Abstract

The sustainable and economic development of the fishing industry is heavily dependent upon the choice of raw materials used in fish fodder. Furthermore, an inappropriate amount or nutritional quality of fodder will impede the health and growth of the farmed fish. This work therefore aims to determine the feasibility of substituting snail flour for fishmeal in fodder. The experimental and statistical results indicated no significant nutritional difference between fodder synthesized with fishmeal or snail flour as the protein source. Therefore, snail flour can be used to replace fishmeal used in milkfish fodder without negatively affecting the health of the milkfish.

Abstract

In a closed-loop supply chain area, the concept of sustainability is one of the primary factors that motivates companies to survive in a dynamic market. The purpose of this paper is to present a literature review of quantitative models in the remanufacturing process, especially mathematical models such as pricing decisions and cost models, reviewed from various scientific journals. Challenges to meet market demands, to boost efficient operational costs, and to increase profits have made researchers interested in deeply exploring this issue. Studies in the reverse supply chain area ensure that the supply process runs effectively and efficiently, meeting a level that is as good as when implementing the forward supply chain. Coordination and collaboration among companies, core acquisition strategy, model character behavior, and reverse channel structure are some characteristics of the quantitative models within the area of a closed-loop supply chain. Mapping was arranged to identify the involvement of research variables (core acquisition cost and remanufactured product price) and factors that were considered in the mathematical model of core acquisition (quantity and quality). Furthermore, the related literature on the issue was analyzed based on the involvement of the considered variables and factors. Finally, future research opportunities are presented as the result of the conducted literature review in this study.

Abstract

Indonesia is agricultural country which have high degree of dependency to the fertilizer availability, it is because fertilizer has important role for the land fertility. Fertilizer is needed by the farmers all the time, from the initial period of planting the crop to the harvest period. This condition requires the fertilizer industry to be able to deliver fertilizer exactly when fertilizer is needed. The complexity of the transportation problem is indicated by the number of nodes in the model that represent both source and destination. In the distribution of fertilizer, the number of sources is relatively small, but the number of destinations is very large, where the number reaches 50 destination points. In solving large scale transportation complex problems, modeling techniques using Linier Programming are needed. Fertilizer demands are fulfilled from 42 buffer warehouses, and the optimal allocation for petrochemical distribution is supplied by 47 production partners. Based on the results of the calculation process using linier programming, the optimal distribution cost is 939,854,960.00 rupiahs. Meanwhile, the initial cost of distribution is IDR 1,032,267,660.00. There was a decrease of 92,412,700.00 rupiahs or about 9%. Optimization of the distribution process is also marked by the decrease in the number of production partners needed to meet the needs of 42 buffer warehouses. In the initial distribution, 56 production partners sent their products, after the calculation process only 47 production partners were needed.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has made uncertainty in demand very high; there have been many changes in demand due to changes in the market and people's buying methods. So that forecasting accuracy is significant for every industry, at least the forecast that is closest to the conditions faced by the company so that the company does not lose money due to forecasting errors. Time series is a widely used model for forecasting using past data. This study aims to minimize forecasting errors by analyzing which demand forecasting model is most suitable for demand conditions based on historical data on demand for masterbatch products. The method used in this study is a time series model, which consists of the season naive method, holt exponential smoothing, exponential triple smoothing, and autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA). Data processing is done using Rstudio software. The results show that the ARIMA method (2,1,0) (1,1,0) is the best because it has the smallest error rate value with case studies and exact data; the standard error size values used are ME, RMSE, MAE, MPE, MAPE, MASE, and ACF1. This study analyzes forecasting during the Covid-19 pandemic using time series and compares them to find the best results. Then the results of this study can be used as a reference by companies and researchers in determining the model used to make forecasts.

Abstract

Uncertainties from many factors, oil price, production, execution and operational risks, external factors, are issues that impact project profitability. For major capital projects (MCPs), with magnitude of investment well into hundreds of millions or billions of dollars, a robust, structured rational process is required to minimize uncertainties and provide all the required information for a decision maker to make a high-quality, measured decision in continuing with execution of the project.Semi-structured interview for projects with CAPEX valued around $500 million, and above $10 billion were performed; coupled with comparison between appropriation and actual results, and literature reviews to uncover the complexities, experienced issues that happened in the process. Process and bias analysis were performed to provide solution. Reviews were made on Decision Executive (DE)/Decision Review Board (DRB) effectiveness, market price intelligence, high-grading or project sequencing options, external alignment, optimum time period of investment, biases encountered and how to mitigate them. To mitigate above identified issues, inclusion of mitigation in the FID process, through DE/DRB alignment, project sequencing, market condition scenarios, technology maturity review, debiasing methods, external stakeholder engagement, and optimize time to FID, including transformation and implementation process is presented as part of the study’s conclusion.

Abstract

Previous studies into the elements that influence the growth factors of SME show that creating new values by innovation is a key to sustainable business progress, and also that there are constant demands for creating innovation in the society. In response to such demands, there have been various models developed on creating innovation. Many have pointed out the importance of grasping the innovation not as a solution for a single problem but for the whole process of engineering development - as a system which integrates the product manufacturing, engineering and business application. Furthermore, such innovation is increasingly considered significant in the studies on the elements influencing the factors that lead to constant progress of business of, not only SME, but also companies in general. In this study, we took an example of a Japanese manufacturer which achieved the position of a niche top and has been successful in continually growing in business to investigate on and analyze the following two subjects; “the elements influencing the growth factor of an enterprise” and “the transition of the growth factors in accordance with each product lifecycle”. The result hereby shows the different elements that can create a value affecting the business growth factors in the respective stages of product lifecycle, such as Introduction, Growth and Maturity.
