Abstract

The people in Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency meet their drinking water needs from bottled water, dug wells, river water and springs based on the 2018 RPIJM Pelalawan Regency. The quality and quantity of drinking water has not been guaranteed. The need for water in Ukui District in 2019-2038 is 111.24 L / sec, so it is necessary to plan a drinking water supply system for the next 20 years. The transmission system that carries raw water comes from the Air Hitam River. Based on the mass balance analysis, it is found that units capable of treating raw water with water quality are in accordance with PERMENKES number 492 of 2010. The processing units are planned for intake, pre-sedimentation, neutralization, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. This plan is also equipped with supporting buildings, namely chemical buildings, water towers, sludge treatment units and office buildings. The drinking water supply system plans a drinking water distribution pipeline network made using EPANET 2.0 software, namely the main pipe network. Abstract

Change of land use in the Kaiti watershed will influence to surface flow. This surface flow will increase the potential for land erosion and sediment transport capacity. This will have a major impact on the functional life of the Cipogas Lake reservoir. The USLE method is used to estimate erosion that occurs in watersheds with the help of GIS. GIS is used to predict the size of USLE parameters. The results of the analysis show that erosion occuring in the Kaiti river basin classified as heavy class (>480 Tons/Ha/Year) and the erosion potential that will enter the Kaiti reservoir is 216,273.387 tons/yr. Abstract

Fly ash and bottom ash (FABA) is one of the residues produced from the coal burning process which is included in hazardous and toxic waste. However, the content of FABA is one reason for the utilization of the waste has been used. The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of fly ash and bottom ash in the subbase on the carrying capacity of the road and with the appropriate proportions to optimize profit utilization. This research is based on laboratory testing by testing the CBR of immersion by the 2018 Bina Marga standard. The subbase layer mixture was made in four variations. Variation I was without fly ash and bottom ash. In variations II and III fly ash and bottom ash were used as substitutes, and in variation IV fly ash and bottom ash were used as additives. Variation I with 0% fly ash and bottom ash content resulted in a CBR value of 64%. Variation II and variation III with 22% and 25% fly ash and bottom ash content resulted in CBR values of 93% and 84%. Variation IV with 25% fly ash and bottom ash content results in a CBR value of 73% so that all CBR values are fulfilled on the 2018 Bina Marga standard and fly ash and bottom ash are suitable for use in the mixture of road pavement layers. Abstract

The work built on the land which high plasticity clay (CH) that has a relatively low carrying capacity will have a short service life. To overcome this problem, efforts are made to improve the geotechnical properties of the soil by stabilizing using bottom ash (coal waste) and cement. The addition of this mixture aims to determine its effect in efforts to improve the physical and mechanical properties of high plasticity (CH) clay. The sample making in this research is based on the variation of bottom ash mixture 5%, 10%, 15% and the variation of the cement mixture is 3% and 5% of the dry weight of the soil. The UCS test was carried out as a reference to see the effect of using a mixture of bottom ash and cement. Testing of UCS samples was carried out based on curing time, with the following curing variations, without curing, 7 days and 28 days. Based on the results of the original soil UCS test, the Cu value is 10.55 kPa and the best mixed soil test value is in the variation of the soil mixture L-S5-BA15-C28 with a Cu value of 30.71 kPa. The conclusion from the research proved that the addition of a mixture of bottom ash and cement was able to increase the Cu value by 291.09% at 15% bottom ash content and 5% cement with a curing time of 28 days. Abstract

Along with the growth of society and technological improvements, the demand for electricity continues to increase. However, the development of the electric power system is not sufficient to supply the needed electrical energy. For this reason, it is necessary to regulate and manage a good electricity distribution system so that the current growth of community needs is met and has a high enough reliability. The installation failure in the electric power system cannot be avoided due to the long transmission distance. This has a major effect on the flow of power in electric power transmission resulting in a decrease in voltage and loss of electrical power. One of the ways to overcome voltage stability and improve the reliability of the electrical power system is to use a Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS). One of the FACTS devices is the Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC). The TCSC is installed in series with the transmission line and is used to increase the power capabilities of the transmission line. Regulating the reactance of the transmission line can be done by controlling the reactance of the TCSC so that the power flowing can be increased. After conducting a power flow study using the MATLAB 2016a PSAT toolbox software, it was found that the voltage on the Bangkinang bus was 0.9868 p.u (148.02 kV) and on the Garuda Sakti bus was 0.9637 p.u (144.55 kV). After installing the TCSC on the Riau 150 kV transmission system, the TCSC was installed on the Garuda Sakti transmission line - Balai Pungut. The installed TCSC rating is 24 Mvar. The value of the alpha parameter is 0.2 and (-0.8) radians. After installing the TCSC, voltage stability the Bangkinang bus and the Garuda Sakti bus increased to 0.99008 p.u (148.512kV) and 0.97693 p.u (146.535kV). The percentage increase is 0.4% on the Bangkinang bus, 1.15% on the Garuda Sakti bus, the average stress on the object of research has increased by 1.15%. Abstract

