Abstract

Indonesia is part of an area that is known for earthquake and volcano eruption activities. Because of this, one of the structural planning concept in Indonesia is by analyzing structure performance after earthquake activity. The purpose of this research is to identify performance and distribution of plastic hinge on structure storeyed buildings at Indonesia area with high intensity earthquake by using nonlinear static analysis method. Structure model is varied by height and number of floors, Model 1 is building with 5 floor, Model 2 is building with 10 floors, and Model 3 is building with 15 floors.Building is made from reinforced concrete with constant height of 4 meters. Building model receives earthquake load in the form of response spectrum of earthquake area with high ground accelaration (g). Earthquake area that is picked is at Banda Aceh with two soil condition (moderate soil and softsoil). Structure performance is decided by using ATC-40 code which is affected by target displacement. Method which is used to obtain target displacement is ATC-40 capacity spectrummethod and displacement coefficient FEMA 356. Analysis result shows performance level of all three models IO (Immediate Occupancy) are similar in moderate soil and soft soil condition.Keywords: moderate soil and soft soil condition, nonlinear static analysis, plastic hinge, response spectrum, structure performance, structure storeyed building.

Abstract

Beam as one of structural elements is generally designed to exhibit ductile behavior before failure. The ductility of the whole structure is affected by the characteristic of its structural elements. The ductility of reinforced concrete (RC) beam could be measured by curvature ductility parameter. Curvature ductility is defined as the ratio between the beam curvature at ultimate state and yielding state. The ductility curvature value can be calculated based on the moment-curvature curve. One of the structural analysis softwares that can be used to produce the moment-curvature relationship curve is Response2000. This research aims to analyze the impact of varying the reinforced concrete beam characteristics to the ductility of the beam which is performed using Response2000 software to model the singly-reinforced concrete beam. By varying the concrete compressive strength, reinforcing bar (rebar) strength and diameter, reinforcement ratio, and concrete section (width and depth of concrete), 38 models of beam were generated. Based on the analysis results, it was observed that the increment of concrete compressive strength and effective depth increases curvature ductility, whereas the increment of rebar strength and reinforcing ratio reduces curvature ductility. Manual calculations on the curvature ductility showed that the output produced by Response2000 only the average difference from the manual calculations is 15,361%. This indicates that Response2000 is a reliable tool to calculate the curvature ductility of reinforced concrete beam.Keywords: ductility, reinforced concrete, moment, curvature, Response2000

Abstract

The design of prestressed concrete bridge on high-risk seismic zones should consider the responses characteristic of the bridge structure. The structural responses such as displacement, velocity, and acceleration which are based on Indonesia’s Seismic Hazard Map, could be predicted by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method. In this research, the bridge model was adopted from the real prestressed concrete bridge located in Kecamatan Tapung, Kabupaten Kampar to analyze the bridge structural response and evaluate the potential of ANN to predict the results. The bridge structure was modeled in finite element software, then the response spectrum analysis was performed based on RSNI 2833-201X. For the seismic locations, 34 capital cities and 5 other big cities in Indonesia were chosen. Then by adding 3 soil conditions, 117 data sets were produced. Based on the analysis results, the largest structural response was observed in Palu City with 0,0738 m of displacement, 1,8406 m/sec of velocity, and 24,7666 m/sec2 of acceleration. For the ANN analysis, 102 data sets were used in training phase and the remaining 15 data sets were used in testing phase. After the training and testing process, the ANN model has the potency to predict bridge structural response at 93 to 97% of prediction rate and the calculated Mean-Squared Errors (MSE) is as low as 0,00019. This indicates that the ANN model adopted in this research is capable of predicting the structural response of bridge with high accuracy. Abstract

This research focus on study of palm oil fuel ash based geopolymer mortar which use room temperature curing condition. Amount of Portland Cement (OPC) was added to accelerate setting time of geopolymer paste. The main ingredient to make geopolymer mix use palm oil fuel ash (POFA) which contain Silica (Si) and Alumina (Al) from Dumai, Riau province activated by alkaline activator solution. Alkaline activator solution was combined by NaOH 16M and liquid of natrium silikat (Na2SiO3 ) with SiO2 to Na2O mass ratio 2,3. Alkaline activator content as 100% of total binder. Rest period of geopolymer mortar for 5 days. The geopolymer paste was cast in cube mould 50x50x50 mm. The research show the compressive strength of geopolymer mortar which addition OPC variation. Abstract

High levels of competition in the procurement process consulting services require consultants doing things or ways brilliant in order to obtain a positive result to win the auction. Competition to win the auction occurs in each of the consultants who will eventually obtained the consultant selected as a winner. On the other hand there are many consultants who follow the auction defeat, This event is certainly detrimental to the consultant because it has a lot of energy and money he has to spend. This study aims to determine the variables that influence the failure of the process of procurement of consulting services provider on government projects especially at Department Of Housing, Building Planning And Urban Development Pekanbaru. The research data obtained from questionnaires distributed to counterparties consultant and confirmed with the interview of the ULP Department Of Housing, Building Planning And Urban Development Pekanbaru. Data processing was done manually using Microsoft Excel and presented in a bar chart. Based on the research results, the most dominant variable failure of the procurement process consulting services provider during 2012 to 2014 is the issue of completing the legality either the legality of the company or the legality of experts, experts are not eligible and the offer price to compete.  Keywords: consulting services, questionnaire, experts, intervie

