Abstract

CNC machines are machines that apply a close-loop system where errors in the machine can be detected automatically via an alarm code. CNC Lathes in operation are inseparable from the maintenance and maintenance processes carried out by both machine operators and technicians in the maintenance field. In the era of Covid-19 pandemic, maintenance and maintenance policies were still carried out even though the production intensity was different under normal conditions. In this study, a maintenance strategy planning was carried out in the pandemic era of the CNC HAAS ST-10 lathe, the maintenance strategy planning was carried out based on the machine maintenance time interval and the machine working time that was different from normal conditions, from 8 working hours to 6 working hours. In addition to maintaining machine performance to stay prime, the HAAS ST-10 CNC lathe maintenance strategy is carried out to reduce maintenance costs in covid-19 conditions.

Abstract

PT. YY, a business organization and an SME (Small to Medium Enterprise), is a distributor of Stick Jelly in FC and NJ branded packaging. Its distribution covers the Greater Malang area, Indonesia. This company often encounters logistical problems, that is delivery delays. Despite having made a delivery target and schedule based on the number of each customer’s requests, its vast marketing area often results in non-punctual delivery time. PT. YY is located too far from its customers, thus, it complicates the daily distribution flow. This study attempts to solve this problem by providing technological support to determine the appropriate location for its buffer warehouse/branch. The Gravity Location Models Approach is used by knowing each customer’s coordinates, the number of requests, and shipping costs. With this approach, the right coordinate point is obtained for establishing a subsidiary branch. Based on the results of calculations and simulations, as well as the location of the buffer, it was found that there was a shipping time saving and an increase in the distribution process efficiency value up to 48%.

Abstract

The behavior of road users, especially motorcyclists and cyclists play an important role in the occurrence of accidents. Environmental factors on road, such as numbers of vehicles that share the same space which in turn will cause congestion to occur and other driver's behavior will affect the driver's emotional condition. The purpose of this study is to investigate car drivers’ visual attention and emotional state when detecting motorcyclists and cyclists whose presence on the streets are related to safe driving behavior. This study uses five animation clips that describe phenomenon of traffic and driving in Jakarta as the case studies. Emotional wheel (EW) is used to analyze the emotional state of the driver. Result suggests that animation clips can be a helpful tool to predict drivers’ visual attention in real life traffic scenarios. This study also indicated that unpleasant emotion can affect a driver’s attention management while driving.

Abstract

Demand for dragon fruit is increasing every year. But to maintain and determine the quality of good dragon fruit, it is necessary to have information about the process of handling post-harvest when distributing dragon fruit ranging from farmers to consumers. Therefore, this study aims to examine the post-harvest handling process of dragon fruit in the dragon fruit supply chain cycle in Banyuwangi Regency. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods, where the main data sources used from direct field surveys. The supply chain of dragon fruit begins with the farmers-industrial/traditional market (Banyuwangi, Jakarta, Surabaya, Tangerang, Cikopo, Solo, Medan, and Riau). The post-harvest process carried out is grading based on size/weight and level of fruit defects, packaging using wooden crates, and the distribution process to the industry/market using a closed truck. Whereas in the industrial stage, post-harvest handling is done by cleaning, storing, and processing it into processed products.

Abstract

Companies are required to understand the external environment, develop growth strategies, and implement them. One aspect of the external environment is the market itself. To understand customer needs, we use patent information as the approach from the product, rather than the approach of listening to the voice of the customer, based on the three levels of product. We proposed a method to show the value of a product based on the concept of commonality and uniqueness by comparing multiple samples. In the case of projectors, Japanese patents were analyzed. We conclude that the common content represents the core benefits of the product, and that the characteristic content represents the product attributes

Abstract

The crisis of non-renewable energy resources has pushed the global community to overcome the dominance of fossil fuel power plants. The utilization of new renewable energy sources is a solution because it is considered to have energy sources that will continue to be renewed, including wind energy. Since ancient times, wind energy can be harvested and converted into electrical energy using wind turbines. This research was conducted to analyze the feasibility of the design performance of the horizontal axis wind turbine blade NACA airfoil 6510. The feasibility analysis of the performance can be known from the simulation results by referring to the resulting efficiency value. The analysis was carried out by studying literature to determine the characteristics of the NACA airfoil 6510 and performance simulation using Qblade software. The design is carried out using data on the average maximum wind speed in Indonesia of 12 m/s. Therefore, the results of the feasibility of wind turbine blade design performance with NACA airfoil 6510 have an efficiency of 44%.

Abstract

The energy sector is critical to a country's economic and social development. Due to economic growth in South Africa, the state-owned firm has witnessed a demand for power supply over the last 20 years. To alleviate the existing supply restriction, it is now implementing capital expansion build programs. The completion of this project has been delayed. Over the last two decades, there has been a lot of system-based study such as considerable research that uses system dynamics (SD) as an analytical and modelling approach. However, merely limited critical reviews have been conducted to provide understanding of SD application in infrastructure projects. We summarize and analyse current research on SD models in infrastructure construction projects in the energy sector in this study, which is based on a thorough systematic literature review. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) approach was used to conduct a search and only 15 studies out of 130 were found to be relevant. According to the findings of the literature analysis, four main feedback structures from prior SD project dynamics models have been recognized as major trends. Design errors, rework and change management, performance and effectiveness, resource management, and project planning and control are some of the topics covered.

Abstract

Cleaner Production (CP) practices comprised environmental strategy perpetually applied in the production, processes, and services to bolster efficiency, safety, and environmental friendliness. Some factors are to be considered to achieve a cleaner production strategy: stakeholders establishment, surveys, utilization, and impact, as well as how the top management devote their practices towards cleaner production. Combining with the mindset of sustainable stocks and resources, this exercise of cleaner production provides advantages of minimum toxic wastes and residues. In this study, we prioritize this practice to be applied in the aluminum industry, of which cleaner production action has not yet been employed. Small and medium businesses now no longer have enough monetary assets to put money into cleaner production practices because they require high-cost investment. This study aimed to determine the factors that have an impact on the application of cleaner production. The method used is regression analysis. The regression analysis results showed that three variables were tested to be significant and had a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) value of 3.05 which means good. Three variables that affected the implementation of cleaner production include measurement of fuel usage, efforts to improve production process efficiency, and waste reuse by product. From the calculation results, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.550 (the influence was quite strong). The results of this study can be used as a recommendation for the government to increase the implementation cleaner production in Jombang Regency.

Abstract

Increased energy demand in Indonesia is accompanied by increasing demand for natural gas, where in the next 50 years natural gas is predicted to be the number one energy source in Indonesia, pipeline is the cheapest way to distribute natural gas, in this way, length of pipeline infrastructure will increase year by year. it is still very much needed by both the household, industry, and power plants. The longer the pipeline, the risk of pipeline failure also increases, it is necessary to understand what factors have the most influence on pipeline failure, the method used is to create a factor matrix from a modified Muhlbauer, MICMAC is used to test the strength of the relationship between significant factors causing the potential hazard of pipeline failure. based on their influences and dependencies. The value of the dependency relationship between factors is determined from discussions with several pipeline experts in Indonesia, who work in related fields, the result is that there are three main factors that contribute major potential hazards, without being influenced by other factors, that is determining safety factors in the design process, depth pipeline and the existence of SOP in the pipeline system. One factor, namely depth, can be eliminated because there are government regulations requiring natural gas pipelines to be buried in the ground at a certain depth.
