Abstract

Aviation industry often faced uncertainty demand and high level of cancellation. Revenue management in the airline is related to demand management policies to classify and estimate the various requests of pricing and capacity control. This study will develop airline revenue management model integrates luggage passengers with air cargo based on the control of air cargo space. The airline must pay attention to customer behavior due to high cancellation and no-show. In this case we deal with the aspect of the overbooking in which one of the ways to reduce the cost of spoilage due to cancellation or no show. Moreover, in this proposed model, we discuss the expected revenue function to maximize the expected revenue from the policies of accept or reject the booking requests between passengers and air cargo by the same airline. This study aims to develop expected revenue in the dynamic programming model in order to maximize the revenue expectations of the policy of accepting and rejecting booking request between passengers with air cargo in the same airline.

Abstract

Manufacturing organizations faces many changes along with the occurrence of environmental changes, it comes from internal and external sources. Innovation become one of the keywords to help the organizations be more competitive, such as doing product development. First, digging through from the survey, the customer’s needs as the initial planning phase, concept development, system level design, detail design, test and reparation details among the beginning of production. During the product development process, the Organization has not identified the potential waste in detail yet at each stage of product development. Moreover, the repair process becomes less effective. By using this concept, it will help in potential waste identify. The results showed that the stage of concept development had the highest frequency, for instance the common of lacking information related to the customers need products information which will be developed. Then, frequency is happened on the stage of the testing, and refinement, detail design, system level design and planning. Through the concept of lean VSM can be known by using a value of VA 53%, NVA 29% and 18% Waste, time to market can be shortened 18% or 47 days from early 262 days be 215 days.

Abstract

This study is initiated from a perspective that OPEX is not one of the mainstream issues in the area of productivity improvement. However, the potency of OPEX applied to assist the management to improve the productivity is solid. From the literature review, it is found that this circumstance is probably caused by the confusions of the researcher and management about OPEX. In this paper, OPEX is then considered as a business strategy in order to narrow the discussion and reduce the confusion. As a business strategy, it is important to develop a framework to apply it in every level of organisation. Because, framework of OPEX has not yet found, a framework is proposed in this research based on the structure of OPEX. The framework is then applied in two case studies at two different company. The result shows that the framework is capable to assist the management to achieve the goal of OPEX.

Abstract

In this paper, we studied ant colony optimization for solving integrated scheduling of production and distribution problems. We improved the ant colony optimization by adding double selections, there are, roulette wheel and elitism selections. Roulette wheel selection is used to determine the path where ants pass through before knowing pheromone information in that path. Meanwhile, elitism selection is used to keep the best solution before the more optimum solution obtained. Then, ant colony optimization and improved ant colony optimization are implemented in solving integrated scheduling of production and distribution problem in PT. BFPI. The aim of this paper is to achieve optimum production and distribution schedule in order to minimize the total cost of production and distribution. We also compare performance of both applied methods and draw the conclusion. The results show that the method we proposed has more advantage.
