Abstract

This research was a quasi experimental research that aimed to find out the influence of Missouri Mathematics Project towards students understanding of mathematical concepts. Missouri Mathematics Project is a learning model that designed to help students more easy to understand the material.  The population was all students of grade VIII of Junior High School State 2 Bangunrejo in academic years 2012/2013 that consist of 183 students and distributed into five classes.  The samples were students of VIII.A and VIII.D class that determined by purposive sampling technique.  The design was posttest only control group design.  Based on the research, it was concluded that Missouri Mathematics Project influences mathematical conceptual understanding of students of grade VIII of junior high school state 2 Bangunrejo in academic years 2012/2013 in planometry concepts.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Missouri Mathematics Project terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Missouri Mathematics Project adalah suatu model pembelajaran yang didesain untuk membantu siswa lebih mudah memahami materi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bangunrejo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang berjumlah 183 siswa dan terdistribusi ke dalam lima kelas.  Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VIII.A dan VIII.D yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh hasil bahwa Missouri Mathematics Project berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP 2 Bangunrejo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 pada materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar.Kata kunci: missouri mathematics project, model pembelajaran, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type considered by student’s understanding of mathematical concepts. The population of this research was all students of grade VII even semester of SMP Negeri 1 Trimurjo in academic year 2012/2013 totally 210 students that distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were taken by purposive sampling technique and got VII E as experimental class and VII C as control class. The design of this research was posttest only control design. The data of research was the score of student’s understanding of mathematical concepts which obtain by posttest. Based on data analysis, student’s conceptual understanding of mathematics of cooperative learning model of NHT type was better than conventional learning. So, it was concluded that cooperative learning model of NHT type was effective considered by student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experimental yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Trimurjo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 sebanyak 210 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam tujuh kelas. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas VII E sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Data penelitian berupa nilai pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui posttest. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT lebih baik dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This was quasi experimental research which aimed to know the students’ mathematical conceptual comprehension who taught by Number Heads Together compared to conventional learning. The population in this research was all students of grade eighth of SMPN 1 Gadingrejo in academic year 2012/2013 that distributed into eight classes. The samples of this research were taken by purposive sampling technique. VIIID as the experimental class which taught by cooperative learning model of NHT type and VIIIC as the control class which taught by conventional learning. The conclusion of this research was the students’ mathematical conceptual comprehension who taught  by cooperative learning model of NHT type was as same as the students’ mathematical conceptual comprehension who taught by conventional learning.Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Gadingrejo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang terdistribusi ke dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas VIIID sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan kelas VIIIC sebagai kelas kontrol yang  mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT sama dengan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effectiveness of learning strategy of Think Talk Write considered by student’s mathematical communication ability. The population of this research was grade eighth students of Junior High School State 29 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012/2013. The samples were chosen by purposive random sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control group design. Based on analysis of data, it was founded that gain of student’s mathematical communication ability with strategy of Think Talk Write was higher than gain of student’s mathematical communication ability with conventional learning, but the student’s mastery learning with strategy of Think Talk Write didn’t reach the target. Thus, it can be concluded that strategy of Think Talk Write was not effective considered by student’s mathematical communication ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 29 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write lebih tinggi daripada peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran konvensional, tetapi ketuntasan belajar siswa dengan strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write tidak memenuhi target. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, think talk write

Abstract

This was a quasi experimental research that aimed to find out the influence of cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type towards student’s understanding of the mathematical concepts. The implementation of Think Pair Share includes three stages, that are Thinking, Pairing, and Sharing. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII in even semester at  SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik school  year 2012/2013 that distributed into five classes. The samples were students of VIIIA and VIIIC class who taken by purposive sampling technique with posttest only control design. The research data was obtained by tests of mathematical conceptual understanding. Based on the analysis of data, it was concluded that cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type influenced to students mathematical conceptual understanding of students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik school year 2012/2013. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Pelaksanaan Think Pair Share meliputi tiga tahap, yaitu Thinking, Pairing, dan Sharing. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII semester genap SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung Udik tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIIA dan VIIIC yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan menggunakan desain penelitian posttest only control design. Based on the result of data analysis using t-test, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type influenced students mathematical conceptual understanding of students of grade IX of SMPN 3 Terbanggi Besar in academic year 2013/2014.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran think pair share terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Terbanggi Besar tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Abstract

This quasi experimental research purposed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of Group Investigation type viewed by mathematics learning result of students of grade XI IPS SMAN 8 Bandar Lampung even semester in academic year 2012/2013. This research design was posttest only control design. The population of this research were all students of grade XI IPS SMAN 8 Bandar Lampung even semester in academic year2012/2013 which distributed into five classes. Samples of this research were all students of XI IPS 3 as experiment class and students of XI IPS 4 as control class. Samples were chosen by purposive random sampling. The data of this research was students mathematics learning result. The research concluded that the application of cooperative learning model of Group Investigation type was effective to increase the result of students mathematics learning.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation ditinjau dari hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Sampel dipilih melalui teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian ini adalah data hasil belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa.Kata kunci: efektivitas, group investigation, hasil belajar

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to compare the students understanding of mathematical concept who taught by PMR and conventional learning. PMR is a learning that began on real troubles and mentored students to discover the mathematical concepts on the real problems. The population in this study was all grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012/2013 and  the samples of this study were students of VIIID and  VIIIF class who selected by purposive sampling. The design of this study was posttest control design.  Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that generally, the average value of students understanding of mathematical concepts in PMR was higher than conventional learning. So, the PMR learning was better than conventional learning.Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan PMR dan pembelajaran konvensional.  PMR merupakan pembelajaran yang bermula pada masalah real dan siswa dibimbing menemukan konsep matematika pada masalah riil tersebut.  Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2012/2013 dan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIID dan VIIIF yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest control design.  Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh simpulan bahwa secara umum nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran PMR lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional.  Jadi, pembelajaran dengan PMR lebih baik dari pada pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematika, pendekatan matematika realistik

Abstract

This was a quasi-experimental research that aimed to know about the influence of cooperative learning model of jigsaw type towards student’s conceptual understanding of mathematics. This research used a posttest only control design. The population was the grade seven students of Junior High School state 20 of Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2012/2013 as many as 217 students who distributed into six classes. Samples were students of VIID and VIIE class that chosen by purposive sampling technique. The data was value of conceptual understanding of mathematics which obtained by test. Based on the results of hypothesis test, conceptual understanding of mathematics of students who taught by the cooperative learning model of jigsaw type was better than conventional learning. It can be concluded that cooperative learning model of jigsaw type influenced conceptual understanding of mathematics of grade seven students of Junior High School state 20 of Bandar Lampung academic year of 2012/2013.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. This research design was posttest only control design. The population of this research were all students of grade VIII SMP N 1 Kota Agung Barat odd semester academic year 2013/2014 which distributed into four classes. The sample of this research were all students of class VIII D  as experiment class and students of class VIII C as control class. The sample were chosen by purposive random sampling. The data of this research was students mathematical conceptual understanding.
