Abstract

PT FSCM Manufacturing Indonesia merupakan produsen suku cadang kendaraan yang saat ini memiliki masalah keterlambatan bahan baku. Masalah keterlambatan bahan baku ini disebabkan oleh faktor sistem pembelian perusahaan yang belum memiliki standar dan faktor supplier yang tidak mampu memenuhi kesepakatan jadwal kedatangan barang. Masalah keterlambatan dianalisa melalui data masa lalu untuk mengetahui usulan perbaikan yang dapat diberikan. Usulan perbaikan sistem pembelian yang diberikan yaitu melakukan revisi Standard Operation Procedure dan revisi lead time pembelian, membuat Work Instruction, dan pemilihan supplier yang tepat.

Abstract

Customer who receive defect products can file customer complaint. Rejection customer complaint affect the company the most because it involves product returns. Customer will send defect product to be sorted by PT. X and sent back to customer, which incurring transportation cost, sorting cost, material cost, etc. Customer complaint rate is one of PT. X Quality Department’s target for Key Performance Indicator which must be fulfilled every year. Customer complaint rate must be reduced by 15% of last year’s customer complaint rate. Bottle from EBM Department contributes to 30.8% of customer complaint happened in 2017 and 2018. Root cause of bottle customer complaint will be found using 5 Whys to achieve Quality Department’s KPI goal in 2019. Root cause consist of there is no Work Instruction for selection method, there is no schedule to review Defect Range Board, briefing rarely done to selector and selector lack of training. Suggestions given are selection method based on Work Instruction, schedule for Defect Range Board review, schedule for briefing to selector, training for inspector, jig utilization for all bottle and automated machine to detect defect on dimension. Suggestions implementation will potentially reduce 50% of customer complaint.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that manufactures consumer goods in Indonesia. This thesis focused on what the possibilities could happen afthe consolidation concept applied in current outdoor media system in PT. X. consolidation is a way that already applied in most of big company to minimize information activity between the company and third party or supplier(s). PT. X stiil using conventional way to handle all the outdoor media used. There’s 189 supplier that PT. X managed regularly by contacted each supplier. This method cause various problem such as longer communication chain and miscommunication. The number of supplier that PT. X use also reduced by 2015 to 2017. Reduced percentage between those years’ 39% and this affect the number of spot used by PT. X. Number of spot PT. X use also reduced by 35% from 2015 to 2017. After seeing this problem the improvement that we can proposed is consolidation process inside PT. X. Consolidation will use centralized information principle. The result from this thesis is consolidation concept that soon apply to PT. X outdoor media system.

Abstract

PT. E-T-A Indonesia is a company which involves in circuit breaker industry. The process of production results in waste which categorized as dangerous and toxic waste (B3) and only saved by the company in few months. Currently, the company only own Temporary storage facilities for B3 waste which is not in accordance with Government policy which stated in PP. Thus there is a need for the company to plan the development of B3 waste storage facilities. The development of B3 waste storage facilities starts with planning the process of storing B3 waste, the process in handling contingency situation, and the designing process to develop the temporary storage facilities for B3 waste. Document which added is logbook and checklist to help the process of storing B3 waste. The results of this improvement will allows PT. E-T-A Indonesia to get the permission to store B3 waste from the government. Other positive effect by applying this improvement is to improve the safety and health condition of employees working around B3 waste storage facilities.

Abstract

X, Ltd is a company engaged in the field of packaging printing. The company has a main engine in the form of offset machines used to print the packaging so it needs a continuous process in order to meet customer demand. Offset machines experience downtime of 51% based on past data of companies that want to be reduced. The cause of machine downtime is setup during changeover and preventive maintenance process. Research was conducted to reduce downtime of offset machine by DMAIC method. How to reduce changeover time by using Single Minute Exchange Dies (SMED) tools. The data were collected on both workgroups and proposed improvements based on cause and effect diagrams on human factors, machines and methods, and scheduling setup. Suggested scheduling schedules with internal and external activity sharing, where internal activity is performed when the machine stops and externally is performed while the machine is running. Improvements made to reduce machine downtime with an average of 25.39%.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company which is engaged in the field of frozen shrimp exporters that produce shrimp sushi, shrimp tempura, and shrimp peeled. The problem that occurs is often failure to achieve the production target in the process of shrimp sorting. The factors that cause the failure of production target’s achieving are production target which is too high and the workers who are slow in the process of sorting. Based on these problems, in this research is undertaken the improvement of production target and the improvement of the movements of the left hand and right hand of workers in doing the sorting. The research concludes that the production target need to be lowered and is undertaken the improvement of the left hand and right hand of workers so that the production target will be achieved and the efficiency reaches 8,81%.

Abstract

The sustainability of a company is influenced by the quality of human resources owned by the company. Quality of human resources owned by a company is influenced by development programs carried out by the company, such as training. Designing a suitable training module is the key to a successful training. The design of training modules for waste reduction at PT. X is done by using work instructions as a reference and field observations to validate the work instructions. The training module is used as a basis for employee training. Testing the result of the training is done by monitoring the level of waste produced in normal working conditions during on job training period. The training module has been proven to be an effective training material, as evidenced by the reduction in the level of waste that reaches target set by the company. Furthermore, the implementation of the training program can be continued for productivity increase or as an example for other departments.

Abstract

PT X has three production plant, which one of them is Sensor plant. This thesis is made for renew the material grouping in procurement strategy in Sensor plant of PT X. This renewal purposed to make an adjustment to current condition. Optiflow strategy is one of PT X’s procurement strategy category that used to decrease the value of the inventory. Optiflow strategy that used in PT X are consignment, VMI, and the combination from both. The largest inventory value come from the material which use non-optiflow strategy in current condition. Implementation of this new design will focus on current non-optiflow material category. Estimated impact from the renewal is the decrease of inventory value till 45,5%.

Abstract

PT.X is a company that produces sandals and upper shoes located in Surabaya. This company has a high defect rate sandal production, which is 9.9%. The purpose of this research is to reduce the number of the defect sandal production in PT.X using the DMAIC steps. The 5 Why’s tool is used to analyze every cause of the defects. The result shows 5 of the biggest defects type in the company, which are the patchy glue, non-standard upper pull, unclean products, problem with the variations, and broken insole. The efforts used to reduce the defects is done by giving a pile of material to get additional pressure on the gluing process with a roll machine, changing the method and a tool to rub the primary liquid, checking the cleanliness of the glue cloth, giving gloves to the upper operator, change the bending method of upper flip in the gluing process, cleaning the roll machine when dirty, pressing the installing variations, replacing the tool for putting upper into the insole. Control steps is carried out by giving work instructions on the gluing process with a roll machine, the process of applying the primary liquid, the upper pulling process, installing variations, and putting the upper into the insole.

Abstract

Toko Rahayu is a small business engaged in the field of beauty products. The problem at Toko Rahayu is overstocking products,  causing the products to accumulate in the warehouse. There are so many product stocked that a product with an expiration date in 2019 can be found. Product categorization based on ABC classification show that the total income for Class A is Rp 2.092.175.000,00 (80,43%), Class B is Rp 232.822.250,00 (9%) and Class C is Rp 275.119.640,00 (10,57%). Proposed inventory control is carried out using the periodic review method and continuous review method, as well as the policies established by the store. Simulations that have been carried out for 10 brands from July – September show that the implementation of the periodic review method has the least inventory costs. This is indicated by the comparison of inventory costs between the proposed method and the method used by the store. The proposed method results in an inventory cost savings of Rp 378.774,84 for three months (July - September 2019) which is a cost savings of 6,54% compared to the initial inventory costs.
