Abstract

Risk is an uncertain condition or event. A risk has a cause and if the risk occurs, there will be consequences so that an identifiable system must be established to reduce it to a minimum to the acceptable limit. The focus of this research is the risk of the construction of Sadira Plaza and Tangram Hotel Pekanbaru. The purpose of the research is to know the risk variables that affect the project and the design formula of risk management strategy. The research step with the distribution of questionnaires consisting of 9 variables or 50 risk indicators compiled with the dichotomy scale to the employees involved in the project is PT. Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk as the contractor and PT.Target Optimal System Solutions as Construction Management Consultant obtained a total of 29 respondents with a valid questionnaire. Then the results of the questionnaire processed by using Cochran Q-Test, obtained 6 variables or 17 indicators that cause project risk. Furthermore, to analyze the fish bone diagram used to see the process of project implementation activities so as to know the root cause of the risk and make the formulation of the risk of development project of Sadira Plaza and Tangram Hotel Pekanbaru.Keywords: Fishbone Diagram, Risk, Dichotomy Scale, Cochran Q-Test

Abstract

A good and efficient generating system is essential to meet the growing demand of electricity. Stability is required in the generation process to operate optimally. One of important stability parameters is frequency stability. This stability can be achieved by controlling the frequency of power plant (i.e. steam power plant). Turbine-generator is one of the important parts in generating system where it converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. On a turbine-generator, frequency becomes the main reference parameter that identifies the normal or abnormal condition of power plant. The main problem in the power plant is sudden load changes that result in abnormal system frequency (to drop or to rise). This abnormal frequency may cause damage on part of power plant, therefore it is necessary to adjust the flow rate of steam into the turbine to obtain the nominal speed of turbine by putting a proper gain controller. The gain was estimated by using LQR method. It has been found from the results that power plant with proper gain controller is better to bring the frequency back to normal compare to without controller.Keywords : Frequency, steam power plant, Optimal Control, Matlab/Simulink, LQR

Abstract

The methods used for reducing the level of heavy metals have been developed. One of the methods used for reducing the level of Cu metal wastes in waters is the adsorption process. The purpose of this research is to observe the effects of the initial Cu+2 metal ion concentration and the mass of the adsorbent on the capability of tricalcium phosphate (TCP) to adsorb, and also to establish a suitable model of the adsorption kinetics. Add a 500 mL solution of Cu (3 mg/L, 9 mg/L, and 15 mg/L) to tricalcium phosphate (TCP) (1 gram, 2 gram, and 3 gram) in a beaker glass, stirred with a speed of 300 rpm at 30oC. Take the solution of Cu2+ at 0; 30; 1; 1.5; 2; 2.5; 3; and 3.5 minutes, and then analyze the solution of dicentrifuge Cu and Cu by using the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). The research shows that the smaller the concentration of the adsorbent and the bigger the mass of the adsorbent, the bigger the capability of the Cu+2 metal ion to adsorb. The research also obtains the value of the kinetics, with a concentration of 3 mg/L, of 1 gram adsorbent (4.3721 g/mg.min), 2 gram adsorbent (5.4432 g/mg.min), and 3 gram adsorbent (5.4925 g/mg.min). With a concentration of 9 mg/L, 1 gram adsorbent (0.9926 g/mg.min), 2 gram adsorbent (1.1154 g/mg.min), and 3 gram adsorbent (1.4401 g/mg.min). With a concentration of 15 mg/L, 1 gram adsorbent (0.1390 g/mg.min), 2 gram adsorbent (0.2490 g/mg.min), and 3 gram adsorbent (0.4805 g/mg.min). The minimum value of the adsorption kinetics is obtained at 1 gram adsorbent with a concentration of 15 mg/L (0,1390 g/mg.min) and the maximum value of adsorption kinetics constants is obtained at 3 gram adsorbent with a concentration of 3 mg/L (5.4925 g/mg.min).Keyword : kinetic, adsorption, cuprum, tricalciumphosphate (TCP) .

Abstract

Crossroad is an intersection of two or more roads that joins or crosses each other and often run into traffic conflicts. The intersection of Cempaka Road – Teratai Road is one of a intersection without traffic signs. Traffic conflicts, such as traffic jams during the peak hour, have happened frequently in this intersection. This study’s objective is to calculate the performance of this intersection based on Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia, MKJI) 1997. The study took three days to finish; Saturday (28/10/2017), Sunday (29/10/2017), until Monday (30/10/2017), with observation hours happening during morning (07.00-09.00 WIB), noon (11.00-14.00 WIB) and afternoon (16.00-19.00 WIB). Based on the conducted surveys and traffic calculation, traffic peak hours happen on Monday from 16.45 to 17.45 WIB with the value of Q = 2984,5 smp/hr, C = 3170 smp/hr, Ds = 0,94, DTI = 12,70 s/smp, DTMA = 9,08 s/smp, DTMI = 19,91 s/smp, DG = 4,02 s/smp, D = 16,72 s/smp, and QP = 36 - 70%.. Due to the calculated Ds having a value higher than the value stated by MKJI which is 0,75, a planning and regulation needs to be done for the intersection of Cempaka Road – Teratai Road. In order to make the value of Ds for this intersection lower than 0,75, a lane (B) prohibiton and a widening of the major lanes from 7,7 m and 7,6 m into 9,7 m and 9,6 m respectively were done and then the Ds value for Cempaka Road – Teratai Road intersection finally reaches the intended target with the value being 0,69.Keywords: Intersection without traffic sings, traffic flow, capasity, degree of saturation

