cycle of PT RAPP's 100 MW Steam Power Plant. From the results obtained, pump I work is 0.0047 MW, followed by pump II 1.35 MW, heat is198.27 MW, turbine work is 87.09 MW, and net work is 85.73 MW, so thermal efficiency at PT RAPP steam power plant is 43.24%.Keywords : steam power plant, energy, thermal efficiency

Abstract

House of literature appreciate come to support the environment which supporting the literature growth in West Sumatera. This building have function as creativity area. A place for gathering and as place for litterateurs to interact with one another, and also as a reading area for visitors and researchers. So that, it can rise their interest in appreciate of literature. Due to historical and strategic position, so, Kota Padang Panjang choose as site. Meanwhile, Robohnya Surau Kami by A.A. Navis, a writer born in Padang Panjang, become planning concept. The characteristic and value in that short-story displayed again as a house of literature appreciate through architecture metaphor. House of literature appreciate likened as Robohnya Surau Kami through transforming the literature elements on that short-story into architecture perspective. Transformation is done with metaphor method. Generally, it developed physical form building which came from that short-story title, mass shape come from conflict I short-story, landscape that described short-story background, and optimize the facilities to support individual activities, but still blending around as a form of application of the short-story theme.Keywordrs : House of literature appreciate , Robohnya Surau Kami, Architecture Metaphor

Abstract

Recycling techniques for pavement construction are reuse of existing pavement construction materials, which are reprocessed either with or without adding new materials. Old road Pavement is usually called Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP). AC-WC (Asphalt Concrete - Wearing Course) is a layer of pavement that is directly contacted to vehicle tires. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding anti termite and asphalt penetration 60/70 towards Marshall characteristics on concrete asphalt mixture (AC-WC). In this study, the termite and asphalt penetration 60/70 were added as fluxing material from RAP material. The bitumen content obtained from the RAP material used is 6%. The anti-termite and asphalt penetration levels of 60/70 used in this study were 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2% for mixed weight. The specifications used in this study were following General Spesification of Bina Marga 2010 (3rd Revision) using the Marshall method. From the results of testing the Marshall characteristics it can be concluded that the VMA and VFA values increase along with the addition of added material levels, while the VIM value and stability decrease with the addition of added material levels and for irregular flow and MQ values. The results of the VIM, VMA, VFA, stability and MQ values meet the spesification, while the value of flow is vice versa. Optimum Additives Content (KBTO) cannot be found because the flow value does not meet the specification. Keywords: Termite, Aslphalt, AC-WC, General Spesification of Bina Marga 2010 the 3rd Revision

Abstract

SMAW (Shield Metal Arc Welding) is a welding technique using electric current that forms a current arc and webbed electrodes. In the SMAW welding process there are parameters that determine the quality of the welding results. This welding handlebar drive control system is made to simplify work, especially in the field of welding and get constant parameters. The research method is used the working principle of CNC 2 axis machines. The CNC 2 axis machine is able to move in the direction of the X and Y axis in the work plane and have high precision and precision. This welding handlebar drive control system is controlled by Universal G-Code Sender software. Making microcontroller-based welding handlebar drive control systems makes changes to the metal welding process easier, because operators only input data as desired. From the test results of the X and Y axis movements get the same results between the program and the actual, X and Y axis joint movements, limit switch testing and sliding movement speed that get results in the form of graphs and Tabels.Keywords : SMAW, Control System, Microcontroller ATMega 328P, Limit Switch, Arduino UNO

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) is the most stable form of calcium phosphate, which is widely used in various medical applications, mainly in orthopedics and dentistry due to it’s similarities with inorganic mineral component of bone and teeth. However, in spite of chemical similarities, mechanical performance of synthetic hydroxyapatite was very poor compared with that of natural bone. It is possible to improve the properties of hydroxyapatite ceramics by controlling important parameters of powder precursors such as particle size, particle shape and agglomeration. In this study, synthesized of hydroxyapatite used PCC and (NH4)2PO4 as raw material by using precipitation method. The PCC was made from duck’s eggshells with carbonation method. The hydroxyapatite obtained by varying the temperature (30oC, 50oC, 70oC) and pH (8, 10, 12), would be sintered in 500 oC and then characterized by using SEM and XRD. Plate-like hydroxyapatite was synthesized at temperature 30oC; pH 10 and temperature 50oC; pH 10, needle-like hydroxyapatite was synthesized at temperature 70oC; pH 10. XRD analysis showed the similarities with standard hydroxyapatite ICDD 01-072-1243. It has been found that the degree of crystallinity had been raised as the temperature and pH increased.Keywords: duck eggshells, hydroxyapatite, particle shape, precipitation

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a technology developed by 3GPP as a development for cellular communication technology. LTE is a technology that can send and receive data at high speed. In Rokan Hulu Regency there are several areas that have not been reached by LTE and have a low Reference Signal Receipt Power (RSRP) value of approximately -100 dBm from ≥ -95 dBm from the standard. This study aims to optimize the LTE network based on planning by coverage and planning by capacity using the TDD radio access method. Specified frequency LTE is 2300 MHz, it is using 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidth. Coverage based on signal levels with a frequency of 2300 MHz with non-contoured maps at 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidth has a signal level value of ≥ -95 dBm at 99.99% and 100%. Coverage of signal level simulation results with contoured maps at 5 MHz and 10 MHz bandwidth has a signal level value of ≥ -95 dBm at 71.2% and 76.43%. So based on these parameters it can be concluded that the TDD technique with a bandwidth of 10 MHz is feasible to apply to Rokan Hulu Regency.Keywords: LTE, planning by coverage, planning by capacity, TDD, bandwitdh, signal level.

