Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze and identify the minimum cost of heavy equipment usage on the reconstruction Pariaman-Manggopoh border area Padang Pariaman Regency West Sumatera Province and to give the alternative manufacture and the effective enforcement method in the use of excavator. The calculation is analyzed using Bina Marga method. Based on the result, it is found that building the Aggregate Foundation Layer class A needs minimum cost Rp. 1.587.698.428,60 and building the Asphalt Pavement Layer needs minimum cost Rp. 4.954.643.081,75. The project enforcement can be done through several manufacture alternatives.Keywords : cost analysis, productivity, heavy equipment, and enforcement method

Abstract

Processing of palm oil into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) will produce a large amount of liquid waste. To produce a ton of crude palm oil (CPO) produced 6 m3 of palm oil mill effluent. In this study, a process for removing organic compounds in wastewater using the advanced oxidation process by combining peroxymonosulfate (2KHS5.KHSO4.K2SO4) and a catalyst of LaMnO3 Perovskite. The combination will produce sulfate free radicals that capable degrading harmful organic compounds in effluent effectively. Nanocrystalline LaMnO3 was obtained by calcination at a temperature of 800 °C for 2 hours with an average crystal diameter of the highest peak of 29 nm in the shape of the Rhombohedral catalyst and the catalyst has qualified the catalyst with a nanoparticle structure. Several variations of oxidation process variables were performed to assess their effect on organic matter decline. Some fixed variables were oxidation reaction temperature 30 oC, reaction time 120 min, stirring speed 400 rpm, and concentration of peroxymonosulfate solution 2 g/L, pH of liquid waste is 8 and catalyst concentration 0,4 g / L. Conclution of this research is efficiency of 80.5 % for decreasing COD and efficiency by 15,6% for TOC reduction. This proved that the LaMnO3 catalyst is capable of activating peroxymonosulfate.Keywords : AOP, LaMnO3 Perovskite, Oxidation, Peroxymonosulfate

Abstract

Network modeling is a way that must be learned by anyone who wants to build a network, either from the type of topology, or software that will be used. In designing a computer network based on Virtual Private Network (VPN), a networker's must have techniques or methods that are network management, so that the network can be made according to need. Network management recommended by Cisco is the Cisco Lifecycle Service Approach (CLSA) method, which manages the network until the redesign stages without changing the direction of the project's objectives. The purpose of making VPN network modeling is to see the effect of topology differences, multimedia traffic and the number of users. The design uses GNS3 v2.0.3 and VirtualBox software, where GNS3 allows complex network simulations, because it uses the original operating system from a network device such as cisco so that the computer can function like a router or even a switch. In designing this network the measuring value to be in use is throughput, delay, packet loss and jitter. Scenario testing using star topology, then do 3 multimedia traffic conditions and use the condition 1 client and 2 client. From star topology test with 3 multimedia traffic, the average delay obtained at 1 client is 34,53 ms and at 2 client equal to 57,76 ms, the average jitter obtained at 1 client is 75,2 ms and at 2 client of 114.5 ms, where the delay result <150 ms (millisecond) is categorized good according to ITU-T G.107 10 06/2015. While the average throughput obtained at 1 client of 0.150 Mbits/sec and at 2 clients of 0.283 Mbits/sec, the results obtained are categorized fairly well according to ITU-T X.135 08/97 with a good categorization of 0.628 Mbits/sec. For packet loss obtained at 0%, where the packet loss < 1% is categorized good according to ITU-T G.1010 11/2001.Keyword : VPN, QoS, CLSA, GNS3 v2.0.3, VirtualBox

Abstract

The waste of palm know as waste of palm oil extraction, which is recently available abundantly. One of efforts in using this waste material is as additive in paving block industry. This research presents the efficiency of waste of palm oil extraction as an additive material of paving block at optimum mix composition regarding the paving block compressive strength, absorption and resistance to chemicals.The composition of waste of palm oil extraction was 0%, 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10% and 12,5% by weight of cement. Research results showed that the use of waste of palm oil extraction as an additive affect the quality of the paving block. The best composition of paving block in this research was the amount of waste of palm oil extraction can be added to paving block as much as 7,5%. It was shown from the value of compressive strength of 7, 14, and 28 days increased to reach 18,3 MPa, water absorption is 5,9%, and resistant to sodium sulfate. Based on SNI 03-0691-1996, paving block generated from this treatment fitted in C quality of paving block and can be used for parking area.Keywords: waste of palm oil extraction, paving block

Abstract

A drought occurs when there is a lack of precipitation over an extended period of time, usually a season or more, resulting in a water shortage. BNPB, National Disaster Mitigation Regency has issued a drought disaster risk index map in Riau province which has a moderate and high level of drought risk. Siak regency is one that is experiencing the risk of drought in riau province. Therefore, drought index analysis using rainfall data from TRMM satellite (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) was analyzed using Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) method. Drought deployment and hotspot calculations in maps in GIS (Geographic Information System). A half month period on grid 5 with a value of (-4.589) and a month on grid 4 with value (-3,863) in February 2014 is the most severe dry category SPI classification. The association of fires affected by the meteorological drought index affected the a half month period due to the presence of more fires. However, not only the meteorological drought index affects fires, but can be caused by soil types, land cover and over land conversion.Keywords: drought, drought index, SPI, TRMM, GIS

