Abstract

Until now, farmers’ welfare has not been given much attention. It can be seen from the fact that a lot of farmers have low income, and a lack of skills and knowledge. One of the ways to improve farmer welfare is to empower farmers, as done by PT. Great Giant Pineapple in Lampung, which has formed a partnership with farmers groups in Tanggamus Regency. This research is aimed to analyze the impact of empowering pisang mas (some type of ladyfinger) banana farmers, through a partnership with the company based on the concept of CSV (Creating Shared Value). This study used a qualitative method, and the informants were selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, as well as document studies. The informants consisted of banana farmers who are members of farmers groups, as well as group leaders, the farmers’ cooperative management, and the CSV staff. The results of the study indicate that the impact of the partnership program between farmers groups and PT. Great Giant Pineapple can be grouped into economic and social impacts. On the economic side, the impact can be seen in the improvement of farmers’ business skills, increase in farmers’ income, more job opportunities for the surrounding community, and farmers’ access to other institutions. Meanwhile, the social impacts include increase in capacities, skills as well as motivation and confident behavior among farmers, and the strengthening capacities among the farmers groups.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of satisfaction and importance among trainees towards distance training and identify the strengths and weaknesses of distance training implementation so that the organizers can maximize the satisfaction of the trainees towards the implementation of distance training. This research used quantitative and qualitative analysis within the framework of Level 1 (Reaction) of the Kirkpatrik Evaluation Model, as well as the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results showed that: (1) the trainees were very satisfied with the implementation of distance training; (2) the implementation of distance training is considered very important to be implemented; (3) Some evaluation indicators have positive gap values, while others have negative gap values, meaning that some evaluation indicators have not met the expectations of stakeholders; and (4) most evaluation indicators are in quadrants A and B, meaning that they either must be prioritized to improve the performance, or maintained because they are already considered good. Therefore, the Financial Education and Training Agency through work units in the region, especially the Makassar branch, needs to improve the performance of distance training implementation, especially in the evaluation items/indicators in quadrant A to increase the satisfaction of participants in the next training sessions.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore the results of the evaluation of Electrical Installation Training of the Technical Support Unit of Employment Training Center of Pandeglang Regency based on aspects including context, input, process, product, and outcome, so that recommendation can be obtained for the next training.  This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. The CIPPO evaluation model was used in this study. The results indicated that while the setting, process, and product elements could be classified as satisfactory, the input and outcome aspects remained in the poor category. Nonetheless, even with remaining limitations in terms of input and implementation outcomes, the training program can run well. This electrical installation training can be extended by strengthening program components on the input side, particularly facilities and infrastructure, as well as on the output side, in order to maximize labor absorption and reduce unemployment.
