Abstract

Malang is one of the places nostalgia tourists by Dutchman. Design boutique hotel take building's dutch colonial. Boutique hotel having the characteristics of unique, historic, and fancy. Uniqueness boutique hotel ditonjolkan in the atmosphere hotel that looks homey with support 3star class hotel facilities. The concept of the basis of design with apply a style of design colonial into the interior of boutique hotel good with the material the wall, the floor, ceiling, column and the elements decorative space. A method of design adopt new material who adapts the shape and character a style of design dutch colonial of a building the architecture was namely the dutch colonial style.

Abstract

Man is a curious creature, every age is increasingly thirsty to explore what nature has. Of all the discoveries of humanity that ever existed the most interesting and great mystery is space and space, this invention was initiated by the father of modern astronomy Galileo Galilei (1564-1642).At first humans recognize the astrology system and use it as a navigation tool / direction but now humans have understood the space is much better and utilize the knowledge that can be to create everyday technology that can improve the quality of human life. The science of outer space is no less important than any other science because we live in an age where humans have realized that there is more beyond our planet earth but, in Surabaya and also the general knowledge of society in Surabaya about space is very less because of lack of Facilities that can satisfy the public's curiosity.

Abstract

Budget hotel is a kind of hotel favored by people as place to stay temporarily with affordable cost. The low cost at budget hotel causes the lack of attention on the lighting system, especially the main product of a hotel, that is the bedroom. This research aims to analyze and to provide solution to an optimum lighting design on budget hotel in Surabaya, that is Hotel 88 and Hotel Bekizaar. Optimization is done by using the software DIALux 4.10. Analysis result shows that all lighting conditionsin both hotel has not met SNI standard, therefore it needs some customizations to optimize the lighting level by altering the type, position, quantity, and color of the artificial lighting.

Abstract

Hospital is one of essential aspects in the scope of people’s health. Hospital design often makes patient feeling anxiety and uncomfortable because of the hospital’s atmosphere that seems gripping and creepy. The atmosphere of hospital design impacts patient’s psychology and their physical condition. Basically, human has a tendency to stay in touch with nature that could affects their psychology and physical condition positively which is called as biophilia. This led to the use of design approach called biophilic design. Biophilic design has 14 patterns that can be used to create designs that is related with nature. The application of biophilic design in the hospitals is believed to create a healing environment. However, to apply biophilic design to hospitals, we should consider the requirements that must be met for hospital building so as not to risk the patient aand not to support the disease spreading process in the hospital. This study was conducted with the aim to describe what kind of biophilic design pattern that can be applied in hospital interior. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive. The data analysis process resulted in 2 out of 14 biophilic design patterns are not applicable to hospital interiors they are Mystery, Risk & Peril.  12 patterns that can be applied are Visual connection with nature, Non-visual connection with nature, Non-rhytmic stimuli, Thermal and airflow variability, Dynamic and diffuse lighting, Connection with natural system, Biomorphic forms and patterns, Complexity and Order, Prospect and Refuge.

Abstract

“Fashion Store Local Brand” in Banjarmasin is opened to fasilitate the increasing interest of local brand by adopting the local culture into deign. The design is referring to Banjarmasin‟s local culture, the character of Puteri Junjung Buih as a leader as Banjar‟s Kingdom. With the middle-up target market, “fashion store local brand” is designed modern and luxurious. The interior elements represent the character of Putri Junjung Buih, using „Sasirangan‟ fabrication which is Putri Junjung Buih‟s individual clothing style. The design theme “Magnificent Queen” is applicated using post-modern dramatic style. It fits to give luxurious look to the fashion store.

Abstract

High market interest of the creative industry can be seen from the frequent exhibitions or events held, one of is in Surabaya. The fashion sub-sector (clothing - footwear products) has a fairly dominant market interest in this creative industry. A brief and non-binding exhibition is a media channel that is often chosen by business owners to offer their products and services.Time limitations result in tenants paying little attention to the way the product arrangements they offer. Design a booth with a good arrangement without realizing it can attract the attention of visitors by itself.FuNC Booth is one of the innovative display systems in the interior of showrooms intended to facilitate business owners in setting up and dismantling the booth they use. The incorporation of compact, modular, knockdown and tensioned systems provides convenience in various aspects including unloading and mobilization. This design method adapted from John Nash has the following stages; Discovery, interpretation, ideation, experimentation and evolution.

