Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of Market Orientation (OP) and Competitive Advantage (CA) on Business Performance (BP) through Batik Micro and Small Enterprises in Klampar Village. This research aims to help Micro and Small Batik Enterprises in Klampar Village apply research results to improve market orientation excellence and competitive advantage in all market conditions. The research method used is quantitative. This research was conducted on Batik Micro and Small Businesses in Klampar Village, Pamekasan Regency, with a research sample of 60 Micro and Small Business Owners using non-probability sampling techniques with a census (saturated) sampling approach. Data were analyzed using PLS (Partial Least Square). The results showed that four hypotheses were rejected, three had a significant impact, and hypothesis one had an insignificant impact.: Market Orientation has a significant effect on Competitive Advantage, Market Orientation has an insignificant effect on Business Performance, Competitive Advantage has a significant effect on the Performance of Micro and Small Batik Businesses, and Market Orientation has an indirect impact on Business Performance through Competitive Advantage. Abstract

Today, the goal of sustainable development is a global problem all countries face.  Economic development does not pay attention to the environmental impacts, causing problems that occur today and risk future generations' survival.  Governments in each country are expected to participate actively in achieving sustainable development goals. On the other hand, governments also face problems of poor performance, corruption, collusion, nepotism, and slow public services.  Introducing a merit system is expected to improve the existing system of government. This article discusses the effect of implementing a merit system in realizing sustainable development. This research is located in the city of Malang. The sample comes from the State Civil Apparatus of Malang City Government consisting of structural officials, functional officials, and executive officials, with the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) analysis method. Results showed that applying the merit system in recruitment and replacement, including mutation and promotion, significantly affects sustainable development. Abstract

The rapid growth of social media platforms has transformed marketing strategies, especially within Indonesia's fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. Social media marketing activities (SMMA) have become vital for influencing consumer behavior, particularly on Instagram. This research aims to investigate the effect of SMMA on purchase intention, with a specific focus on the mediating roles of brand trust and brand image. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis. Data were collected from 175 active followers of Fore Coffee’s Instagram account, ensuring the sample represented engaged consumers within the FMCG sector. The results reveal that SMMA positively impacts purchase intention both directly and indirectly. The mediating variables, brand trust, and brand image, significantly strengthened the relationship between SMMA and purchase intention. These findings underscore the importance of well-crafted social media marketing strategies in enhancing consumer purchase intention, building stronger brand trust, and fostering a favorable brand image. The study concludes that businesses within competitive industries, such as the FMCG sector, should prioritize effective social media marketing to drive consumer engagement and establish lasting customer relationships.Keywords: social media marketing, purchase intention, brand trust, brand image, fast-moving consumer goods

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem due to a lack of long-term nutritional intake, resulting in impaired growth in children. The government's commitment to reducing stunting rates can be carried out through empowerment programs. The highest level of empowerment is reflected in being able to make decisions. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing decision-making related to the community empowerment development model to prevent stunting in children in Malang Regency. The research method uses Smart/PLS analysis. Respondents are stakeholders related to stunting. The study results show that welfare directly influences decision-making regarding stunting prevention. The community at the research location needs to improve welfare to increase their empowerment in reducing stunting. Awareness of stunting problems is a potent mediator for increasing empowerment through welfare and participation. This study suggests that it is necessary to develop welfare programs and community involvement to increase community empowerment and overcome stunting. Abstract

In 2020, Banyuwangi Regency generated 852 tons of waste daily, with 78% (approximately 664 tons) unmanaged, primarily from rural areas (83%). By 2021, about 77% of this waste will continue to pollute the environment, and projections for 2040 indicate annual waste could exceed 500,000 tons, posing a risk of 385,000 tons of environmental pollution without enhanced management strategies. Private sector involvement is mandated by Banyuwangi Regulation No. 6/2022, requiring companies to implement waste reduction initiatives and develop comprehensive waste management plans, necessitating monitoring and evaluation for effective policy implementation. This paper investigates the Banyuwangi Government's capacity to implement waste reduction roadmaps by producers in the Regency.  The study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collected consist of secondary and primary data. The study consists of two analyses. The first analysis was conducted on sample documents of waste reduction roadmap developed by producers to assess the document’s quality. The second analysis is to assess the policy capacity of Banyuwangi Regency Environmental Agency to understand which area of competence still needs to be strengthened. The study emphasizes the need for producers to register with the Environmental Agency, ensuring compliance and oversight of waste reduction initiatives. The research highlights the significance of adaptability in the political landscape, particularly in modifying strategies to correspond with shifts in political leadership and development objectives. It also confronts the local government's limited financial capacity. The paper provides initial insights regarding the Banyuwangi local government's capacity to effectively enact these policies. Abstract

In the Qur'an, Surah Al-Kahfi, there is a story of the king's journey titled Dh? al-Qarnayn, which to this day is still a mystery about who Dhulqarnayn is and the location where he travels. There is an opinion that Dh? al-Qarnayn was the King of Greece, Alexander the Great (356-323 BC), because there is a similarity in the route of travel, where Dhulqarnayn's journey to the western end (maghrib al-shams) saw the sunset in the black muddy spring of 'aynin hami?ah, and near the spring there was a settlement/qauman, where to the west of this settlement there are no more settlements, so from this point Dh? al-Qarnayn turns towards the East. This route is said to be the same as Alexander's journey to Egypt when he saw the sunset at Siwa Oasis. Near Siwa Oasis was a tribe, and to the west of the Siwa Oasis region was a vast, uninhabited Sahara desert. From this point, Alexander turned eastward. This study aims to determine the impact of Climate Change in the Siwa Oasis area against land cover change. The method used compared climate variable data from 1984-2020 and the comparison of land cover area from satellite images in 1984, 2002, and 2020. The results of this study stated that there was climate change and land cover change in Siwa Oasis. Still, climate change did not have an impact on macro land cover, namely the thematic change of land cover type, where the remains of black muddy springs 'aynin hami?ah in Siwa Oasis are still visible, and there are still settlements/qauman on the banks of the Oasis of Siwa, and to the west of the oasis is still the Sahara Desert, a vast uninhabited area.
