The tourism industry is an industry that can absorb many creative economic markets. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the creative economic activities as added value that support the tourism industry. The creative economy analyzed here is the creative fashion economy, which is one of the supporters in providing direct income and advertising as a downstream chain of tourism to convey messages to consumers. Method used qualitative and quantitative by looking for regression between income and costs and based on questionnaires conducted on consumers. The results showed a relationship between costs of advertising incurred with income derived from visitor. In a qualitative analysis in the fashion subsector, fashion can contribute a value of 10-12% to revenue. To accelerate in this industry is by knowing the various sub-sectors that are part of the tourism industry value chain and increasing creativity and innovation of creative economic products (fashion and advertising).

Abstract

The purpose of this research paper to identify the impact of sustainable tourism management towards the economic conditions of a community. In 2018, Pandawa Beach has won first rank for Indonesia Sustainable Tourism Awards (ISTA) in the field of economic utilization to local communities hence the author decided to use Pandawa Beach for the research. The qualitative data were collected from interviews and the quantitative data were collected from questionnaires. The method for analyzing the data is using descriptive analysis. The research result shows that sustainable tourism gives positive impacts towards the economic conditions on Kutuh Village. 72 people out of 90 are satisfied with the current economic welfare of the local community. The data is also valid because the AVE and CR results are all above 0.7 which means the results are acceptable. Abstract

This article is a research about the development of human resources in the hotel business in Dili, Timor Leste. This area has higher total number of employees compare to other areas in Timor-Leste though the foreign labour force still dominates in the management level and professional specialist, although number of local employee is bigger than number of foreign employee. The aim of this article is to nd out the condition of human resources and managerial e orts regarding to development of employees in the hotel business in Dili. The data collection is through deep interviews, eld observation and documentation study such as purposive sampling. The result of research shows that currently hotel employees trully need coaching and instruction in improving employees’ performances. Other than that, the mangerial part of the hotel business maintain their cooperation with the related government and educational institutions in providing opportunities for the hotel employees to participate in training and education in the hospitality field.

Abstract

This article examines the application of Tri Hita Karana (THK) values involving the harmonisation of conservation and culture at the Bali Botanic Garden, Tabanan, Bali. THK is an Hindu beliefs with three main harmonious concepts including harmony among people, harmony with the natural environment and harmony with God. Balinese recognise ecosystem-based nature management, as in the term Tri Mandala, three different level of spaces according to the purpose and benefits of parhyangan (holy place), palemahan (environment) and pawongan (human). These three spaces according to Balinese culture must be harmonious, balanced and preserved in order to support conservation efforts. Combined conservation efforts with cultural values is also a theme that has been utilized by the Bali Botanic Garden in building thematic collections, such as the collection of medicinal plants, traditional ceremonial plants, and ethnobotany artefacts. This collections insight into Balinese cultural conservation supports educational and tourism services at Bali Botanic Garden. The implementation of THK philosophy at Bali Botanic Garden has an important to improves resource efficiency, maintains relationships with the creators, conserves the environment and culture, and maintains harmony in reducing conflict, social imbalances and ensures the sustainability of regional development.

Abstract

This paper examines flashpacker as an area of research; which discusses the new phenomenon of the flashpacker originating it’s term from “backpacker”. In this review, a deeper analysis of the evolution and development is presented, charting the growth of the literature, focusing both chronology and epistemology. A framework for understanding and creating knowledge about flashpacker is presented, forming the basis which signposts established research themes and concepts and outlines some future directions for research. In addition, this article focuses on constraining and propelling forces, ontological advances, contributions from key journals, emerging themes and issues. The paper suggests that flashpacker has numerous foundational origins that have complicated its growth as a viable and valued concept. Abstract