This research was aimed to indicate in real-time the level of water turbidity and heavy metals (zinc, lead and iron) concentration in water of Siak river by creating a prototype design of monitoring tools. The research was conducted from upstream and downstream of the Siak River at Rumbai Pesisir Sub-District Pekanbaru. The turbidity sensor and TDS EC Meter were used by the researcher to measure the level of water turbidity. The researcher also conducted some laboratory tests in order to get the data about heavy metal concentration in water. The results were converted into NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units) and were shown on the website and database in graphic form by using Internet of Thing (IoT). The findings of the research showed that the level of turbidity in water of Siak River was categorized as “Poor” This can be seen from the result in which the overall score was 90-120 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units). Meanwhile, based on the laboratory test result, the heavy metal concentration showed there are some transformations in water of the Siak River. Abstract

Kepok banana peel (Musa Acuminate) is easily to find in solid waste in Indonesia.. One of the uses of the solid waste of Kepok banana peel is that it can be used as a natural coagulant in water treatment. In this study, Kepok banana peels were used as a natural coagulant in the coagulation process to remove Ferric content and color of peat water. Peat water was taken from Rimbo Panjang Village, Kampar Regency. Kepok banana peels was dried using oven with 60 oC temperature for 1 hour 20 minutes. Kepok banana peels are then blended into powder and sieved using a 100 mesh sieve. The coagulant dosages used in this study was 4 gr / L; 8 gr / L; 12 gr / L; 16 gr / L; 20 gr / L; 24 gr / L; and 28 gr / L. The rapid mixing speed used was 250 rpm for 1 minute and the slow mixing speed were 90 rpm, 50 rpm, and 20 rpm for 15 minutes respectively. The results of this study showed that the concentration of Fe in peat water decreased by 0.7551 mg / L with a removal efficiency of 54.23%. Different resuts found in the color parameter, the natural coagulant of Kepok banana peel was not able to remove the color in the peat water. Abstract

Based on the Work Plan and Budget Plan of Public Works Office, the Riau Province service in 2019, the provincial road handling program in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province is only based on the level of damage to road conditions and the level of road stability. The Ministry of Public Work has a definition of the purpose of road handling which is 100% stable roads. The level of road stability is determined by two criteria, the first one is steady in construction and the second is steady in traffic services. The purpose of this study is to obtain a priority sequence for handling provincial roads in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru appropriately by involving relevant parties. This study used the AHP method with 5 (five) criteria that were used to determine the priority of road handling, that is road conditions, traffic volume, accessibility, mobility and regional development. Based on AHP analysis, the importance level of each criterion is obtained to determine the priority of road handling. The results showed that the criteria for road conditions gains the highest weight 39.57% then level of accessibility 18.33%, then the criteria for regional development 18.25%, the criteria of traffic volume 12.51% and mobility criteria 11.35%. This study concludes that the most prioritized road sections in handling provincial roads in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru City in planning for 2020 is S.M Amin Road and Tuanku Tambusai Road and this study proves that the results of the author's analysis are different from the provincial roads planned by the government which to be handled in 2020, S.M Amin Road and Soekarno-Hatta Road. Abstract

Adsorption is a process in which solute liquids accumulate on the adsorbent surface and form a thin layer of atoms or molecules. The adsorbent used was shrimp shell powder. Utilization of the adsorptionprocess in the absorption of Cu metal is useful for determining the isotherm model and adsorption kinetics. In this study the adsorption process was carried out by varying the concentration of adsorbate(10, 20 and 30 ppm) and the pH of the Cu metal solution (5, 7 and 9) at room temperature. The largest adsorption capacity occurred at the adsorption pH of 5 and the initial solution concentration of 10 ppmwith an adsorption capacity value of 88.28%. The isotherm model of the Cu metal adsorption process follows the Harkins Jura isotherm equation with R2 value of 0.9990. The kinetics of the Cu adsorptionprocess followed the Elovich kinetics model with a value of R2 0.9914 and a constant adsorption rate of 0.631 at an adsorbate concentration of 10 ppm and a pH of 7 Cu metal solution.Keywords : Adsorbent, Adsorption, Isotherm, Kinetics, pH

Abstract

All human activities human will produce a residual in a form of solid called solid waste. UIN SUSKA Riau campus is a one of university in Pekanbaru with all of its activities is not hampered from solid waste production and problems coming from it, the solid waste accumulation for long days is some of problem coming out from the lack of intergrated solid waste management. This study aims to determine the waste generation and composition at UIN SUSKA Riau campus and planned waste management system that includes storage, collection, transportation in UIN SUSKA Riau campus. This study begins with the generation and waste composition studies conducted in 3 faculty, 3 offices, and 4 supporting fasilities. The study results showed the composition and in 2019 the daily waste generation of 556,28 kg/day in mass unit and 5.785 l/day in volume unit with generation is anorganic waste by 26,47% % and organic waste by 73,53%. The mass balance of the weight of daily garbage with an average weight of 556.28 kg / day, the waste that can be utilized is 436,58 kg / day and the weight of the garbage dumped is 119.68 kg / day. The recommended recycling potential is composting of 74.95%, while recycling is 24.33%. Keywords: mass balance, UIN SUSKA Riau Campus, waste generation,
