Abstract

PT. SMART, Tbk is a company that produces palm oil. PT. SMART, Tbk has a finished goods warehouse, where the warehouse stores goods that have been purchased for distribution to consumers. In managing these products a good system in needed. The warehouse currently has a WMS (Warehouse Management System) system for warehousing in and out of the warehouse. In the context of ongoing improvement, the warehouse wants to increase the level of the SMART Site Classification which previously the warehouse gets one star from three stars. It is necessary to do in advance the SMART Site Classification to determine the initial conditions of the warehouse. The results of the initial review, which are used as a reference to make improvements, before making repairs must determine the priority scale value compared to daily warehouse operations. After improvement efforts were made, the point of the SMART Site Classification Level of PT. SMART increased from 74 points to 80 points.

Abstract

The Batam Locistics Platform (BLP) plant is a plant owned by PT. X.  PT. X itself is a company engaged in the assembly of electronic equipment which is one branch of a company from France. The BLP plant is a warehouse that has the role to handle all logistics activities of the production plant at PT. X. The BLP plant has a target to increase productivity by reducing lead time on picking and put away. The put away section has the task of laying down the material that has been received. The picking department has the duty to take material that is ordered by the production plant. The problem that causes high lead time on the picking and put away parts is that the material is spread over too wide limits. The opportunity for improvement that results from observations is to place a booking in accordance with the Supply Chain Management forecast for each material in the BLP plant. Improvements made can reduce the lead time of the picking part by 45% and the lead time of the put away part by 15.47%

Abstract

Performance measurement is important for a company to assess the achievement of targets from its departments. Research was done at an international furniture company. The company is currently measuring work performance using quality target that have been set by management. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) uses quality objectives and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as the basis for measurement. The BSC design is carried out not only measures the financial aspects, but also non financial aspects. The BSC design is carried out in five departments, namely Quality Assurance (QA), Human Resource Development (HRD), production P1, logistics, and purchasing department. The result of design is the strategy map and the causal relationship between quality objectives. The causal relationship between quality objectives shows the quality objectives with the longest chain and the quality objectives which is the final goal. Analysis is carried out on the result of monitoring of quality targets with the longest chain so that problems are identified and can provide proposed solutions.

Abstract

PT.X is a company that processes various types of wood in accordance with customer orders. The company has problems in the production process that quite often cause problems with delays in order fulfillment. The research was conducted by mapping the production process in woodworking and cutting which is the earliest process of the whole process. Mapping in woodworking and cutting process is done by using value stream mapping method, by designing current stae value stream mapping and future state value stream mapping. The research will focus on non-value added activities with the aim of suppressing non-value added contained in the woodworking and cutting processes. The results of data analysis showed that the cause of non-value added time is in the process of stick and shape grading. The proposal is designed based on a 5-whys analysis to find the root cause of the stick process and shape grading. In the future state value stream mapping shows that by implementing the proposal can improve the efficiency of production time and lead time. The percentage of production time efficiency between the current condition and the proposal is 4.83% while the lead time is 35.99%.

Abstract

PT.X is one of the largest agri-food companies in Indonesia. In its development, PT. X carries out animal feed production, maintenance, and poultry processing activities. PT. X has several departments, one of them is repacking department. Repacking department is a department in charge of packaging the animal feed products. However, there are some problems for data input process in repacking department. The data processing is still not integrated, structured, and also causing some waste. The waste that occurs include waste of time, cost, and energy. Seeing this problem, it is necessary to make an integrated and structured data summary so it can be used to analyzing the problems.In its stage, the process of compilling the data will be assisted by the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. The analysis process will be carried out with three main factors, namely availability factors, performance efficiency, and rate of quality product. Each factor value calculation in the data overview will be displayed in the form of data visualization to help users for drawing conclusions. The result of the data overview can help the companies to understand the condition in the field and also help users to follow-up on problems that occurs in repacking department.

Abstract

PT X is a shipping and logistic company that has been operating since 1970 in Surabaya City. One of the divisions in PT X is Division Y. The problem of Division Y is the workload imbalance between employees in one department. This research aims to measure the employee workload condition and provide suggestions to improve the workload balance among employees. This research uses the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method, where the employee’s total workload will be compared to the total effective working time available. The results of measuring the six department workload of Division Y show that 25,7% of employees is underload, 62,8% of employees have a normal workload, and 11,4% of employees is overload. The workload improvements that carried out are proposing additional job to the underload employees, shifting job between employees, and updating the information system program. These improvements were able to improve the employee workload balance to 11% of underload employees, 86% of normal load employees, and 3% of overload employees.

Abstract

Premix Plant is a plant in PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk which produces premix for animal feed ingredient. Premix’s demand increases approximately 12% a year. Hence, premix plant must prepare the solution to meet their demand. In 2020, premix plant production capacity is not sufficient enough for their demand. Thus, preparation like overtime and adding new shifts are considered for escalating production capacity. On the other hand, there are costs for overtime and adding new shifts. Therefore, aggregate planning is used for deterring overtime hours and when to add new shifts. Aggregate planning concept will be implemented in open solver and ProModel to ease the calculation. The calculation result shows overtime is used until the end of 2020 and new shifts are added in early 2021. This new shift will cause overproduction due to the increase of capacity. Therefore, premix will not be produced in full for a day. The rest of the time will be used to weigh feed additive. That solution will cost nearly Rp 11,152,462,807.50 per five years.

Abstract

X company produces furniture products and is included in a large furniture company in Indonesia. The production system adopted is a “make by order” system targeting importer buyers (distribution/overseas large stores). The performance  in the packing area for 3 months (January-March) has never reached the expected target and the defect rate is 11%. The research was conducted to help improve performance by looking for suggestions that reduce the defect rate in the packing area by analyzing the highest type of defect (chipping). The cause analysis was traced using the Five Whys Diagram methods, and it was found that there were problems in the work environment and work methods that can still be developed. Improvements were implemented in the form of creating and training work standards regarding treatment actions for products and material handling. The implementation of the proposal has succeeded in reducing the defect rate from 11% to 9.72%.

Abstract

The construction industry has become one of the contributors to Indonesia's economic growth. A company has to hold on to the company's vision and mission and prioritize service for the customer. Therefore, the company needs to evaluate the performance of each department to give its best services to its customers. So far, the evaluations were done manually and without visualization. This work is answering the company needs, that is, designing a visualization dashboard that facilitates the evaluation of decision-making related to the achievement of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The dashboard is designed for evaluating the implementation of work contracts and project deadlines, and monitoring the achievement of KPIs in the Finance/Accounting and Project department. It was designed using Power BI, a business intelligence software for constructing a powerful dashboard visualization.  At the end of this work, the designed dashboard is able to simplify the evaluation of the decision-making process regarding each department's KPIs achievement.