Abstract

The multi-function of clamping stick serves to pick up items, to replace light bulbs, to catch snakes, to reach objects in the cupboard that are not reachable to the hands and so on. Its multi-purpose can reduce the process of bending and standing and when pick up objects and collecting waste becomes hygienic. In this research the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was chosen as a method to determine the optimal design a multi-function clamping stick which based on the questionnaire given to the expert, to choose the best decision alternative. The initial questionnaire was made to prioritize consumer needs, that used for the initial design. The consumer needs's questionnaire was made on several aspects, namely: flexibility, design, material, safety, usebility, function, dimensions and aesthetics. The next step was the selection of optimal designs using Fuzzy AHP, which involves Experts based on product quality indicators i.e. functional, performance, ergonomic, durability, serviceability and esthetical. The highest indicator value was obtained for Waste Clamping stick of "functional" with a value of 0.369 and optimal design choices for "alternative 1". The Light Bulb Clamping stick was obtained the highest indicator of "functional" with a value of 0.369 and the optimal design choice of "alternative 1". The Snake Clamping stick was obtained the highest indicator of "functional" with a value of 0.370 and the optimal design choice of "alternative 2".Keyword: Clamping Stick Design, Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process(FAHP)

Abstract

Membrane is a selective and semipermeable layer that lies between two phases, namely feed phase and permeate phase. Membrane synthesis usingsilica with phase inversion method. The purpose of this research were to make membranes of silica for waste Rhodamin Bwith 0; 0,15; 0,30; dan 0,45 gram by weight PEG and operating pressure of 1, 3, and 5 bars. This research produced porous membrane. The characterization membranes analysis were SEM analysis, flux and rejection. Based on Flux and rejection results showed that membrane with 0,30 gram composition of PEGwith of porous is 0,056 μmwas the most effective performance with the flux operating pressure 1, 3, and 5 bar was 18,13 L/m2.h, 31,20 L/m2.h, 41,36 L/m2.h and rejection elimination of Rhodamin B was 81,15%, 59,62% and34,08%. Based on characterization of membrane permeability, selectivity, and porous statistic showed that membrane silica were proven as membrane ultrafiltration. With a range of flux of 10-50 L/m2.h and a range of porous of 0,001-0,1 μm.Keywords: phase inversion, membrane, waste Rhodamin B, ultrafiltration

Abstract

Peatlands play an important role in climate change and biodiversity which is currently increasingly threatened. Peat land in Indonesia is quite extensive, which is around 20.6 million ha or 10.8% of Indonesia's land area. In Sumatra, fires in wetlands / peat are a major problem that continues. At the same time, fire is used as a tool in the use of peat land, there is high population pressure and development on the land. It is necessary to identify, study and solve fire problems based on sustainable development and conservation of peatlands. This research method is to analyze the combustion triggering caused by cigarette butts and the rate of combustion that is affected by air flow. Peat testing is carried out on peat that has been dried in the oven for 8 hours. The sample treatment by giving cigarette butts as a trigger and giving air flow with the average speed of Riau province. The maximum temperature of peat combustion is 892 ° C and the average creepage velocity is 68.37 mm/hour. Burning cannot be triggered if the peat is wet.Keywords: peat fires, fire phenomena, influence of air flow

Abstract

Rating Curve is a equation to describe correlation between of the stage-discharge in AWLR (Automatic Water Level Recorder). This equation (formula) is important for the planning of water resources and hidrology model. The equation in AWLR on the site Pantai Cermin Surb-Watershed Siak Hulu in years of 2002-2009 is not-available because it hasn’t data of the rating curve equation based on it, This research was developed to predict the rating curve equation on the site Pantai Cermin.This Research using Matlab R2013a software as a tool with ANFIS Sugeno Model. The data in ANFIS Sugeno Model using combination between data of stage-discharge in years of 2002-2006. The output of that is the data discharge in year of 2008. Result of this research with using of these data that it consist of 70% of the training data, 30% of the testing data, and 100% of validation datais a very good of the correlation value. The correlation values of this research are 0.99999, 0.99998, and 0.99999. The equation of the rating curve in 2009 is the Q=22,279 x H1,3036 with the correlation value R=0,9999587.Keyword : Rating Curve, ANFIS, Model Sugeno, Site of Pantai Cermin.