This research is motivated by the post eruption of Mount Agung, Bali Province, which resulted in a decrease in tourist visits to Karangasem Regency, especially Tenganan Pegringsingan Village, which entered red zone. In an effort to increase tourism visits to Tenganan Pegringsingan Village after Mount Agung eruption, communication strategy is needed. This study uses a qualitative research methodology with descriptive qualitative approach. The purpose of this study is to determine communication strategy of Karangasem Regency Tourism Office in increasing tourist visits to Tenganan Pegringsingan Village after Mount Agung eruption. The discussion in this study discusses four stages, namely analysis and research by indetifying the problem, reviewing the objectives, and conducting a survey to find out the characteristics of tourists. In policy formulation stage determines the strategy to be used, conducts socialization to Tenganan Pegringsingan Village related to the main strategy being carried out, namely Tenganan Festival, and sets target. At the planning the implementation program stages the main strategy is carried out, started from funds, place, administration, coordination with related parties, the concept of the event, and the personnel involved. The last step is communication, in this stage, the dissemination information related to Tenganan Festival as the main strategy and conducts Tenganan Festival activities. The results of this study found that the strategies carried out could not increase tourist visits. Keywords: Communication strategy, Tourism Village, Communication Planning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi promosi yang efektif pada pariwisata dari Provinsi Gyeonggi terhadap wisatawan Indonesia yang ingin mengunjungi Korea. Lokasi penelitian ditetapkan di dua negara, yaitu Korea (Gyeonggi Provinsi) dan Indonesia (Jakarta dan Bali). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa saat ini, sebagian besar wisatawan Indonesia yang menggunakan paket wisata, sementara 52,5% responden ingin mengunjungi Korea dengan cara perjalanan pribadi di masa depan. Daya tarik wisata bagi wisatawan Indonesia antara lain: DMZ (38,2%), English Village (31,6%), Everland (30,3%) dan jenis pariwisata seperti perjalanan pendidikan (33,8%), meditasi (20%), kesehatan (15 %) juga menarik orang dari Indonesia. Strategi promosi pariwisata dari Provinsi Gyeonggi diharapkan akan diselenggarakan melalui tiga pendekatan, termasuk; Pertama, kerja sama langsung antara agen perjalanan melalui bantuan ‘B to B’ dan ‘Fam Tour’. Kedua, melalui website dan media sosial sering diakses oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Ketiga, kerja sama antara Pemerintah Provinsi Gyeonggi dan Pemerintah Daerah di Indonesia, serta kemitraan dengan perusahaan dan lembaga pendidikan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Bagus Jati Hotel is one of the accommodations in Bali which is favoured by tourists, located in Ubud, Gianyar Regency. The imagery of Bagus Jati Hotel is the consideration for tourists to decide whether they want to stay or not. The imagery can be measured through the perceptions of tourists by assessing the marketing strategy which has been applied. The aim of the studys is to identify the indicators which form the Marketings Mix variables that influence the imagery and decision of tourists staying in Bagus Jati Hotel. The study uses quantitative methods which are supported by qualitative data. The study was conducted at Bagus Jati Hotel with correspondents of 100 tourists who were being staying there. The questionnaire questioned 19 indicators and literature reviews to support the results of statistical analysis. The validity and reliability tests of the data produced 17 valid and reliable indicators. Afterward the analysis of the Structurals Equations Model was conducted by using the Smarts_PLS Version 3.0 program. The results of the analysis resulted that: 1) A simultaneously Marketing Mix has a significant effect on imagery, 2) Marketing Mixed has a significant effect on tourist decisions to stay overnight, 3) Imagery has a significant effect on purchasing decisions. Abstract

This study analyzes the tourist attraction management by PecatuVillage, South Kuta, Badung Regency. Through the regulation20/1994 concerning the Management and Retribution of TouristObject to manage the Uluwatu Temple outer area as a touristattraction, Badung Regency Goverment gave license to PecatuVillage to manage those attractions. The purpose of this researchis to find out the form, the obstructions and the efforts of DesaPakraman Pecatu in term of tourism attraction management.Theories utilized in this study included functionalism theory,structuration theory, and the theory of hegemony. The studyshows that tourist attraction outside area of Uluwatu Temple ismanaged directly by Desa Pakraman Pecatu, while other touristattractions managed by the community in the respected areaof the attractions. There are several obstructions that faced bymanagement of tourist attractions, such as limited of humanresources, limited of facilities, and limited of fund, lack ofmanagement regulation, inter-organizational coordination, andproperty ownership. The efforts which have been done to solvethe problem such as, the establishment of tourist attractionmanagement, the restructurization of tourist attraction, thepreparation of the management and retribution regulations, theempowerment of the society, and the improvement of interorganizationalcooperation.

Abstract

Pura Tirta Empul is a tourist attraction located in Gianyar regency of Bali. As a tourist attraction that provides nature and culture, Tirta Empul Temple is visited by many tourists, especially foreign tourists. Tirta Empul Temple becomes the locus in this research. The purposes of this study are to determine the motivation of tourists, characteristics / typology of tourists, and the behavior of tourists who visit Tirta Empul Temple. The theory used in this research is motivation theory that is divided into two factors, namely pull factor and push factor. While the concepts used are concept of cultural tourism, concept of motivation, concept of tourist typology, and concept of tourist’s behavior.The results showed that the main motivation of tourists in visiting Tirta Empul Temple is dominated by two factors, namely natural and cultural attractions and the desire for relaxation. While the typology of tourists, tourists who visit Tirta Empul Temple mostly are sightseeing tourists. As for the tourist behavior especially about the tourst’s activity is divided into two, namely activities related to religious and recreational activities. Abstract

The development of tourism industry can provide opportunities for tourism products including culinary in Dili, Timor-Leste. This article aims to identify types of traditional foods, measure the perception of tourists on traditional food and formulate program to develop traditional food as culinary tourism. Data collection for this article used direct field observation, interviews and documentation study, while data analysis used SWOT matrix. The results of this article revealed that in Dili there were several types of traditional food such as Saboko, Tukir, Kulu tunu or Kulu Gisa could be developed as culinary tourism. In regard to tourist perception on traditional food processing while good on quality of traditional food, food cleanliness and quality of restaurant service. Several programs conducted by the government to develop traditional food are human resource quality improvement, creating market for traditional food, identification of potential local products in each district and assessment of traditional foods.The restaurant owners also develop several programs such as menu adjustment, creativity in traditional food processing, and promotion.