Abstract

The design of Cafe-Library and Resto is one of the new breakthrough in creating a new ambience in a library and giving it a unique atmosphere and can attract people’s interests. Besides, development of the culinary world has expanded rapidly, whereas people often spend their time to visit a restaurant or café to relax or to do something. Usually, restaurant and café business find it hard to decide the loyalty of a customer, because the customer always want to try and enjoy a new menu and ambience as well. Only a few people who are truly loyal to a restaurant or café. Which brings us to the development of restaurants in indonesia that are focussing to the young customer’s segmentation that always want to try new things and making them not only just a satisfy the hunger, but also a place to gather with friends and families. By creating a new ambience such as the Cafe-Library and Resto design, the customers can enjoy a restaurant-class dish and also read or look for some information at the mini library. Supported by a commercial interior design, it is expected from this design to increase people’s interest to visit this place. So, this Cafe-Library and Resto design can accommodate people’s activities and is compatible with those standards of comfort, safety, and also customer’s need and fullfill its purpose.

Abstract

The problem of homeless and beggars in urban cities are an uneven social welfare problem between village’s growth and urban growth resulting in social gap that leads to urbanization. The displacement of villagers to the city is not followed by adequate human resource that is resulting, in increasing of urban poverty.                The education place is designed as temporary shelter as well as providing training for a certain period of time and can be their provision for viable livelihood. The concept used is "Local Culture Puzzle" using the local cultural approach and expected to completed a puzzle after finished education in this place. This concept is applied through the design variations.

Abstract

Surabaya is known as a city with its residents who have various activities and focus on pursuing their career. As we enter the women’s emancipation era, now women also give their contribution by doing some of the works that men usually do. Many parents tend to forget the importance of a family; meanwhile, the role of parents is very significant for the child development. Third parties, such as child care has acted as parents’ destinations everyday as they put more focus on their jobs. Intergenerational Activity Center will provide solutions towards the problems stated above. This facility will act as a bridge between the needs of parents and their children which at the same time will enable the parents to take care of their children and do their jobs. The design method includes 7 stages, which are Define, Research, Ideate, Prototype, Select, Implement, and Learn. The result will be a complete facility for family with Family Park concept which offers fun, relaxing, and comfortable atmosphere for both the parents and their children. It will provide the core areas which are needed by most parents, such as working and reading spaces, canteen or restaurant, as well as sport facilities. Moreover, this facility offers educational entertainment for children since they will be able to enjoy the toys and games which emphasizing on educational purposes.

Abstract

Kotabaru is one of the South Kalimantan districts, which has abundant natural resources and amazing nautical tourism. The existence of the potential possessed by Kotabaru is not followed by a facility that facilitate local culinary and souvenirs shop. Based on that fact, this design is created to facilitate a commercial place for Banjar’slocal culinary and souvenirs for tourists and people of Kotabaru. In creating the design of the interior, required a place that able to: present Banjar’s local culinary and souvenirs, which raised locality of Kotabaru’s value, have an educational value as a means of recognition and cultural preservation, also containing an entertainment value that makes visitors relax, comfort, and enjoying himself pampered by the ambience created by the design. Bylifting the local values of South Kalimantan, the designer hopes that it will help cultural preservation in Indonesia. The concept of Impression of the Culinary Tradition applied in order to give an experience and impressionfor visitors while tasting the foods as well as information provided, completed with the atmosphere of nature that contain elements of the Banjar’s local culture. The concept that deals with locality does not make a design stylized traditionally but it will be combined with modern style with deployment of technology and materials. The implementation of the concept on the design can be seen from the combination of geometrical shapes and forms taken from the concept of Banjar’s traditional house. The colors of the design are using typical colors that portray Banjar’s culture and some distinctive ornaments are applied on furniture and interior’s elements. Technology also applied to support educational problems. It will contain entertainment in order to give impressions for the users. Food Culinary and gift shop, named “KotabaruBungas”, is expected to be the pride of the community and become the identity of Kotabaru city. This place is also showing the beauty of diversity in culinary and cultural richness, so that it will be more famous in tourists and public’s destination
