Abstract

Chocolate is one kind of souvenir, which is often picked by tourists when they are travelling. Indonesia is the world’s third largest cocoa producer country. “Chocolate Monggo” is an authentic Indonesian chocolate products with the use of 100% Indonesian cocoa. Besides the used of Indonesian cocoa, “Chocolate Monggo” also employs Indonesian as their workers. This shows that “Chocolate Monggo” should be developed more. The method used for this design is problem solving method. The results of the design are showroom, café, and the production site. Showroom as a place to sell the chocolate products in packaging and souvenirs, café as a dining area for customers or visitors to enjoy small dish with a relaxed atmosphere, production site as a place to make the products. The production site can be seen by the customers or visitors, so it has the added value of education in addition to recreational facilities. The concept used is harmony which is the result of the merging of ideas derived from the meaning of the brand’s name, “Monggo”, brand’s vision, and the city where it was born.

Abstract

Performing arts is one of art that people want to know include Surabaya citizen. Several communities performing arts in Surabaya have formed that they fans performing arts which has had several branches, gather and exchange ideas without a lack of space. Interior design of performing arts aims to give facilities space that fans art particulary performing arts have a roof to appreciating and show their art on society. Either in exhibition, performances, and share the advantages and their knowledge people who wants to decide to join in the art community. The performance art building is not limited. Everyone can enjoy this facility from child to elderly. In fact all kinds of the culture can be appreciating on this place. But the main target performing arts building is the performing arts community.The concept of design performing arts is appreciative and educative, which distributed through work. Educative is educating and teaching. In accordance with the user, and provide characteristic the artist who likes nature.

Abstract

Mandarin has become one of the most popular and internationally known language after English. Due to the globalization need and the increasing value of Mandarin as the second international language, comes the need of a Mandarin learning center. By designing a public facility that develop courses into a specialized Mandarin language school, it is hoped that the learning of Mandarin can be more effective than just by a course. The design area includes lobby, administration room, cafe, class rooms, extracurricular rooms, teacher room, library, headmaster room, computer laboratory and meeting point area. Since the school close relation to the culture of China, the applied design concept is based on the Chinese design characters and modernity by adopting the concept of calligraphy elements.

Abstract

The abundance of raw materials such as natural rattan fiber in the country is not necessarily offset by various types of products. During this time, most of rattan processing factories  only produce furniture products for residential needs. Gradually, the saturation and decline in rattan production is increasingly felt at local and foreign market. Therefore, product diversification needs to be done to target the wider market. Decorative module-based panels are a great new alternative to increase the absorption of rattan raw materials with more efficient manufacturing systems. Along with the significant  growth of commercial buildings, the advantages of rattan-based panels are expected to be applied to various interior elements to enhance the image of related objects and support local nuances in a more modern dressing.

Abstract

Toddlers are children who have reached the age of 1 year or under 5 years of age. Toddlers are also include children aged 1-3 years, and pre-school children (aged 3-5 years). From an early age, children should be provided with spiritual education such as the Greja Kristen Jawi Wetan Jemaat Sukolilo Surabaya’s Sunday school program, where children can establish a new social circle. The design method used in this project is design thinking method, which includes survey to the Sunday school’s location, interview with the Sunday school teachers, measure the furniture and room sizes, programming analysis, schematic design, final design, 1:10 mock model and 1:1 prototype realization. Therefore, the results of design is an educative modular furniture for toddlers with knock-down system that is beneficial for the process of Sunday school activities and able to accommodate the activities of toddlers. The modular furniture also equipped with a game area with storage to introduce  shapes and colors to the children.

Abstract

People that suffer from cancer have a heavy medical burden. The side effect of their healing process is not only drains their energy and money, but also impacts on their mental. The interior design of Palliative Care’s House is designed to stimulate the positive energy around them. Healing Environment approach is used as a reference to create an environment that can reduces stressors from surrounding. It hopes that by being in this house, people can have enough rest and gain much hopes and positive energies. Palliative Care’s concept, which enhances the importance of patient’s psychology, applied by providing a clinic and therapies facilities for cancer patient to make them feel pampered and safe.

Abstract

One of the unmet needs in the mall is the space needed for children to sit and rest. Often children will feel tired walking and need a seat, but can only sit on the edge of the mall shop while waiting for their parents to shop. However, with a special waiting room for children can overcome the problem space. This child waiting area is created with consideration of the child’s activity and space requirements, designed to be attractive and comfortable for the child. Design methods used through several steps, namely formulating problems, literature review and typology, observation, programming, design development, and final design (created prototype 1:1). Set of waiting areas using specific themes of interest to children by providing education based on the theme that carried each set of waiting area. The created formations are taken from the characteristics of each theme, thus giving the impression of a strong theme on each set. Color combinations used dominant pastel colors, which is the color choice of survey results of the most popular community Surabaya.

Abstract

The convenience of mobility and the efficiency of work are greatly needed nowadays, thus, a lot of  companies are now starting from a home office. The work activities, along with another activities when people are not working have become a requirement to be fulfilled and obtained from a furniture. Generally, workstation furnitures only meet the work activities alone, meanwhile, the other activities aren’t being fulfilled. Therefore, a multi-functional furniture is needed in order to accommodate the working activities and another things as well. Forms and colors of the furniture must use universal colors in order to be one with the room related. Ergonomy and material standards are also influential in order to support the user working activities.

Abstract

Apartments have several types of rooms, but the most commonly used is studio type. The average studio-type apartment has a narrow living space and no living room so guests who wish to visit eventually sit in bed or in less appropriate places. Therefore the need for furniture that can meet all the needs in one space. In this article the product is designed in the form of a set of furniture for the living room with a magnet base as its join. This furniture uses knockdown construction system so it can be dismantled and can be stored in flat pack. The concept taken for design this time is by combining natural materials with industrial materials, from here taken the theme of the concept, named "Magnetize the Nature". Apart from the material side, the shapes taken also come from nature, but are simplified into simple geometric shapes

Abstract

Indonesia yang adalah negara kepulauan memiliki beragam kebudayaan yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia. Akan tetapi banyak fasilitas untuk menampung kebudayan di masing-masing daerah kurang dimaksimalkan. Salah satunya adalah Museum Provinsi Kalimantan Timur “Mulawarman” di Tenggarong yang memiliki lebih dari 5000 koleksi tetapi jumlah pengunjung masih sangat jauh di bawah rata-rata, sehingga pendapatan berkurang dan mengakibatkan kurang adanya perhatian dalam merawat museum ini. Oleh karena itu, redesain interior Museum Provinsi Kalimantan Timur ini yang mengangkat konsep sebuah perjalanan melintasi Kalimantan Timur, penyajian koleksi museum akan disajikan berdasarkan kronologisnya. Museum ini di desain dengan dasar ketertarikan pengunjung sehingga mengutamakan unsur rekreatif dan entertain-nya tetapi tanpa mengesampingkan unsur konservatif, edukatif, dan informatif. Dengan adanya redesain interior Museum Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, dapat menaikkan citra Kalimantan Timur dan membuat Kalimantan Timur lebih dikenal di Indonesia bahkan di dunia.
