Abstract

People in Indonesia this year have started to care about what they consume. This will affect food brands to create new innovations continuously in order to complement the consumer’s needs and desires. It started a competition between several brands in order to get most customers. In addition, through the innovations made, store and office interior also play an important role in attracting consumer’s interest and desires. This brings up the need of interior brand Puratos redesign. The "Welcome Able" concept is used in the design to create a welcoming, homey, colorful & comfy atmosphere in accordance to company’s vision and mission. This design used brown and white dominant neutral color with a little black color and red, yellow, and green as Puratos focal point color. This concept is chosen to make visitors interest and try puratos products so it will increase puratos sales and the brand is known better by the public. By changing the design as well as adding more facilities to the company for visitors and workers, the visitor’s comfort and worker’s performance will certainly increase. This also will make visitors come more often and more interested to come and shop at this brand company.

Abstract

Study Lounge Café is a facility which is designed to meet the individual needs of high school and university students, such as learning or doing their assignments. This study lounge café is equipped with facilities such as air conditioning, wifi, photocopier, printer, scanner, computer, and other supporting facilities to increase the effectiveness of the work. The concept used is “A Fun Place to Study”, which is applied to “Playground” theme. Both concept and the theme were chosen to create a comfortable learning activities through interesting yet fun ambience. The concept also can be seen from the use of bright colors, playground-equipment-formed furniture, and the addition of quotes that motivates visitors. The design uses design thinking method according to Kembel.

Abstract

Children are a valuable asset in family and nation. The golden days of childhood development are very important that only occurring once and should not be wasted. One solution is through PAUD (early childhood education) the curriculum is good and also has adequate facilities for both interior elements and supporting elements of furniture. Furniture used for children can not be arbitrary, and all aspects of production need to be considered such as color, ergonomics, and others. Especially material, material will affects the comfort and safety of children. This research will discussing about the application of used materials on PAUD furniture that can be useful for children with affordable budget but still safe, comfortable, and has aesthetic value. This research begins with the collection of data by interview, observation, analysis, and its application through the manufacture of furniture 1: 1. The result of this research is furniture from used materials which is suitable for early childhood and can help teaching and learning process in PAUD. Abstract

Interior lamp armature design with ceramic and wood as materials is to consider the mechanism character of both materials. These materials can be collaborated as such to complement in both design and construction system. The pre-eminence of ceramic in general has better pressure quality compared to pull quality, yet the limitation of ceramic is its vulnerability. Related to lamp armature design, ceramic has a character that can reflect lights. Wood which has a character that absorb lights and high durability will be combined to improve the ceramic material character, and relatively low weight and high resistance to chemical and electrical influences. From these collaboration, both mechanical character of the materials compliments each other in designing interior lamp armatures. Armature lamp design also pays attention to market trend, user needs, and theory of literature review. The achieved results are to optimize the mechanical properties of ceramic and wood materials in lamp armature construction system. This design realization helps develop the creativity of local Indonesian craftsmen and becomes a new breakthrough for the interior product design industry.

Abstract

Dense city of Surabaya and the modern wolrd can make people stressed and bored with the routine performed every day. Therefore needed a facility that can provide relaxationto soothe the mind at once pampering after a long day of work. Chocolate house in Surabaya, this is a place that can be used as a means of recreation to relieve boredom, where visitors can also get education by conducting chocolate making courses, as well as see various explanations about cocoa contained in chocolate gallery. Otherwise it can be used as a place fo relaxation to soothe the mind and relieve stress. By taking a refreshing design concept and apply natural impression of the interior rooms were implemented through the use of materials, so that the design of the room can be at one with nature and provide relaxation to the visitors.

Abstract

This facility was designed based on the need for recreation spaces such as entertainment and education facilities for children in Surabaya. Reality shows that facilities like this are still limited and many children cannot enjoy the experience of it. This design is different and comes with a new look that is packed with the new concept and the culture of East Java. The aim of this design is to accommodate and educate children about the culture of East Java.

Abstract

The busyness of career women who serve as housewives and also work for a living makes them lack the time to take care of their babies. Whereas the early education is the most important, when the kids are in "The Golden Age". For parents who are busy working, they will need a place like a second home for children that can care and attend to their stages of development. For the children, home has an important role in supporting the growth process. Daycare Center serves as a place where children could develop according to their needs and abilities. After studying literature and surveying daycare facilities in Surabaya, then established a facility that will be able to attend to the needs of children at age 6 months - 8 years with excellent standardization for the development of the children. Guiding and educating children by “playing while learning and learning while playing” method is the main foundation of this design plan.

Abstract

Football is one of the most popular sports in Indonesia. In reverse, Indonesian football is slumped by lack of achievement both domestically and internationally. Indonesia has many talented young players. But not many soccer academies in Indonesia are able to develop these young players. Therefore, adequate facilities are needed that can support the development of young players talent.This design uses the method of collecting quantitative and qualitative data. The design method used is 3 stages, inspiration, ideation, and implementation. Academy soccer in Malang will be more emphasis on facilities that support the activities of students while in the academy. The main facilities are academic learning facilities, and soccer practice facilities. Other supporting facilities are public facilities and administrators. The design of this football academy will provide soccer practice and learning facilities for young Indonesian players.

Abstract

A conducive study area is a need of students, especially in Petra Christian University. But often the given facility by the university is still cannot fulfill the need of their students. The facility that is needed for a study area is study pod. Study pod is a private space that can be used by university students and staffs to do their academic activities in the public area. These activities include learning, discussion, and browsing. The study pod design is made under the questionnaire survey and site observation, the selected location analysis, concept design alternates, designing and making prototype. Study pod is designed to have an ease of transfer, light, and flexible. Therefore, study pod uses a knock down system to fulfill the mentioned criteria. Study pod is one of the effort to fulfill the learning needs of Petra Christian University students to be facilitated in a comfortable means.

Abstract

Maternity Clinic is a place that provides professional services related to pregnancy, ranging from control of uterus, childbirth, consultation, pregnancy exercise, to postpartum control. The design of maternity clinics with homey concept so that patients do not feel tense and feel comfortable. The maternity clinic "Midwife Jeanne" has not implemented the ideal design yet lacks a comfortable interior ambience, lack of concepts, ambience and good circulation despite having stood for 32 years. The formulation of the problem is how to design the interior of the maternity midwife clinics that can create space facilities that support the needs of patients from before delivery until after childbirth? The method used is the design stage design thinking, data collection methods, data processing methods, and methods of data analysis. Design thinking method using 7 stages of understanding, observe, point of view, ideate, prototype, test, Implement. The homey theme is expected to create a design atmosphere that supports the needs of patients before and after childbirth. The design of the maternity clinic is equipped with yoga facilities, salon, cafeteria, and breastfeeding room.
