Abstract

Cinema is one of alternatives for recreation, watching movies in cinema become a hobby and a lifestyle for some people. Therefore the necessity of cinema becomes important for citizen in Pekanbaru .The design of cinema in this paper is using “Asymmetrical Symmetry” concept, the display forms a balanced of asymmetries that transformed into the building. In term of cinema building design, post-modern architecture is seen as the most suitable and attractive for the building. In addition, not merely the appearance and the shaped, the cinema needs to pay attention on convenience of the users of the building. The final results of the application is implemented in the design of a cinema which includes zoning, mass form, outdoor layout, inner space, and the building's facade. In the mass formations, the concept transformed to building height difference and axis line which one divides the building mass. Abstract

Architecture Department Building of Riau University is building which functioned to accommodate architectural education activities. Because of the Architecture Department Building is under management of Engineering Faculty, the design of Architecture Department Building of Riau University need to be adapted with the design of other buildings in Engineering Faculty environment. To improve students comfortability in architectural creativity, organic architecture as the design approach blend the nature context into the design. Organic architecture is the architecture philosophy which present the harmony between building as the place for the people to do some activities with their environment around. Based on organic architecture principles of Frank Lloyd Wright that the nature is the main element of a design, then “organic from the trees” as the design concept gives the design solutions based on contextual issues and character of the trees as inspiration the mass concept. Contextual consideration produce the order mass, orientation of mass, landscape pattern and circulation within the site. While the mass concept inspired by the characteristics of the trees in the form of trunk, branches, twigs and branches produces a transparent foam of mass with pattern of open space and a porous mass with the facade and unique roof. The result of Architecture Department Building of Riau University design grow and develop from the existing condition of the site and harmony with the environment around of the building.Keyword: Architecture, Building, Contextual, Organic, Trees.

Abstract

Riau’s Malay is one of many malay cultures in Southeast Asia. On the sidelines of the history of the Malay, it created many kingdom. So much produce cultural heritage that should be preserved. But the longer cultural heritage of the Malay increasingly drowned out by the times are so rapidly. That why need to create regional Riau Malay Heritage Centre is in preserving cultural heritage. Not only as a means of conservation of cultural heritage, this area also serves as a place of cultural tourism and small-scale industries. So as to increase financial artisans and art workers. Its design concept is Cluster Heritage, which means the incorporation of cultural heritage. Riau Malay culture that spread in Riau province has a diverse cultural heritage, including language, art, way of life, social and even traditional houses. Malay cultural diversity this is combined into a single site design. Cluster is applied to site, while Heritage take 3 basic forms of Malay house, lontik house, lipat kajang house adn limas house which transformed to building design. The need for contemporary architecture in the design area in maintaining the existence of the Malay cultural heritage facility in order to be able to compete with the rapid development of the environment surrounding the region infrastructure. Abstract

Badminton is a popular sport in the world, especially East Asia and Southeast Asia. The game of badminton is a very common thing for Indonesian people, because in almost every region of Indonesia badminton game into sports interests of society. Riau Badminton Center is building a sports stadium badminton equipped with supporting facilities such as dormitories. Existence Riau Badminton Center is expected to accommodate young athletes, especially in the city of Pekanbaru so as to berbucara least the national arena. In designing this building, green architecture approach is used to address a variety of issues related to climate conditions that affect the site. Some Green Architecture principles applied in the design, such as: (1) The energy savings such as natural lighting; (2) Optimizing the use of natural energy such as the use of solar panels; (3) Percentage of green spaces; and (4) responsive to environmental conditions. The building will be designed with a green architectural approach that will make the building more to implementing environmentally friendly elements and response to climate. Riau sports facilities building Badminton Center uses the concept of Dynamic Transformation in its design. Abstract

Fashion school in Pekanbaru is a place of informal education in the field of fashion based Institute of Vocational Education. Fashion is a style that can be expressed through fashion products, so that the same thing happened to the art deco movement that produces an object related to one of the fashion products. Art deco architecture appears as a result of the global changes that produce the trend in expressing of shapes and a new spirit of expression. Base on that, then has decided "Streamline Dynamic" as be a concept of design. Design of fashion school used the characteristic of "streamline deco" approach based on the principle C.R Wolff Schomaker and A.F. Aalbers, who was brought to Indonesia due to environmental conditions and climate adjustment. The application concept of fashion school are on the zoning pattern, form of mass, landscape, fasade of building, and interior. The result of streamline chararacteristic approach on design of fashion school are: adjustment to the environment at zoning, orientation in the form of line hyrarchy in form of mass, the form adoption of the order of mass from the direction of orientation. The establishment of the landscape and interior are applying pattern of form a strict lines dynamic with bright colors. Abstract

