Abstract

One of main causes of interruption of electrical power supply is the lightning strike on overhead power transmission lines. The lightning performance of transmission line can be determined by value of shielding failure flashover rate (SFFOR) and back flashover rate (BFOR). The object of this study is to create a computer application to compute lightning performance on the transmission lines using Python programming. Pythons package tkinter used for program interface window. Application programming is done by using the concept of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using Pythons keyword class. Validation shows that the application has applied the method correctly with a percentage error 0 % for SFFOR and 0,344 % for BFOR. The application can do analysis on the factors that affecting SFFOR and BFOR such as the effect of thunder day, tower foot resistance, and number of isolator disks. The results obtained in this study is computer application that can perform lightning performance analysis and analysis of factors that can affect it, such as thunder day, tower foot resistance and the number of isolator disks. Abstract

The need for phenol and acetone in Indonesia is increasing every year. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, in the last 5 years, the amount of phenol imports was 20,000 - 26,000 tons/year and the amount of acetone imports was 17,000-22,000 tons/year. Phenol is used as raw material for caprolactam industry, raw material for bisphenol-A whichis used in the manufacture of alkylphenols, phenolic resins, and anilines. While acetone is used as a solvent for waxes, gums, dyes, resins, oils and cellulose. The phenol and acetone factories were designed using the KBR process with cumene as raw material. This plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours / day with capacity of 30,000tons / year which will be established in Dumai, Riau. The main tool designed is a phenol distillation tower (D-106) which functions to separate phenol from its mixed compounds. The distillation tower has a height of 10.3548 m and a diameter of 2.286 m with a type of sieve tray distillation and torispherical head with a phenol product purity of 97%. Total Capital Investment for phenol and acetone factories was Rp. 185,258,095,680 with a Fixed Cost value of Rp. 71,474,886,729. The economic analysis of the feasibility of the factory shows that the factory is feasible to build, which can be seen from the analysis of the IRR value obtained of 49.82%, the ROI value of 19.84%, and the pay back period of 4.54 years.Keywords: acetone, cumene, distillation tower, KBR process, phenol

Abstract

Indoensia have various folk stories with any tittle and messages in the story, certainly become local wisdom in Indonesia. The story from every province in Indonesia, including in Riau province. But in nowadays, childern’s interests to folk story is decrease, folk story from abroad are very popular, for example Snow White and Cinderella. The ways can be do for take the memories interest people especially the children to Riau folk story by developt Theme Park which amusement park that tells about folk story in Riau. This theme park applying simulator technology so visitors can feel the atmosphere in the story from simulations on the amusement park. This folklore Theme Park applies the concept of "story of 4 Rivers". The concept selection that will be applied to this Theme Park is to choose based on folklore in Riau because the function of this building is Riau Folklore Theme Park, which is a theme park of Riau folklore. In this theme park visitors can get entertainment, children can get moral values to social values from the story and hoped after visiting this place children can apply these messages in their daily lives and can bring back their interest to Riau folk story. Abstract

According to the peatland fire risk index, peat soils with a water table depth of more than 40 cm are at the very risk of land fires. Groundwater Level (GWL) plays an important role in determining the risk of fire. So that if changes in groundwater level in the future can be predicted, the risk of fire can also be minimized. The purpose of this study was to create a hydrological model to predict the depth of groundwater level (GWL) as a parameter of the potential for the fire to occur in peatlands using analysis. The data used for modeling are rainfall data and groundwater level data that have been recorded historically in peatlands with the installation of the SESAME tool at the study site. Regression analysis was carried out using four data length scenarios, namely 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months to determine the periods that could represent hydrological conditions in the field. The results of the study resulted in a regression formulation for the prediction of the data length of 3 months, namely: Wn + 1 = Wn + 1,049 × R - (-0.0093 × Wn) + 0.0153, data length 6 months: Wn + 1 = Wn + 0.577 × R - (-0.0272 × Wn) + 0.0233, 9 months data length: Wn + 1 = Wn + 0.612 × R - (-0.0287 × Wn) + 0.0237, 12 months data length: Wn + 1 = Wn + 0.666×R - (-0.0248 × Wn) + 0.0229. Abstract

Fatty alcohol is needed in various industries such as the perfume, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. The need for fatty alcohol continues to increase every year. The import of fatty alcohol has been carried out but the demand for fatty alcohol has not been met. this led to the establishment of a fatty alcohol factory with the main raw material being crude palm oil to cover this need. This factory was built with a capacity of 130,000 tons/year which will be established in Pelintung, Dumai. The fatty alcohol production process is carried out with 3 processes such as pretreatment, transesterification and hydrogenation. The main equipment design in this factory is fatty alcohol distillation which works to separate fatty alcohol as the top product from methyl ester as the base product. The feed, distillate and bottom temperatures in this distillation tower are 150 oC, 147.016 oC and 231.355 oC with a pressure of 1 atm. The fatty alcohol distillation has 5.99 m (235.8268 in) high, 0,8 m (31.52 in) outside diameter, and uses skirt support. Economic analysis on the design of this plant shows that this plant is feasible to build with a factory Payback Period (PBP) of 0.93 years and BEP at a capacity of 20 %. Abstract

