Abstract

PT SGB is one of the companies that produce Ready To Drink (RTD) beverage as its product and its demand have increased every each year. The company’s supply chain process must be complex, it starts from materials order from supplier, materials storage management in warehouse, producting the beverage itself, finished good storing in the back-off factory then delivering to customers. All those processes belong to company’s supply chain stream and it is mapped as the element of Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR). From that complex processes, there were found supply chain risk as the problem. Risks that found in supply chain flow should be solved based on risk priority order. The method that used for analizing the risk is House of Risk (HOR), consist of two phases. The objective of the first phase of HOR is knowing the risk priority that should be mitigated based on the Aggregate Risk Potential (ARP) score, and the objective of the second phase of HOR are generating some preventive strategies and choosing the most effective strategy that suitable to be implemented in the company. Meanwhile, the Pareto chart is used to determine the choosen priority risk to be mitigated. There are 63 identified risk events based on SCOR elements, 43 identified risk agents, and 15 recommended preventive strategies according to the most effective sequence of strategies that applied in the company.

Abstract

Abstract one of the national manufacturing industry company engaged in the manufacture of military products with the resulting product is plastic box 260. To minimize the waste that occurs lean manufacturing approach is assisted by one of the tools in the concept of lean value stream mapping (VSM) aims to describe the overall Information from the flow of raw materials to finished products. Waste identification begins with the waste relationship matrix (WRM) and waste assessment questionnaire (WAQ) to determine the percentage of waste with the 3rd largest rank. Further analysis is done by analytical hierarchy process (AHP) aims to know the criteria of weighting from waste that has the highest ranking. The recommendation of improvement based on the analysis of waste with the 3 largest (unccessary inventory, overproduction, motion) and takt time calculation is to apply 5S, to apply forecasting, to add a working facility in the form of cooling room, to do maintenance activities such as preventive maintenance, addition of tools and machine, Setting laser machine, and layout design of production floor layout.

Abstract

Abstract: Internal combustion engine is an engine that is old enough and today has much alternative energy that is found to shift from the role of motor fuel, The cooling system in internal combustion engine, if not handled properly will cause something that is fatal is the occurrence of overheating. Cooling during this time using the fin and radiator, and research continues to grow in terms of heat transfer, that is by using porous media, with the help of computer simulation then the role of the fin and radiator can be replaced with porous media with porosity variation 10%, 15%, 20% 25%, 30% so that the temperature distribution will be obtained. The result of the research by using simulation shows that the porosity value of porous media, the temperature distribution value is also bigger. The lower porosity of the value of (h) the heat transfer coefficient will increase.

Abstract

By making logistics outsourcing decision, companies have been able to improve the logistics performance, maintain focus on core business, and minimize distribution cost. However in decentralized condition, there is only limited control of the third party logistics service provider (TPLSP), whose logistics service performance affect the products availability, quality, price, and market share. In this research, a model is developed as coordination mechanisms with the implementation of logistics outsourcing in decentralized supply chain. Revenue sharing contract model is developed in the proposed model to coordinate the supply chain consisting of manufacturers, TPLSPs, and retailers. Moreover the incentive and penalty scheme are implemented in accordance to the supply chain logistics service performance, so the risks and the necessary costs could be allocated to all players. To increase the desirability level of the contracts for all players, the contracts parameters are determined so that all players could obtain higher profit than in a common decentralized supply chain conditions, furthermore the win-win condition can be achieved. This paper provides new model of coordination mechanism in supply chain with logistics outsourcing and offers the incentive and penalty scheme into the basic model of revenue sharing contracts.

Abstract

Time is one of the factors to assess a worker's performance in utilizing the available resources. Operator in his work requires efficient time to improve work productivity. One of factory in produce a shrimp feed in Surabaya has a large production level. In the production process, the packaging department in this company still uses human resources in their production process and the company define the standard of production without using standard time. This paper investigates the opportunity a logical analysis in determining the standard time in this company. The determination of the standard time in the packaging process requires comprehensive analysis. Objects observed are four operators in the packaging department that carried out the activities of filling bag the shrimp feed with 40 replication for each data. The work measurement was conducted by direct method using Stopwatch Time Study (STS) with snap-back method. The results of this study indicate the standard time value of the four lines packaging is not much different or almost the same. Sequentially the standard time workers line 1 to line 4 is 7.325 seconds, 7.240 seconds, 7.225 seconds, and 7.065 seconds. Allowance used for workers is 8%. However, the existing production rate of company is higher than the production rate of work measurement calculation. This is due to the difference of definition in employee allowance rate and performance rating.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a conceptual framework for assessing and minimzing industrial waste. A conceptual framework is developed by integrating Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool and cleaner production method. LCA is utilized to evaluate and identifi  industrial waste along the life cycle of product/services . On the other hand,  cleaner production method is implemented for mitigation strategy to minimizing the most significant waste along industrial activities. By using LCA, the significant waste will be identified. Furthermore, cleaner production will be implemented to the significant waste to improve the environmental performance of industries activities. Cleaner production strategies such as product modification, Input substitution, technology modification, reuse/recycling, and good housekeeping are applied to prevent industrial waste generation. Furthermore, the integration betwen LCA tool and CP method significanly improve the environmnetal performance  during the industrial activities. CP and LCA were succesfull for improving environmental performance in term of raw material saving, water saving, energy saving and wastewater reduction.

Abstract

High machine downtime and large number of rejected products is still become a big problem for company as a research object in this study. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is one of the methods used to measure the effectiveness of a machine with three measurement factors, namely; availability rate, performance rate, and quality rate. The integration of OEE measurement and lean manufacturing analysis method is employed to improve production system in company. The measurement result shows that the value of availability rate is 88.82%, performance rate 93.70%, and quality rate 98.20%; then the OEE values obtained 81.73%. The root cause is investigated by using FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) method particularly from the RPN (Risk Priority Number).

Abstract

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is an effective and popular approach to deal with global competitiveness. It can be applied by companies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes. Developing a continual improvement and abandon the conventional ways will increase the work efficiency. The process can be transformed to create a more efficient process with value-added and get more benefit to the company in the future. In this study, the evaluation of quality reporting process was conducted by BPR approach. The re-design and reconstruction of the process with information technology implementation give a significant improvement in the work efficiency, both efficiency value, step number, and time efficiency.