Abstract

The IHACRES model application has been successfully applied in Indonesia. The existence of this success, it is necessary to further develop an approach to improve the correlation coefficient at the phase of calibration, verification, and simulation by combining the wavelet transformation - IHACRES model by taking a case study in Siak Hulu sub-watershed, Riau Province. Wavelet transformation method in this research has the advantage to decomposed and reconstructed in processing a raw data of time series to increased model performance. The output of wavelet transformation model would be use as IHACRES model input. Wavelet family which suitable for modeling are Haar and Biorthogonal wavelet. This research used the variety of length data that grouped into scheme 1 until scheme 8. The results showed that the best scheme in calibration phase for IHACRES model is scheme 2 (two year calibration) with a correlation value of 0.549. Scheme 2 used for wavelet transformation - IHACRES combine analysis. At wavelet transformation – IHACRES phase, the best calibration value was the used of Haar wavelet level 1 for rainfall and temperature data with a correlation value of 0.561. The best verification and simulation phase used Haar wavelet level 1 to input the data of rainfall and discharge. The result of verication phase valued at 0.674 and simulation was 0.737 which categorized as strong correlation. According to result of reserch, the use of wavelet transformation – IHACRES provides increased performance model, if compared with the IHACRES model.  Keywords: Siak Hulu sub-watershed, Wavelet Transformation, IHACRES.

Abstract

Lubuh River which is located in the stems of Rokan Hulu Riau Province is one of the rivers that often have overflow water. Hydrology analysis is necessary to help the process of flood mitigation in Rokan Hulu. The advancement of technology in remote sensing has provide an alternative solution of data availability in hydrological modeling by using data obtained from the satellite. This research took the case study of AWLR station of Pasir Pengaraian in Rokan watershed with the length of the data in two conditions at the stage of no calibration. One condition for fourteen days (February 13, 2012 00:00 to February 26, 2012 period) and two conditions for six days (01 may 2012 00:00 to 06 may 2012 23:00 period). Based on the results at the beginning and the calibration process simulation, wave shape error after calibration is smaller than the initial simulation. While the value of the volume error and peak discharge error in the initial simulation is smaller than the calibrated value. The value of each parameter of the wave shape error, error and peak discharge volume error are 33.6176%, 8.6025%, and 5.8720% respectively at beginning of simulation in condition two and 0.0169%, 15.4120% and 28.7533% in the calibration process.  Keywords : hydrological modeling, flood analysis, satellite data, IFAS

Abstract

Many rules were did to overcome flood problem which one to use remote sensing in hydrological modeling with data-based satellite. This research conduct hydrological modeling using satellite data with Integrated Flood Analysis System (IFAS) version 1.3.0 for the analysis of the flood discharge at the sub-watershed Rokan Hulu at AWLR Lubuk Bendahara Station. Satellite data of hidrological modeling was the data in February 2012. The rainfall satellite data are used GSMaP_NRT original and corrected in the form of rainfall data hourly. The parameters used to assess the accuracy of the model is wave shape error (Ew), volume error (Ev), and peak discharge error (Ep). To get a percentage of a small error was did calibration parameters IFAS. The result of calibration Ew, Ev, and Ep are  9,58%, 17,28%, and Ep 10,81% for GSMaP_NRT original. The results of GSMaP_NRT corrected are 134,94%, 101,89%, and 18,37% .  Keywords : hydrological modeling, flood analysis, satellite data, IFAS, calibration

Abstract

IHACRES model is one of the well known rainfall-runoff model and have been successful in investigating the hydrology response of the various watersheds, espencially in indonesia. Previous research in the Rokan Sub-watershed, station AWLR Lubuk Bendahara, Riau Province. The results showed yhat the model IHACRES can be said is still not reliable enough or has not met since the value of R2 generated at simulation stage  at 0,341. It is necessary to further develop an approach using the combined model of wavelet transform – IHACRES with the aim to improve the performance rainfall-runoff model. The results showed that the best scheme in the calibration phase is scheme 1 (3 years calibration) a significant increase in overall input data is filtered in the form of rain data, climatology and streamflow using wavelet transform wherein R2 value of 0,369. While the results of statistical tests of coreelation coefficient (R) indicates that the Haar wavelet model of level 2 increased by 0,03 compared to the original data without filtering by value respectively 0,645 and 0,642. This value is considered a strong correlation. The results showed the use of wavelet transform – IHACRES proviede enhanced performance rainfall-runoff model.  Keyword : wavelet haar, wavelet transform, rainfall- runoff, IHACRES model

Abstract

Pile foundations are intended to hold both vertical and horizontal loads. Pile foundation design must take into account the lateral carrying capacity, especially on those that experience large lateral force. In fact, vertical load and horizontal load work simultaneously on the piles. Therefore it is necessary to look at the effect of the vertical load towards the carrying capacity the lateral piles. This study uses several models of pile foundation. The inclination of which the models are varied pile into three kinds, namely the inclination of 0° (upright pole), the inclination of 15o and 30o. While the vertical load is varied into four kinds, namely 0 kg load (no-load), 0,5 kg, 1 kg and 2 kg.The tests were done by inflicting horizontal loading on each variation of test models. Load test results are interpreted using the Tangent Intersection, Davisson method, the Chin method, and Mazurkiewicz method to get the ultimate lateral bearing capacity. The interpretation result of Tangent Intersection method showed the tendency to increase the carrying capacity of the lateral pile models as the vertical load increase. While the results of interpretation met of Chin method, generally showed the same trend. However, the interpretation of Davisson method and Mazurkiewicz methods did not indicate any trend of increasing the lateral carrying capacity with the increase of vertical load. The relationship between the carrying capacity and the inclination of the pile, from the interpretation of the data of load test results, did not indicate a trend of increasing the lateral carrying capacity of the pile models as the inclination of the piles increase.Keywords : pile foundation, model, lateral, vertical load