Abstract

The inundation area is an area that inundated by water in case of the drainage channel cannot accommodate the flow of discharge, which causes the material losses and disturb the community activities. However, to solve the problem of flooding in Pekanbaru can not be done thoroughly because of the limited funds. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare the priority scale of channel rehabilitation drainage in Pekanbaru. The preparation of priority scale of drainage channel is done by using Analytic Network Process (ANP) method and assisted with Super Decisions software. The preparation of the priority scale refers to the rules minister of public works number: 12 / PRT / M / 2014. The results show there are 10 locations which ranked by the priority scale from the highest to the lowest which is the highest priority is the Tanjung Datuk street of Limapuluh subdistrict and the lowest is kota baru street of Senapelan subdistrict.Keywords : Analytic Network Process, Inundation, Drainage channel, Priority scale

Abstract

Short circuit from phase to ground (ground fault) occurring in one of the stator windings of the synchronous generator can cause serious damage to the winding. Therefore, graund fault protection system is required to protect the stator winding of the generator. The method used is to analyze the magnitude of the ratio of the third harmonic voltage of the generator terminal and the generator neutral (V3n/(V3n+V3t)). This method is proven to be able to protect ground fault near neutral point or when low fault current occurred where conventional method is not able to react. To understand that the method is able to protect the fault near the neutral point then the simulation of faults were varied by the variation of fault resistance. It has been found from the result of the simulation that the method has capability to protect 60% stator winding from neutral. The 40% of unprotected winding will be protected by using conventional method in order to have a100% protection performance.Keywords: matlab, stator ground fault, the third harmonic protection

Abstract

Oxigen in the water is obtained from 2 processes specifically the first is, photosynthesis by water plants and the second is aeration which included in the diffusion process. Aerator is a device that serves to produce oxygen through the diffusion process for the needs of living creatures in the water. Aerators themselves have several types, those are ; gravity aerator (gravity influence), surface aerator (surface), diffusier aerator (mixing), turbine aerator (windmill), and combination. The aerators which designed here are aerator type of turbine (turbine aerator) similar to the aerator used in the research area generally. The purpose in the making of an aerator with this automatic system is to simplify the management and also to reduce the operational costs of the ponds. Aerator is made using 2 pieces of waterwheel with each pin having the same 6 blades with a mill used in ponds at the research site. As the basis of the automation system, the aerator is a smart relay programmed with 2 input which are the light sensor and the sensor temperature parameters in the programming obtained from the results of research on dissolved oxygen levels in the water. From the results of the testing, when dissolved oxygen levels are relatively high in the range of 30mg/L light intensity > 100,000 lux and for temperature < 350 C. Then the results of the data retrieval is made into the input parameters in the programming. The results of the device testing shows that the performance which is as expected. Aerator can work well in increasing oxygen from 8mg/L – 14.4mg/L in 45 minutes and the controller work as programmed when dissolved oxygen level below standard with indication of light intensity < 40 lux and temperature >350 C.Keyword : Aerator, Dissolve Oxygen, Smart Relay

Abstract

In this research refers to the variation of the surface geometry design of the motorcycle disc brake pads. The purpose of this study was to obtain the surface geometry of the disc brake pads and obtain the stress distribution from the surface geometry of the standard motorcycle disc brake pads. In this study was analyzed the stress that occurs on the surface of the disc brake pads. The results of the disc brake pads analysis in the study was evaluated and compared with commercial brake pads products. In the design of surface geometry of motorcycle disc brake pads using geometry modeling software (design modeler) on ANSYS release 12.1. The designs made in this study were varied in 6 designs that being compared and selected from the design, which having the highest stress distribution value. From the simulation result, it was found that having the highest stress distribution value disc brake pads surface geometry for standard motorcycle was on brake pads design 4, which can increase the tension on the surface of the disc brake pads with maximum equivalent stress value of 4.2186 MPa and its minimum value of 0.019341 MPa.Keywords: Geometry surface, disc brake pads, stress distribution, ANSYS simulation.

Abstract

Based on wind speed data from Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, Indonesia has an average wind speed of about 3-6 m / s. Wind speed can be categorized at low wind speed. So the power station needs a low-speed generator. One solution found from this problem is the development of low speed power plant technology. The wind power plant has an important component of which is a generator which is an electric machine that convert mechanical energy into electrical power. By utilizing a low speed and high torque of the direct drive system of the wind turbine. In designing this low-speed generator the magnetic field is made of neodynium magnets. The generator is designed with a speed of 750 rpm, frequency 50 Hz, induced voltage 15 V and 3 phase. Permanent magnet used with a diameter of 20mm and 3mm thick. The tests included zero load testing, load testing, anchor resistance testing, short-circuit testing and calculating voltage regulation. At the load-bearing load and weightless testing there is a decrease in stress due to the load, where the voltage regulation at the R phase is 16.1%, the S phase is 16.8% and the T phase is 13.2%. The yielded generator voltage phase S is 10.1 Vac, voltage phase R is 10.2 Vac, and then voltage phase T is 10.3 Vac.Keywords: Radial flux generator, neodynium magnet, design result
