Abstract

One product that has a short life cycle is a fashion products where the consumer desires can influence the company's decision to develop the product. Batik is one of Indonesian local wisdom, which not all of batik in Indonesia has a high popularity, such as Batik Malangan. Kansei Engineering method used in this study to identify the implicit desire of users in the form of feeling, emotion, or perception when interacting with Batik Malangan. By implementing the procedures Kansei Engineering Type I, there are 30 words that appear using 14 stimulants of Batik Malangan. Statistical data analysis performed using multivariate analysis. The most important kansei words chosen by using Factor Analysis and Principal Component Analysis. In this study, a total of 61 respondents who are citizens of Malang and from outside Malang participated. For customers, the main attraction at the Batik Malangan is the motive, whether the primary motive, secondary motive, nor the isen motive. Until now, Batik Malangan’s motive not yet have a characteristic, so it is less well known by customers. Overall, this study contributes to that Kansei Engineering is a method that can be used to capture the feeling of customers mainly on customized products. With so many product variations based on local wisdom should be able to be developed by actually capturing the customer's desire, not only explicit but also implicit.

Abstract

Productivity is the key to improved standard of living of a Country. Productivity growth represents the key to economic success. In this perspective we could increase productivity, one through human resources productivity that represents a potential contained within each human being. From understanding of human resources, then human health is one factor that important to support good human resources. And stress is one of human health problems that can be classified as dangerous phenomenon that leads to deterioration of people’s total functioning The physiological stressors activate two stress response systems; the HPA axis (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) and SAM sympatho-adrenal-medullary axis. SAM activates two regulatory systems, i.e. systems hormones norepinephrine and direct system sympathetic innervations. Both affect increased secretion of salivary amylase. Increased levels of norepinephrine associated with the increased of blood pressure, heart rate, and skin temperature. In this research we use blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature and salivary amylase because the four physiological factors can be measured by non-invasive way and without requiring special skills. Ten people volunteered to participate in this study. All study participants were healthy adults and aged between 23 until 35 years old. All of them are not smoker. The subject consisted by five males and five females. All of them will measured their blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), salivary amylase, and skin temperature. Further, the experiment data will analyzed using statistical analysis – Ordinal Logistic Regression to know the influence of stress on physiological factors. Two physiological factors namely amylase and heart rate that affected by stress. For blood pressure and skin temperature revealed no effect. No effect in this case based solely on the statement of the hypothesis only. Indeed for the results of the effect of stress on blood pressure and skin temperature result still not clear. Due to it can be both factors at the time of acute stress response. While this study only used to determine the effect of stress on physiological factors immediately.

Abstract

Patchouli oil is the main ingredient of parfume as the binder of the fragrances. Patchouli oil is the distillates of patchouli’s leaves and stems. The distillation produces waste (dry leaves) which nowadays used as fertilizer, myrrh, mosquito coil, compost, and as the fuel of the distillation process itself. Up to today, the use of dry leaves as the distillation’s fuel is by burning them normally. We believe that this fuel can be used by other sectors by forming it as brickets. This research aims to find the right parameter combination of the patchouli’s dry leaves, stems, and other materials with taguchi’s method that hopefully can be used as household and even industrial fuels. Factors that contribute the most to elevates the average value of the combustion’s duration are the adhesive level, patchouli leaves’ carbon particle size, and drying duration. Whereas the combustion duration interval is 44,3036< Upredicted < 61,62.

Abstract

Rapid urban growth has caused an increase of infrastructure and building construction projects in recent years in terms of project scale and number. Many of which certainly involve the construction of deep foundation, including pile foundation. In particularly densely populated urban areas, the need for more environmentally friendly pile driving equipment, such as hydraulic static pile driver (HSPD), is therefore inevitable. The aim of this study is to give a problem solving about HSPD productivity using analytical model. The objective of this study is to produce curves model of HSPD productivity. An analytical model has been designed utilizing 252 data of point piling from the four projects and simulation, i.e. size of driven piles, piling depth, and cycle time. The result of model is nomogram of HSPD productivity against piling depth for 3 driven pile size such as equilateral triangle 32 cm, square 25 cm, and square 30 cm. The model average validity is 96.07% and deviation standard is 2.32%. The sensitivity value 95.154% for equilateral triangle 32 cm, 9.376 for square 25 cm, and 94.298% for square 30 cm of driven pile.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of many paper manufacturing companies in East Java which produces Exercise Book. The company implements corrective engine maintenance system where new components replacement is done when the engine is damaged. This treatment system resulted in frequent engine sudden stopping. With so many breakdown frequencies resulting from the fact that the engine stops abruptly, the broken raw materials increases in number and causes losses for the company. To overcome that problem we need appropriate treatment strategies to minimize the frequency of breakdown. Another aim is to minimize downtime and maintenance costs incurred because of engine maintenance activity. There are 3 maintenance scenarios implemented to solve such problem, i.e. scenario based on the existing condition of the company, scenario of component replacement in accordance with Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) value, and scenario of component replacement when the reliability of the component has reached 70%. From those three scenarios we will manually carry out an interval maintenance planning and Monte Carlo simulation. The result of data processing shows that in order to minimize the number of Exercise Book engine breakdown we can apply the 3rd scenario namely the replacement of component when the reliability of component has reached 70%. To minimize the amount of downtime and maintenance costs appropriately we shall use scenario 2, namely the replacement of component based on the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) value.

Abstract

Halal products become more popular in the world market today that increase the demand of other halal services especially in halal distribution system. These services are designed not only for profitability but its ability to serve customers to maintain the integrity of their halal products. The important decision of designing halal distribution system is determining the location of facilities. In this paper, a halal and non-halal demand constrains with vehicle flow formulation of an uncapacitated location routing model is presented. Halal and non-halal goods are not mixed on a same transportation vehicle. Its a clear difference in transportation of halal and non-halal goods. A location routing problem used to minimize total cost simultaneously. A heuristic algorithm is developed to solve minimum cost considering halal aspect. This paper conduct some numerical experiments to show the behavior of this algorithm.

Abstract

2000 times of downtime had been occurred during year 2013 to 2014 in Tjoekir sugar factory. The most serious downtime occurred in mill. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) was employed to analyze the probability score and implement Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to find out impact score of risk event. The results of FTA indicate that risk event in cane cutter blade had the highest probability score, while results of AHP shows that the decrease of steam pressure in turbine drive had the highest impact score. The scores classified in risk class and mapped in risk matrix show that there were three risk events. Tjoekir has to set a conveyor gate to filter canes before being received by the machine, use blades with the thickness not exceed 22 cm to avoid fatigue, and check harvested cane thoroughly that is loaded onto carriers to ensure no machete is accidently loaded with the cane.
