Abstract

This paper describes the performance ofreading or recognizing an image using the fisherface algorithm. Fisherface algorithm is a combination of two previous methods, namely Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) methods. Where Principal Component Analysis (PCA) will play a role in reducing the complexity of the interrelationships between a large number of observed variables into a relatively small number of linear combinations, which are referred to as principal components. LDA has almost the same function but with a different approach. Fisherface algorithm here plays a role to perform facial recognition or an image reading based on trained set that have been stored in a folder or directory of a database. This study aims to see how the performance of a fisherface in recognizing an image in several external conditions and how accurately the fisherface algorithm can distinguish several images features. Keywords: face recognition, biometrics, PCA, LDA, fisherface

Abstract

Continuous pasteurization system is a pasteurization system where the material goes to the pasteurization site and is pasteurized in a short time. Continuous pasteurization is widely used in industrial scale. In a continuous pasteurization system, a motor and pump system is needed to move milk from one process to another. One type of motor that can be used as a pump is a separate-excited DC motor. DC motors can provide large torque and are easy to control so that DC motors are often found in various applications such as pumps, conveyors, and others. In this study, a simulation will be carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK r2017a to determine the characteristics of the separately-excited DC motor when given a change in the duty cycle of the armature voltage to the rotor speed and the armature current when given load torque variation and nominal load torque. It was found that at zero load and nominal load torque, speed of the motor is directly proportional to the increase in the duty cycle of the armature voltage. Meanwhile, when the motor is given a nominal torque load so that it rotates at the nominal speed and then the load is increased until it reaches 5 times th

Abstract

Abstract

Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) is a marine tourism area that has ecotourism principles. As an ecotourism place, of course, the CMC area needs development in terms of facilities, one of which is the provision of environmentally friendly electricity with alternative energy through solar cells. The solar cell system is placed in a box called the solar home system. This solar home system includes a solar charge controller, automatic switch, and inverter which when operating will produce hot air so that it has a high temperature and can affect the performance of the devices contained in the solar home system itself. So we need a temperature monitoring system so that the temperature at the Solar Home remains stable. This system is designed using a DHT11 temperature sensor which is controlled by an ESP8266 microcontroller. This ESP8266 is connected to the internet network so that sensor reading data can be sent to users via the Blynk application and QoS parameter measurements are also carried out from the ESP8266 to the Blynk server to determine the quality of data transmission. The test of sending data from ESP8266 to the Blynk server monitored through the Wireshark application has a delay of 196 ms, jitter of 196 ms at 0% packet loss, throughput of 2.84 Mbps. The use of a data package for 1 month with a calculation of 1 month consisting of 30 days obtained 1.41 GB.Keywords: Clungup Mangrove Conservation, Solar Home System, Temperature, IoT

Abstract

In the Belanda feeder the Bukit Kapur sub feeder has a total channel length of 96,777 kms and PT. Harap Panjang has quite a lot of inductive loads, so the use of electrical energy consumed by PT. Harap Panjang on the Belanda feeder is getting bigger. So drop voltage and power losses often occur in the Belanda feeder the Bukit Kapur sub feeder. Therefore, improvements were made using a capacitor bank through the ETAP 16.0 software. The results of the first analysis showed that the drop voltage on the Belanda feeder the Bukit Kapur sub feeder was 11.58% and the power loss was 232.2 kW and 263.2 kVAR. The improvement of the drop voltage and power loss of the Bukit Kapur Belanda feeder was carried out by compensating for reactive power injection using 6 units of capacitor banks with different capacities through OCP (Optimal Capacitor Placement) analysis. The result of improving the drop voltage and power losss on the Belanda feeder, the Bukit Kapur sub feeder after being given a capacitor bank, decreased to 4.37% and the power loss decreased to 176.7 kW and 190.7 kVAR.Keywords: Drop voltage, power loss, capacitor bank, Optimal Capacitor Placement (OCP)

Abstract

Aerator is a machine that produces air bubbles that functions to move water in the pond so that the water is rich in dissolved oxygen which is needed by all freshwater fish. The working principle of this tool is to make the surface of the water as much as possible in contact with the air. The goal is that the oxygen content in the water is sufficient and gases and impurities that usually cause rot can be expelled from the water. These air bubbles are very important for fish because these bubbles act as oxygen for fish. This oxygen level is commonly called DO (dissolved oxygen). Many ornamental fish entrepreneurs, especially koi, underestimate the level of dissolved oxygen in water (the use of aerators) both in terms of power consumption, which is not regulated or does not provide a tool in the form of an aerator. For this reason, this research makes aerator speed settings according to the needs of the fish and also saves costs because it does not have to be turned on every time. Keywords: Aerator, koi fish farming, DO, dissolved oxygen in water

Abstract

The identification method can be done by observing a physical system that will provide input and output signals. The input and output signals generated by the system will be calculated with the identification method's algorithm to produce filter parameters that can represent the system. The algorithm used in this thesis is Recursive Least Square (RLS). The components contained in the temperature and humidity plant system, namely the Digital Temperature and Humidity sensor (DHT22), a 25 Watt incandescent lamp, and a 24 Volt mist maker. The structure of the model used in this thesis is the Auto Regressive Moving Average Exogenous (ARMAX). The order used in this thesis is second-order according to the residual analysis, indicating that the second-order graph is between the dotted line and close to the zero axis point. The parameter results obtained at the plant temperature are a1 = -1.331; a2 = - 0.3402; b1 = 0.1775; b2 = –0,1682; c1 = –0.5658; c2 = –0,2031. In plant humidity is a1 = -0.9459; a2 = -0.043202; b1 = 0.008937; b2 = 0.002168; c1 = 0.05638; c2 = 0.03856. Akaike's FPE validation results on the temperature and humidity plant model are 0.009251 and 0.1663, respectively. The accuracy test results with the setpoint signal at the plant temperature and humidity were FIT = 95.43%, respectively; FIT = 93.86%.Keywords: Temperature and Humidity Plant, System Identification, ARMAX, RLS

Abstract

Solar Energy System is a renewable energy that convert sun irradiation into electrical energy through photovoltaic cell. Solar Energy System is divided into 2 types, on-grid system and offgrid system. On-grid solar energy is a system which connected to the grid. Energy Management System (EMS) is implemented in the attempt to maximize the reduction of cost for electricity. EMS implemented is by transmitting electrical energy from battery at peak load time. Solar energy with this EMS (scheme 1) will be compared with solar energy when; all energy produced by solar cell is transmitted to user load (scheme 2), all energy produced by solar cell will be exported to the grid (scheme 3), and energy produced will goes to load, if there is excess energy, it will be imported to the grid (scheme 4). The efficiency difference caused by battery don’t drastically effect the economical factor because the efficiency difference is 0,63%. Scheme 1has the highest investment cost, net profit, and COE, but since its investment cost and maintenance cost is high, scheme 1 is not worth to implement. Based on NPV, scheme 1 is the only scheme that is worth to i
