Abstract

The goal of this research is to apply risk management model related to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) by integrating Causal Effects Diagram (CED), Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). The research method consists of three (3) stages. Stage 1) Using CED method to know the correlation between the risks and their causes. Stage 2) Making an assessment by using Analytic Network Process (ANP) with Software Matlab, stage 3) Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) is used to get the model of connectivity in mitigation of occupational accident. From ANP method, it is clear that the dominant potential risk in structural phase is 44% and the highest cause of accident by human factor is 77%, and it is due to the unsafe behavior. ISM method is used to know the mitigation in reducing the occupational accident risks, namely improvement of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management, Each Scaffolding establishment must be inspected by a certified expert, the working methods must obey the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), The risk control should be done in relation to potential cause of occupational accident which can minimize the risk on construction work (zero accident).

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in manufacturing the defense and security products for military and commercial, which consists of 20% of military products and 80% of commercial products. This study aims to determine the performance assessment of the curving machineoperators in PT.XYZ. Previously, the system of operator's performance assessment has an incomplete criterion that is less likely to reflect actual operator performance and the absence of reference data for annual bonus sharing. To get an accurate operator performance, then conducted an assessment based on the Spencer competency owned by each operator. The dimensions of this assessment are based on objective and subjective judgments. Research data were collected by observation and filling out the questionnaire. Then, data were analyzed using Expert Choice software. The method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was chosen in accordance with the research problems and objectives. After obtaining the final result of weight of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the next performance assessment was done by integration with Rating Scale method. The results show that there is a difference in the measurement of performance evaluation of the prior and new method, this is due to additionalcriteria taken into the new assessment, including absenteeism (presence), quantity of work, work quality, work safety, teamwork, and so forth.

Abstract

Transportation and distribution are two things that are closely related to logistics problems However, on the other hand this activity can sometimes damage the environment. Emissions from fuels used in transportation and distribution activities accounted for 29.4% of the total costs incurred by the organization in their activities. From this issue many organizations finally make environmentally friendly logistics as priority in their activities, where the goal of minimizing distribution costs and maintaining sustainability of environments. Some factors that can be improved are: determination of the location depot, combination of vehicle and the route. Therefore, this study aims to develop mathematical model that optimize these three factors integration to minimize the emission cost. The results of this research are the mathematical model, optimization of the development of the Simulated Annealing (SA) method that is applied to the problem is able to get a reduction in total emissions costs up to 18.8%.

Abstract

Many companies managed to improve logistics performance by making outsourcing decisions on logistics activities. The use of logistics outsourcing, not only can maintain their focus on core businesses, but also continue to minimize distribution costs by establishing relationships with third party service providers to create value of their operational performance excellence. But in a decentralized supply chain condition, the control of the supply chain players towards third-party logistics service providers is also limited, while the performance of logistics services affects the availability of products, quality, price, and market share of these companies. Coordination mechanisms are needed in a decentralized supply chain, especially with the implementation of logistics outsourcing decisions, so companies can maintain competitive advantage. In this paper, the model revenue and inventory-risk sharing contract was developed to coordinate the supply chain consisting of manufacturers, third party logistics service providers, and retailers. In addition, incentive and penalty schemes are applied based on the performance of logistics service providers that will affect the level of availability in retailers, so that inventory risk can also be allocated to all stakeholders.

Abstract

Loading containers into a vessel can be delayed because of inefficient processes in the container yard. These container yard inefficient processes can be caused by inappropriate stacking position and inefficient crane operation. Inappropriate containers stacking positions may need some preparatory jobs of rearranging containers ahead of loading time to reduce delays in the process. The method will allow preparatory jobs to be scheduled together with main jobs to optimize use of the idle time of ASCs. This research aims to find a better scheduling strategy of twin ASCs as well as improving land utilization in a vertical-layout container yard to minimize delays in containers loading process. The uncertainty of truck arrival is accomodated by implementing iterative rescheduling in look-ahead planning horizon. The algorithm finds the optimal position of the container in the yard by implementing scoring function for each available slot. Finally, some numerical experiments are conducted to prove the performance of the algorithm.
