The tourism industry is an industry that can absorb many creative economic markets. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the creative economic activities as added value that support the tourism industry. The creative economy analyzed here is the creative fashion economy, which is one of the supporters in providing direct income and advertising as a downstream chain of tourism to convey messages to consumers. Method used qualitative and quantitative by looking for regression between income and costs and based on questionnaires conducted on consumers. The results showed a relationship between costs of advertising incurred with income derived from visitor. In a qualitative analysis in the fashion subsector, fashion can contribute a value of 10-12% to revenue. To accelerate in this industry is by knowing the various sub-sectors that are part of the tourism industry value chain and increasing creativity and innovation of creative economic products (fashion and advertising).

Abstract

Banyuwangi is a region that actives in developing the tourism sectors because Banyuwangi has great potential of natural resources. The efforts of Banyuwangi local government implicate to the tourist amount visiting the tourism destination in Banyuwangi. Pulau Merah is one of the favorite destinations in Banyuwangi with high visitation rate. As the effect of various tourism activity in the region, the surrounding environment of tourism destination will gain the effect of tourism activity. The effects of tourism activity are such as bringing the economics values from economical aspect, socio culture, and environment. The best management of tourism object is always based on the achievement of sustainable tourism. This research discusses the effect and sustainable tourism model in Red Island. The used statistics analysis technique here is Structural Equation Model (SEM) by using AMOS software. The result of this research shows that the model fulfills the qualification of SEM assumption and qualifies the criteria of eligibility model.Keywords: Tourism Effect, Sustainable Tourism, Structural Equation Model

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the participationof community members of Komodo village with regard toecotourism development in the island of Komodo, KomodoNational Park, West Manggarai Regency. For the purpose ofthe study, qualitative research method was applied with theapplication of qualitative data collection techniques, includinginterviews, observation, and documentary analysis. Specifically,the study was conducted in the village of Komodo withactive participation of 22 key informants. The results of thisstudy revealed the roles of the community of Komodo villageparticipation in ecotourism development, namely communitymembers’ participation in the program of Komodo TourismVillage of BNI (Bank Negara Indonesia), participation inecotourism business, and participation in conservation. Factorsthat affect Komodo village community participation weredivided into two main factors, such as factors that support andfactor that hinder the community participation. The result alsoindicated the positive impact of the community participation oneconomic, environment, and social and cultural.

Abstract

The development of the Dragon Boat Race tourism event was adopted from the religious activities of the Chinese commu- nity in Tanjungpinang City will indirectly generate an impact as a consequence of its implementation. This study aims to de- termine the impacts generated by the Dragon Boat Race Event on environmental, socio-cultural and economic aspects. This research used qualitative method and data obtained through observations, interviews and literature study. Data analysis used is descriptive-qualitative with qualitative descriptive exposure. Informants in this study are 16 people whom were selected purposively. The results show that the impact of the event of Dragon Boat Race tourism in general has some posi- tive snd negative impacts. Positive impacts on the environ- ment is the opening of the land; on the social and cultural is the creation of social interaction and international relations; and positive impact on the economy is increasing income and providing employment opportunities. Negative impacts on the environment is traffic density and noise created around the Carang River area; on the social and cultural is social dis- parities between local communities, government and private parties. This gap occurs because of differences in social status between them; on the economy is uneven benefits and profits for local communities since not many people aware of the im- portance of their participation in Dragon Boat Race.

Abstract

The development of tourism sector in Kupang for the last 10 years is concentrated in coastal region of Kupang Bay. The life style of coastal communities in Kelapa Lima before tourism was traditional and rely on nature, is now begin to change as the impact of tourism development on their life environment. The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of tourism on the quality of life of coastal communities of Kelapa Lima. The method being used in this research was descriptive qualitative and quantitative method (mixed methods research). Theory being used was Tourist Area Life Cycle. Data analysis technique was using descriptive qualitative data analysis. Presentation of data analysis result was conducted formally and informally. The result of research outlined the quality of life of coastal communities at Kelapa Lima Kupang before and after tourism developed, corresponding to 7 indicators quality of life according to OECD namely income, residence, environment, social stability, health, education and job opportunity. The role of tourism related to improvement the quality of life of coastal communities by revamping and structuring coastal area, the opening of new job opportunities, and creativity development of industrial and household output.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the image and branding of the cultural potential of a tourist destination in Buleleng Regency, so that each destination can be understood to have a different and unique identity. Buleleng Regency has natural and cultural potential that can be managed and utilized as tourist attractions. The potential can be packaged so that it becomes something that shows the identity of a destination. The large number of same turist destinations requires the accuracy in its management, so that the target market can be achieved. Brand and image become very important as a distinguishing destination between one another. In Buleleng Regency, several places have been developed by create the brand and image as tourist destinations, such as the Old Village of Buleleng Regency which consists of seven villages, Janger Kolok Bengkala Village, Bukakak Tradition, Sudaji Village, Beji Temple, Sangsit Village, Gedong Kerta and Puri in Paket Agung Village, dan Vihara in Banjar Village. In its implementation, it is recommended that brand and image formation must also be accompanied by the provision of facilities and services in accordance with the image being built. Abstract