Abstract

The objective of the study is to investigate the mechanical properties of concrete with different replacement levels of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) by Rice Husk Ash (RHA). Two RHA replacement levels were considered in the study which is 5% and 10% by the weight of cement. After the specified initial curing period (28 days), specimens were immersed directly in peat water canal for 28 days. The mechanical properties was evaluated by measuring the compressive strength and tensile strength of the concrete specimens. The result shows that the compressive strength of OPC concrete is higher than OPC concrete using RHA as cementitious materials. A replacement level of 10% RHA in OPC concrete performs and shows better tensile strength than other replacements.Keywords : Mechanical properties, OPC, Rice Husk Ash (RHA), peat water

Abstract

Tool path optimation on CNC lathe machining can set up every movement of tools move optimally to minimize processing time of a workpiece. This research purpose is simulation of tool path the CNC lathe machining for the manufacture of piston master cylinder brake of Yamaha Motorcycle by using CAD/CAM software. First design was made geometry of piston master cylinder using Computer Aided Design (CAD). Tool path was designed into 3 variations of scheme with absolute and increment of programming system using Mastercam v9. Then it was simulated to get the most optimum processing time. Simulation result was obtained longitudinal scheme time for absolute coordinate system 14 minutes 45 seconds and increment coordinate system 14 minutes 5 seconds, surface to parallel scheme for absolute coordinate system 14 minutes 30 seconds and increment coordinate system 13 minutes 48 seconds, diametrical scheme for absolute coordinate system 17 minutes 39 seconds and increment coordinate system 17 minutes 12 Seconds. The optimal processing time for making the piston master cylinder brake of Yamaha Motorcycle used the toll path of surface to parallel increment coordinate system with production cost Rp. 6.912,81,-/pcs.Keywords : Piston master cylinder, Tool Path, Absolut, Inkremen.

Abstract

Upper Siak watersheds have increased discharge due to land use change. This study aims to determine the method of transforming the Upper Siak watershed. Various hydrological modeling to calculate flood discharge has been developed, one of which used in this research is HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center-Hydrologic Modeling System). The transform method used is the Clark method and the Snyder method for modeling the HEC-HMS output flood discharge. Input calibration is daily rainfall data, hourly discharge, and 2012 land use map. Based on the calibration results showed that the method of flood discharge Clark duration of 3 hours and 6 hours have Percent value error in peak flow of 0.00 and 0.02. Snyder method of 3 and 6 hours duration have error value in peak flow of 0.01 and 0.01.Keywords: land use change, calibration, flood discharge, HEC-HMS

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite is high biactive dan bioafinity ceramic materials. Hydroxyapatite also known osteoconductive, non-toxic, and non-immunogeic. So that there are many application ofhydroxyapatite such as catalyst, fertilizer industry and pharmacy product, protein cromatography application, water treatment, bone and teeth repair. In this research, hydroxyapatite synthesised from PCC of chicken’s egg shell by using precipitation methodwith variation of pH (9, 10, and 11) and stirring speed (200, 250, and 300 rpm). Hydroxyapatite that acquired has been analyze by using FTIR, XRD, SEM-EDX, dan BET. From FTIR analysis best hydroxyapatite acquired by synthesis using pH 11 for stirring speed200 rpm, pH 9 for stirring speed 250 rpm, and pH 11 for stirring speed 300 rpm. From XRD analysis acquired hydroxyapatite with best crystalinity if it comparred with standardhydroxyapatite and smallest crystal size in pH 11 and stirring speed 300 rpm that is 23,07 nm. From SEM-EDX analysis known that acquired hydroxyapatite from synthesis in pH 11and stirring speed 300 rpm has agglomarate shape with particle size 62,5 nm and molar ratio 1,41. Abstract

The turn-milling test has three methods in the process of working are orthogonal, tangential, and co-axial. In this methods turn-milling test produces a varied surface roughness. To optimize the surface roughness in this method orthogonal turn-milling then the variation of testing is done at the rotation velocity of workpiece and feeding velocity. The testing process of turn-milling machining is performed on conventional lathe with the addition of a rotary tool. The purpose of this research is to get the optimum rotation velocity of workpiece and feeding velocity of the value of surface roughness and To know the effect of velocity rotation of workpiece and feeding velocity to surface roughness value. With increasing velocity rotation of workpiece and feeding velocity, velocity rotation of the workpiece increased will affect the surface roughness value. Based on the roughness class N, the 630 rpm rotation of workpiece parameters with feed rate of 0.060 mm is a good parameter in this study because it produces a roughness value of 1.489 μm lower than the other test.Keywords : Turn-milling, Round, Feeding, Roughness.

Abstract

This research study the compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) of OPC and OPC rice husk ash (RHA) concrete. Test will be measured after 28 days immersed in peat water. Specimens will be immersed in peat water after 28 days cured in normal water. Compressive strength of OPC concrete showed biggest value than OPC with admixture RHA 5% and 10% which is increasing amount of RHA for subsitute cement will decreasing compressive strength. Test UPV of the specimen showed OPC RHA 5% being best quality than other.Keywords: Durabilty, OPC, RHA, peat environment.