BPS data shows that motorbikes are the most widely used vehicle and the number continues to increase every year. This has a negative impact, namely increasing motorcycle exhaust emissions and endangering the environment and human health. The study states that the cylinder capacity and age of the motorcycle have a significant effect on the resulting exhaust emissions. Currently, the most motorbikes on the market are motorcycles with cylinder capacities of 110 cc, 125 cc and 150 cc with a service life of under 5 years. The purpose of this study was to measure CO2 exhaust emissions and to analyze the effect of cylinder capacity and service life on exhaust gases produced using SPSS v. 24.0. This research was conducted by direct measurement using a gas analyzer on a motorcycle in idle condition and the results were analyzed using SPSS v. 24.0. The results showed that the value of CO2 produced in motorcycle samples at various ages and cylinder capacities was below 12%. Keywords: Exhaust Gas Emission, Motorcycle, Idle Condition.

Abstract

Concrete has several advantages and disadvantages. One of the weaknesses of concrete is crack. The strength of concrete will decrease if there are cracks. One of the innovations that can overcome the problem is by using bacteria as a concrete mixture material. One way to overcome cracks in concrete is to add Bacillus subtilis bacteria. Bacillus subtilis bacteria is able to repair cracks in concrete. This study used concrete with a mixture of Bacillus subtilis bacteria with variations in the volume of different concentrations namely 105 cells/20 ml, 105 cells/25 ml and 105 cells/30 ml. Bacterial concrete soaked in the sulfate solution. This study examined the mechanical properties of concrete, namely compressive strength and flexural strength. Testing is carried out at the concrete age of 28 days and 56 days after soaking the sulfate solution. Based on the results of the study obtained that the volume of the best concentration of Bacillus subtilis bacteria on concrete is 105 cells / 20 ml, with the highest compressive strength test results with an increase of 28.16% and 22.94% against normal concrete at the time of testing at the age of 28 and 56 days, the highest flexural strength test results with an increase of 11.83% and 14.74% against normal concrete at the time of testing were 28 and 56 days old in the sulfate environment.Keyword : cracks, Bacillus subtilis, sulfate, compressive strength, flexural strength

Abstract

Bioethanol is an alcohol produced from the fermentation process. Bioethanol is also called ethyl alcohol, which is produced through a microbial process, which is the opposite of ethanol synthesized from petrochemical sources. Microalgae Chlorella sp. can be used as raw material for bioethanol by utilizing microorganisms. Microorganisms used to process microalgae Chlorella sp. to become bioethanol is Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast concentration on bioethanol formation and determine the effect of fermentation time on bioethanol formation. This research phase consisted of hydrolysis, inoculum making, bioethanol fermentation, separation and analysis of bioethanol concentration. The variation of bioethanol fermentation time is 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days, while the variation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae concentration is 0.2%; 0.4%; 0.6% and 0.8% (w/v). The optimum fermentation results is bioethanol 2% (v/v) or 15.876 g/L. This optimum bioethanol concentration was obtained on the 5th day of bioethanol fermentation with a yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae concentration of 0.6% (w/v). Abstract

The development of construction technology has progressed quite rapidly, especially in the field of building materials. One form of technological advancement in building materials which has been developing until now is mortar. Mortar is a mixture of cement, fine aggregate, water and stirred until homogeneous. This study used Bacillus Subtilis as an added ingredient by examining it’s physical and mechanical properties, as well as an innovation in crack recovery in mortars using bacteria called self healing Mortar. Tests were carried out on normal mortar and bacterial mortar aged 28 and 56 days. The physical properties of the mortar tested were porosity, sorptivity and unit weight, while the mechanical properties tested were compressive strength. The results showed that the porosity value of bacterial mortality was smaller than that of normal mortality at 28 days and 56 days with a value of 12.53% and 11.8%. The results of the bacterial mortar unit weight test showed a greater value than normal mortar at the age of 28 days and 56 days with a value of 2.12 gr / cm3 and 2.184 gr / cm3. The soprtivity test results showed that the value of sorptivity mortar bacteria was lower at the age of 28 days and 56 days compared to normal sorptivity mortar with values of 0.1092 mm / min0.5 and 0.0861 mm / min0.5. The compressive strength test results showed that the compressive strength value of bacterial mortar was greater than normal mortar at the age of 28 days and 56 days with values of 20.94 MPa and 21.61 MPa. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the mortar with the addition of bacillus subtilis bacteria is better than normal mortar. Abstract

The development of a tourist attraction area in the village of Buluhcina is an effort to redevelop the tourism object of the Buluhcina Village. Neo-Vernacular approach was chosen as the theme of this design because Neo-Vernacular is a stream that embraces modernism without theleave of existing traditional elements, this is in accordance with the design concept that prioritizes local culture and still incorporates elements of modernization.