Esteemed for its culture, Ubud has developed its image as culinary destination in Bali. The creation of this new branding of Ubud is attached to the dedication of its local talents who consistently serves Balinese food to tourists. Seeing these ongoing developments, this study analyzes the following aspects (1) Ubud and it’s development as culinary destination, (2) innovation showed by local culinary talents, and (3) thin line between cultural enrichment and deprivation. Using critical qualitative, this research was conducted by implementing indepth interviews to selected interviewes.Theories used are cultural tourism and sustainable tourism approaching to related aspects such as experience economy, millennial generation; community based tourism, and invented tradition. Results of this study are (1) the development of Ubud as culinary destination in Bali is not only supported by changes in tourist’s motivation but also the ability of it’s local talents to productively innovate (2) innovation in products, promotions and experiences are the keys in promoting sustainability of these local businesses, and (3) the growth of local culinary enrich cultural experience and is proven to strengthening Ubud’s image as a cultural tourism destination.

Abstract

Serangan located in South Denpasar is a tourist destination, visited by many foreign and domestic tourists. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of tourists and seeking the dominant factors affecting the satisfaction of tourists visiting tourist attractions in Serangan. This study uses a survey research design with a sample of 180 respondents. By using a factor analysis technique and processed using the IBM SPSS version 23. The results of the factor analysis have been identified that there are six factors form the satisfaction of tourists visiting tourist attractions in Serangan. First Factors include the beach, the attractive scenery , the peace and quiet and the tourist attraction factor. Factors 2 namely, hygiene, cultural activity, sports activity and information factors. Factors 3 namely, weather, food and cost factor. Factors 4 encompass lodging, historical place, attractive village and access factor. Factors 5 are the boat service and the local community life factor. Factor 6 is safety. From these 6 groups of factors found that the most dominant is beach factor which has influenced the satisfaction of tourists visiting tourist attractions in Serangan. Based on the findings of this study, it is hope that the government preserves the main factors forming the satisfaction of tourists who visit the tourist attraction in Serangan island.Keywords: Satisfaction, Attraction, Tourists, Serangan.

Abstract

There is a gap between the growth of internet utilization for tourism industry in Indonesia and unfortunate situation where showed from the rank of Indonesia in tourism and travel competitiveness index. In order to solve this problem, this research was conducted with three objectives as follows: to know the characteristics (strength and weakness) of current Indonesia tourism official website by a comparison with other official tourism website; to analyze the visitor’s opinions about the current Indonesian tourism official website; and to develop the new content of Indonesia tourism official website including its information system. By using a qualitative descriptive analysis, it is found that the Indonesia official tourism website still has several weaknesses particularly on its content including languages variances, visa information, currency conversion, and direction or transportation, and also has several strengths particularly to display the diversity about Indonesia, through excellent photo gallery.

Abstract

Halal tourism village is an innovation in developing tourist village by prioritizing services for Muslim tourists. Halal tourism in Indonesia has only been developed in several regions, such as West Nusa Tenggara, Riau Islands, Aceh and West Sumatra. Pulesari tourism village is a tourism village in Sleman Regency which has halal tourism potential. Attractions that are shown mostly religious nuances. This study aims to analyze and identify the potential of Pulesari Tourism Village that can support the creation of a halal tourism village. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a field to get data, make observations, documentations and interviews directly. Data analysis in this study combines the theory of tourism potential with several indicators from the Ministry of Tourism regarding halal tourism. The results of this study stated that Pulesari Tourism Village was not ready to be developed into a halal tourism village because several supporting facilities in the service of Muslim tourists had not yet been fulfilled. Abstract

This research examines the emergence of Airbnb as a sharing economy in Bali, Indonesia. Airbnb is a company whose websites allows ordinary people to rent out their homes as tourist accommodation. The focus on this article is to examine the tourists’ reviews on some properties owned by local Balinese people. These properties are located in eight regencies and one municipality in Bali. These reviews were collected by using a non-participant netnogrpahy approach and the samples are those who stay at nine accommodations in Bali. The finding shows that instead of commenting and stressing about the rooms and supporting facilities that tourists obtain while staying in these accommodation, surprisingly they were emphasising their experiences in living with locals and the friendliness of local Balinese people. This article also highlights some issues of trust and reputation in the Airbnb business model.
