Abstract

Antennas must adapt to a time when wearable and flexible forms are necessary. The microstrip antenna may need to be bent for this purpose, which may modify its properties or specifications. In this study, a stair-like 27-star ground plane patch is used to create a microstrip antenna that operates at 2.4 GHz. CST Studio Suite 2019 software was used for design and simulation, while a signal generator and spectrum analyzer were used for measurements. The simulation findings demonstrate that bendinggenerates yield gradation in the gain, directivity, and efficiency characteristics of the microstrip antenna. The measurement results demonstrate that gain, directivity, and efficiency may be varied. The smaller the bending radius the more bent the antenna become, therefore the antenna will work differently. Abstract

As a developing country, Indonesia strives to become a developed nation through economic transformation, including increasedproductivity in the plantation sector, particularly coffee. Coffee plays a crucial role in Indonesia's economy, significantlycontributing to non-oil exports. In 2022, Indonesia became the third-largest coffee producer in the world. However, domestic coffee production still falls short of meeting the growing demands for consumption and export. Coffee plant growth is influenced by factors such as water availability and tree shade. Adequate rainfall is essential for optimal growth, affecting the temperature and humidity, which in turn impacts coffee production. High temperatures can cause flower drop and reducing yield. This study addresses these conditions by designing a monitoring system capable of detecting temperature and humidity in coffee plantations. Utilizing wireless sensor network (WSN) technology, this system is developed to monitor large areas and display the results in spreadsheets. The system comprises a DHT22 sensor for measuring air temperature and humidity, a YL69 sensor for soil moisture, and a LoRa SX1278 for long-range communication. The results indicate that the designed system operates effectively, providing accurate data with an error rate of 4.81% for the YL69 sensor, 0.87% for the DHT22 temperature measurements, and 1.04% for humidity measurements. The LoRa communication system has a maximum range of 360 meters. Keywords: Coffee, Temperature and Humidity, LoRa, WSN

Abstract

The use of digital internet-based services has become a primary need, especially in academic environments such as campuses.Triple Play services, which include internet, IPTV, and VoIP, are increasingly used to support daily activities such as teaching, research, and administration. However, an increase in the number of users or traffic can pose a problem that potentially disrupts service quality. Therefore, this study was conducted to understand how the increase in traffic affects Quality of Service (QoS).The research methodology includes predicting incoming traffic, which involves estimating the number of users, calculating trafficintensity, and determining traffic volume over a day. Network quality testing involves calculating the power link budget. Service quality testing includes measuring throughput, packet loss, delay, and jitter using Ettercap and Wireshark software. The results of the study show that the daily traffic volume is 669,600 Mbit for internet services, 201,600 Mbit for IPTV services, and 787.2 Mbit for VoIP services. The traffic intensity over a day is 18.6 Mbps for internet services, 5.6 Mbps for IPTV, and 0.262 Mbps for VoIP, with peak traffic activity occurring at 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM. The calculated attenuation of 21.65 dB and receiver power of - 17.66 dBm indicate that the network can provide good service quality. An increase in traffic will lead to higher throughput, no packet loss, and a reduction in delay and jitter. High traffic can cause strain on the network capacity, particularly if the capacity is insufficient to handle the volume of traffic. Insufficient network capacity will result in decreased service quality, characterized by reduced throughput and increased packet loss, delay, and jitter. In such conditions, the services that experience significant quality degradation are VoIP and IPTV. Keywords: FTTH, Triple Play, Network Traffic, Quality of Service, Network Quality.

Abstract

Abstract

According to data from Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana, there have been 325 tornado and strong wind disasters throughout 2023. These disasters resulted in 1 death, 6 injuries, 734 people affected, and 80 people displaced. Additionally, 2,263 houses and 45 public facilities were damaged. Therefore, it is important to develop an early warning system to minimize the impact of these disasters. This study aims to design a system that can monitor wind speed and direction based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The wind speed and direction sensors were designed using hall effect sensors with a wind direction sensor resolution of up to 11.25°, a solar power system (PLTS) as the system's power supply, LoRa modules as communication modules, ESP8266 and ESP32 microcontrollers for data processing, Google Spreadsheet for data storage and display to users, and a buzzer to provide hazard warning statuses. The test results show that the wind speed sensor transmitter 1 has averageerror of 1,30%, and transmitter 2 has average error of 1,93%. The wind direction sensors for both transmitter 1 and 2 have a reading range of 10° at 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, and 315°, while other directions have a reading range of 5°. The effective range between the LoRa transmitter and receiver is less than or equal to 400 meters. The minimum internet data package required to run the device for one month is 1.89 GB. The data was successfully displayed through a website interface using the Google Spreadsheet platform, and the system successfully provided warning and alarm statuses when the wind speed exceeded the specified limit. Index Terms—Early Warning System, Internet of Things, Strong Wind.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a large population and is ranked 4th in the world. However, the population in Indonesia is not evenly distributed and is mostly concentrated on the island of Java. This has a big impact on the agricultural sector, namely the reduction in agricultural land. Mitigation and adaptation ef orts are very important in dealing with this phenomenon, such as ef icient management of water resources, diversification of crops that are more drought resistant, and implementation of innovative agricultural technology. An innovative solution to overcome quality and quantity in the agricultural sector is to implement a vertical farming system. The application of vertical farming does not use soil as a planting medium and provides nutrients, but uses water flowed by a pump. Vertical Farming uses LED lights as additional light to support plant photosynthesis at night. However, using LED lights and pumps in a vertical farming system will require quite a lot of electricity. So it is necessary to addsolar panels to meet electricity needs. In this research, solar panels are connected to a battery to store electrical power. This vertical farming system prototype has been realised and is working well. Test results show that this system can be applied much better and more widely. Keywords— LED, Vertical Farming, solar panel

Abstract

The significant growth of the fitness center industry in recent years reflects a change in lifestyle where people are increasingly concerned about health and fitness. Although modern fitness centers offer a variety of exercise programs and complete facilities, they face major challenges related to low service quality. The main issues include ineffective management, poor service, and inadequate security for members' valuables. Proposed solutions to address these problems include the development of a membership information service system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and WhatsApp chatbots. IoT technology allows real-time monitoring of visitor numbers, while RFID enhances locker security. WhatsApp chatbots provide real-time information about visitor density and membership status. Test results show that Google Spreadsheets can be used as an adequate alternative database, and the ESP32 microcontroller meets the system's functionality needs. The implementation of this technology is expected to automate several tasks in fitness centers, reduce the need for human resources, and improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Thus, fitness centers can make a positive contribution to public health.
