Abstract

Dogs are animal that have a very close relationship with human. Their loyalty and devotion is very similar with human concept about love and friendship. That’s why a lot of people make dogs their bestfriends or even treat them like their own family member. Interior design of “Rumah Anjing” is a design that can fullfill and satisfy the needs of all dog lovers, especially in Surabaya. The facilities that are provided are pet shop, grooming and salon area, clinic area, dog training area, dog day care area, and cafe. By using a design concept that can “pamper” so as to facilitate all visitor’s activities, providing a cozy and warm atmosphere using a natural materials such as wood, stone, and greenery accent in the room. In this design, we use collecting data method such as literature study, observation and survey. Interior design of “Rumah Anjing” is believed to fulfill the necessary requirements of dog lovers, as well as providing a new and exciting atmosphere and experience for people in Surabaya.

Abstract

Tunjungan Plaza is one of the largest and most famous malls in Surabaya and even in Southeast Asia, this mall is demanded by the people of Surabaya due to the completeness of products and services offered, The salon is one of the examples of services at Tunjungan Plaza Mall that is highly demanded by the public due to it’s popularity and quality. For example, May May Salon that I used as the site of my design project, the most popular activity in this salon is haircut and nail art, but the amount of facilities for both activities are not the same, so that it can’t improve the services of this salon, therefore it needs a flexible furniture that can comply needs in one furniture, it can also be used as a new innovation.

Abstract

Abundant availability of rattan raw materials in the country results to the production of rattan products waste in the form of rattan powder. The rattan powder waste is made into a rattan powder board to perform material efficiency as an act of environmental care. As rattan powder was only used as a fuel on heating rattan, a test needs to be done in advance to find out the final product result and the target market. The design method used includes observation, programming, design concept, experiment, design schematic, final design, prototype, and business plan. The processing of rattan waste into rattan powder board is applied into decorative interior accessories. The rattan powder waste processed in an industrial way using press machine to create a rattan powder board with a natural final look. The advantages of interior accessories design made from rattan powder board is that it could improve the image and leads to a higher selling value.

Abstract

Fashion and accessories is the type of industry which is a prime mover in the development of national creative industrywith various diversity type. It’s shown with various types of exhibition eventes such as bazaar market.Therefore needed booth which accommodate the function of the display and the module settings for any products and practical system that can provide easy installation and mobilization module setings. The design method using the methods of David Kelley with the following stages discovery, interpretation, ideation, experimentation, dan evolution. Compact design booth is an innovation display system for interior of exhibition space. The advantages of this design is a flexible display system with various conditions on the showroom as product type, the size of the stand and the diversity of the settings for the display module forms. In addition to the use of colors and finishes can be customized with the branding companies so that they can show and supports up a brand.

Abstract

The design on this coffee gallery came from the unawareness of Indonesian people based on Indonesian coffee facts, In which case Indonesia is one of the biggest coffee producers beside Brazil and Columbia. Coffee has a big potential to grow in Indonesia, but this potential cannot be maximized (due to) unawareness of Indonesian people on the quality of Indonesian coffee, In fact, Indonesian coffee has a good quality , therefore Indonesian people need a mediation to learn more about the fact of Indonesian coffee and its quality.                With a proper mediation, Indonesian people will more interest with the local coffee product than the import products, and Indonesian people also can appreciate it better, thus the image of Indonesian coffee can be leveraged and be at top of their mind compared to the imported coffee products, also the Indonesian people will realize the high potential of Indonesian coffee that will bring a positive impact to the Indonesian economic condition.

Abstract

Dormitory, or sometimes called hostel is some kind of temporary living space which is intended for a group of people, that commonly consists of schoolboys/girls and university students. The dorm room has a limited space and is unable to accommodate their activities, especially design students with their tasks. The complexity of the student's activity has to be accommodated in the dorm room which is their private space. Therefore, a multi-functional furniture design with a compact and flexible nature is needed to solve the user's problem.This design can be fulfilled with holding surveys and collecting literature data about dormitory, multi-functional furniture, and student activities as the user. The goal of this design is to study and understand that the student's complex activities can be accommodated by a single multi-functional furniture.

Abstract

The identity of Samarinda society can be understood by its history and culture. However, there is not any public space to preserve this heritage. Indeed, there is a mini-museum named Galeri Samarinda Bahari, but the gallery is not representative because it has small space. Therefore, the interior design of Samarinda city museum with conservative, informative, educative, recreational, innovative and interactive approach is necessary. The design method includes assimilation and general study. Assimilation stage consists of discovery and point of view. General study stage includes planning, analyzing and problem-solving. The conservative values are presented through the design that takes on the characteristic of Jepen Tepian Olah Bebaya traditional dance. The informative and educative values are presented through the information distribution about museum collection which is grouped based on the historical chronological order of Samarinda City. “Exploring Local History Experiences” concept was expected to make visitors can explore, enjoy, and learn about history in eight zones with a different atmosphere. Meanwhile, recreative, innovative, and interactive values are presented through self-service activities showroom supported by the latest technology. By achieving these values, Museum of Samarinda City is expected to preserve the local history and culture. In addition, Samarinda can be a new tourist destination that worth to visit and recognized by the public.

Abstract

The scheme of indoor modular meuble as material support for pop-up market. Designer chose this topic because of the fact that pop-up market grow quickly nowadays to give online shop’s tenant a place where they can sell their product for real, consument can look the quality’s product directly, and initial capital of real shop is more expensive, so writer make design that answer the needs. A design that can be apart and be brought easily. The concepts are modular, futuristic, meuble. A meuble that give positive value to some related parties. Concept’s applications found in shape, color, and construction’s system. The purposes of this meuble-making are to know the user’s activities and give answers to the needs, best materials’ choice, good display-construction system, and making interesting booth display innovation. The data collection methods with do some observations and interviews. After that, designer starts to analyze the information and start to make the design from schematic until fix design transformation, which will be prototyped in 1:1 scale. Abstract

MotoGP is a sport that uses motor vehicles with high speed to race to be able to get past the finish line first. This design aims to provide facilities for the community, especially the lovers of motogp in Surabaya, This design concept is futuristic design to support the objects on display so it does not look out of date. This design also provides facilities to increase community insight such as information about MotoGP legends, there is also a hall to carry out various activities related to motorsport, there is also a retail store that sells various MotoGP tributes and cafes so that visitors can relax for a moment After touring at this legends MotoGP museum.

Abstract

This research is conducted to discover visitors’ visual perception on applied theme of every zone in Museum Angkut. Museum Angkut has many zones, but the ones that will be researched are Batavia and Pecinan zone, Gangster Town and Broadway Street zone, Italy zone, Paris zone, Germany zone, London Street zone, Buckingham Palace zone, Las Vegas zone, and Hollywood zone. The method applied in this research is inductive qualitative with descriptive approach supported by in-depth interview data gathering technique, by using purposive sampling technique with 10 correspondents that were divided into two groups: five correspondents who have no interior design academic background and another five who have interior design academic background. The result found that visual perception caught by correspondents who have no interior design academic background is different from those who have interior design academic background in terms of shape and space variables. The research discovered that visitors could recognize the applied theme more through shape variable. Correspondents recognized shape variables based on symbols, writings, and transportations’ display, while space variables were acknowledged through circulation and theme’s relevance.