Modification enthusiasts in Pekanbaru City car modification requires an integrated container. The Place with car garage complete the facilities and provide all automotive service information. In addition, Car Modification Center in Pekanbaru as modification services will have a positive impact modification enthusiasts. Car Modification Center in Pekanbaru expected to be a comfortable and attractive building, through the design of eco-architecture approach. Designing Car Modification Center in Pekanbaru using the paradigm of eco-architecture design principles through the logic of cultural and eco eco technic. The two logic is transformed and adopted into the region with a touch of eco-architecture design. The design method derived from the concept of modification. Results of these concepts derived from aspects of planning includes determining the theme of the design, analysis of the site and the environment, user analysis, analysis of the activities, program space needs, the pattern of the relationship between space, structural analysis, analysis of circulation, materials analysis and elaboration of the concepts in design Car Modification Center in Pekanbaru.Keyword: modification, eco Architecture, eco technic, eco cultural

Abstract

The traditional dance has preserved and developed in Pekanbaru. Dance as art in Pekanbaru is supported by students and artists, so that it can be developing until now. Dance studio in pekanbaru presented to gather the dance community and as a place for the artists to practice. Therefore, it needed a place that collected the art dance community and dance artist to practice in large numbers. Dance studio was facilitated to all dance activities. The concept of modern building that introduced and demonstrated the dance widely. Dance studio in pekanbaru used eco-architecture themes in design paradigm. The ecology architecture implemented in landscape, interior and building facade. Ecology architecture as approach in the design of the building was produced the concept of eco movement that meant movement & ecology. There were three ways to created room and motion pattern, the line, volume and level. Dance studio in pekanbaru has six mass of buildings which located near to each other, to access all of the buildings, users can be used the connecting bridge. The room at dance studio in pekanbaru had numerous openings luminance space to give the effect of natural lighting and natural atmosphere into the building. Abstract

Cinema square is a surrounding which has some activities inside the open area such as theatre and plaza. Cinema is included to someone’s choice to free from full activity. The unres tricted style of this cinema square is coherent to the design principlies of postmodern architecture. Postmodern architecture emerged as a liberation act of modern architecture. By using postmodern architecture as an approachment to design Cinema Square in Pekanbaru, therefore the concept of "Freedom of Exspression" is obtained. The concept is applied by using metaphor approachment in zoning pattern, arrangement of the mass, outdoor space planning, mass forms, and facades. The outcome of the concept applied on zoning patterns is centrally formed, with mass arrangement in accordance to its functional behaviour, hence outer area arrangement will go along with mass arrangement. On the mass shaping wich is based on this square pattern gives a curving result on every building shoupe wich surrounds the site centrally. Where as the application on the facade is square line that lies horizontally on every building, this is intended as a modern form that can’t be separated from postmodern.Keywords: Cinema Square, Freedom of Expression, Metaphor, Postmodern Architecture.

Abstract

The culinary world needs to be balanced with the preservation of the culinary Nusantara. It is necessary for harmony between the human environment and the natural environment or better known as organic architecture. The Unity of Nature concept applied to the building design and expected to realize an integrated spatial planning between different functions and activities. The concept was also implemented in mass and the shape of the pattern. Through organic architecture design method, the result was covered zone, mass order, exterior, mass formation, interior, and structure. Different functions separated in different zone, and the mass order used linear pattern that connected all three functions. Mass formation obtained from the formation adapted to the natural environment in the site. Abstract

Home Base PSPS is the center of facilities owned by PSPS. Home Base PSPS consists of home stadium equipped with various facilities such as, Museum, Cafe, Restaurant, Retail Stores, Kiosk, VIP & VVIP Lounge, the Media Broadcast, and the Press Conference. PSPS Home Stadium is venues that held the match in Indonesia League system. Home Base PSPS design is done with Postmodern Architecture approach and apply the concept of "Hybrid Expression of Rumah Melayu Riau". Application of the theme and concept of this method are integrating Hybrid Postmodern Architecture that combine Art and Science, Craft and Technology, as well as International and Local. The application of the concept for the shape of the building is transformed from the shape of the parts of Rumah Melayu Riau which Riau Culturalist, Alm. Tengku Nasaruddin Effendi described in poem; Yang Bertiang dan Bertangga transformed into concrete columns that have a similar shape with Melayu House; Berdinding penghambat angin dan tempias is transformed on the roof of the Home Stadium which protects 90% of the audience who were in the stands; Berselasar dan berpelatar applied to the skin which is located at the outer facade and not attached to the main building, serves as a barrier also shader for the space next to it; Berselasar dan berpelatar applied to the hall and the court are very broad in order; Bidainya tingkat bertingkat, kaki dan atap berombak-ombak visualized with skin facade structures that crossed and not rigid so that it looks like overlapping and wavy. Home Stadium with a capacity of 32.527 spectators at the Home Base PSPS is present as the appreciation of the people of Riau as the football improving progress in the Earth of Melayu.Key word: Home Base, Hybrid Expression of Rumah Melayu Riau, Postmodern Architecture
